Why does Everyone loves Shaft, Inc. ?
Because they are the best in improving the source material.
See Nisekoi or Cooking Graffiti.
>Graffiti is full of shitty shaft maymays. Idiotic gestures and artsy backgrounds are horrible.
>He didn't watch a single Graffiti episode.
Koufuku was pretty conservative in the visual department if you look through the staff list of the episodes, it was pretty much a training programm - fresh directors in combination with experienced storyboarders.
Though it was still pretty good adaption and they turned a 4-koma with a gimmick into a nice SoL anime.
Not fucking up seems like a good benchmark
Well we still have few novel left and they must have finish Kizu by now so we'll see... We'll see
2014 had also the short Smash bros. trailer.
And 2015 got a new Prism Nana PV.
Though maybe you can even add it to 2014.
After Shaft aborted what was suppose to be the next Sword Art Online, Aniplex decided not to work with them anymore.
So now Shaft is free from the tyranny of Aniplex's money and can go back to making masterpieces like Negima.
Nothing, but giving something to Shaft that would have been better with any other studio did seriously make Aniplex lose a ton of potential profit.
There's a chance that Aniplex is too stupid to realize it though.
>Kizumonogatari (Movie, February 30, 2016)
Taken from wiki
There is hope lads!
Soremachi season 2 when.
SZS season 4 when.
Well I can't read moonrunes just yet so I didn't check Shaft website but hey, hopes!
The only problem I have with SHAFT anime is that a lot of it feels like it's trying to parody other SHAFT anime.
>They are definitely working on Kizu
No. They will definitely animate Kizu but that is all we can say.
We only finished around 66% of Nisio works in any case, it could be in years.
Mekaku wasn't an adaptation either. It was some Jin micromanaged all the various multi-format releases, although he can't neither write a LN nor the screenplay of an anime.
At least half the content is adaption, and you can't into English.
Is Jin also some kind of wizard who placed a cursed on his series, which makes it impossible for anybody to insult it without making themselves look like an idiot?
But people shit on KyoAni all the time. Hell, there was a group dedicated to shitposting in the KnK threads when it was airing.
Why do Shaft and Kyoani always get compared on /a/? Anime they usually produce is neither similar enough to have people shitpost about them being direct competitors to each other, nor are their anime different enough to cause moe vs. manime-esque shitposting.
Back in the good old days Shaft couldn't stop putting messages in their shows about how much better KyoAni is.
>Do you not remember Gorespammer from back when Bake season 1 was airing?
Now I do.
But we all know who the best zetsubou really is.
All of them.
>reusing same shit style since before even Shinbo joined SHAFT and when KyoAni animated for him
All good directors with style quit. Even people responsible for "Shaft visual style" quit and do same in Deen and other studios. Shinbo literally rehashes same shit over and over and over and over.
No creativity at all, no development - whatever visual gimmic people jerk off to, was done by Shinbo already 1000 times over.
Their last ambitious project was Vampire Bund, but after its failure seems they decided to play it safe and just keep the style generic and shitty.
>But wouldn't the anime boost affect the earlier volumes and not the most recent one?
Because they get interested in the franchise. Though the franchise already suffered a significant drop-off before the anime hype so the dropping sales for volume 6 didn't surprise anyone.
Madoka has absolutely nothing new aside from Inu Curry designs. It had moments that looked slightly better than they usual shows, since they hired freelancers for that (i.e. Umetsu at Homura time stop scene) - but it was absolutely generic as Shinbo direction/visuals go.
Just go rewatch Moonphase, its better anyway.
Looking at Tsukimonogatari and Koufuku - even "bad Shaft" is still better at directing than most other animation studios.
Espencially Tsukimonogatari was top notch again.
Most shows they did are pretty unique compared to most, Different approach to shows than most.
