How had this masterpiece changed your life?
I am a hikikomori. People think it's just a Japanese phenomenon, but it exists in the west too. For three years now I have not worked, and for one year I have been completely removed from society. Every day I think of suicide. I have no job, no friends and I speak to no one. Since March 2014 I have not conversed with a single human being that wasn't online, except for the delivery man when I order my groceries and anime figures. The outside world terrifies me and the thought of leaving my home shakes me to my core.
But all that changed when I saw the first episode of Ninja Slayer. After coming down from the excitement of the incredible action, the silky smooth fluid animation and the snappy, intelligence dialogue, we were greeted by this somber closing scene where the villain ponders over a piece of chūtoro sushi (TL: fatty tuna on rice). As I stared at the food, rendered in exquisite detail by Trigger's expert artists and animators, I felt honoo begin to smoulder in my tamashii. Having not eaten in days, the hunger was unbearable, and this only made it worse. There was a hole in my gut that could only be filled with sushi, and I absolutely had to have it now, even if it was awful chain store brand. And so last night, for the first time in one year, I stepped out of my house to buy some. And I repeated it again today, and will again tomorrow. "Ninja Slayer" and "Sushi" are the twin ideas that I will combine into a double helix and use to inspire my progress from despair back to functional society. A man's road is long and painful, but just being on that road is an achievement enough, and a path to greater things. Domo thank you, Trigger, for showing me the way in life. Domo thank you, honto ni much.
Dozo nice to meet you, Ninja Slayer. I am Anonymous-SAN. Dozo yoruichi ne?
He slays himself in the first episode, Anonymous-SAN.
Why would you say this about mai waifu
I WILL SLAY YOU YEEEAAAART
You don't understand. This Chinese cartoon has honestly changed my life.
I went into it not expecting much, considering that it had negative hype and looked utter shit. But holy fucking shit, was I totemo blown away. I was hooked, like a ninja to a bento box full of freshly prepared sushi. I could feel the energy and hype flowing through my tamashii, bringing light to my dull life. I resonated with Kenji. I could feel his struggle and his desire to make ninjas perish, something that struck me hard, as my family too were killed in a realistic fire explosion overlay. And then everything suddenly stopped when I heard the words:
and I started trembling. That was me, I realised I've been slowly "Reciting my Death Haiku" over the course of these past years even though I have so much more time on this beautiful chikyuu. I haven't been able to hold a steady job, my grades were starting to slip, and my parents suspect that I'm gay. Would I get a chance to even compose a death haiku, or would I be forced to sayonara as my life was cut short, wasting my chance to leave a legacy behind? It was right then and there that I knew that I had to get my shit together. I can't think of any other anime that has had such a profound effect on me, let alone on the first episode. Tomorrow, I'm going to be a better man. Arigatou to you, Ninja Slayer, domo thank you Trigger.
I will become a Ninja that Kills the Ninjas that hide within my heart, and build a path towards becoming a great man.
Because your vision of how it should be adapted is superior to the original creators' own vision, right? Fuck off. You are free to like or dislike it, but in terms of adaptation Ninja Slayer is honestly better than 99% of anime adaptations
Holy shit this show is great.
These guys are ninjas right?
Shouldn't they play dirty tricks all the time instead of everyone going fuck ambush, greetings first.
>Lazy animation again
It was fun in Inferno Cop and KLK
But now its getting overdone
Dont act like you didnt get a large income from KLK
"Geography of Japan in Ninja Slayer World: an imaginary map based on the hypothesis of North America being reversed from east to west"
New Saitama (california)
Kyoto Republic (new york)
Lake Biwa (great lakes)
Chugoku region (canada)
Stonehenge region (nunavut)
Dosanko wasteland (alaska - apparently, Dosanko is some kind of horse from hokkaido)
Okinawa submerged city (cuba)
Stop acting like this is lazy or there are budget issues.
First, this is an ONA (meaning it's being uploaded weekly to NicoNico) and the proper TV show is coming in a year
Second: Given the style of the original novels, this was the most proper way to adapt it. Even the original writers agree and like it.
You are free to not like it, but don't act like this is lazy or they could have done it any other way.
Amazon Japan's Ninja Slayer review is basically Triggerfags BTFOing normalfags
We don't know anything about the TV version yet. It could be them airing the ONAs on TV, but given there's a time difference of a whole year beetween the ONAs' release and the TV show's airing, it's pretty likely the TV version will be normally animated instead of using Inferno Cop's style
Nobody remembers this? They released it on
>Ninja Slayer is outselling Kyoanus' moe trash
Given the nips' response to NS, it could be a troll.
But I want to believe justice is being made. Fuck Kyoanus and their boring moe SOL shit where nothing happens.
>This anime is certainly work that encloses the Atmosphere of Ninja Slayer, if human beings to know the Ninja Slayer, I think that it is the content that can be enjoyed if think that it accept it.
However, to too busy to tell the charm of Ninja Slayer to people who absolutely do not know anything, I think representation is too challenging.
As long as you are aware the manga is just another adaptation of the novels, and the authors are happy with the anime and don't spread lies like the mangaka feeling dissapointed, that's fine
It's funny. You can mock the rest of the episode for it's intentionally basic visuals, but there's no doubt that this sequence is the most expertly executed piece of animation to be shown from a first episode this season. By the end of 2015, I think it's very likely that "Ninja Slayer From Animation" will be considered the top-animated show of the year. It's practically redefining the medium with its experimental style and the staff are taking neo-Kanada aesthetics to the next level in a way that will be remembered for decades.
I have traveled far and wide, destroying weak sakuga with my karate. In Japan, studios know me as the "dojo destroyer" and my name is feared. However, even I do not have the guts or skill to challenge the Trigger-ryuu School. Their budo is the most tegowai I have witnessed in my entire life.
Enjoy the next 25 weeks, fellow Anon-san-tachi.
Anime is dying to be reborn in a more glorious form.
Really? This aired like what, last week?
And then you have stuff like Ninja Assassin and Wolverine 2. American Ninjas are hilarious.
Greatest work of art to ever come out of Japan.
Irony is a shield, and I don't hide behind shields. When you read my words you are reading words straight from my kokoro (heart). I don't exaggerate, I don't aim to provoke or inflame. However, I am glad you agree with my praise of Ninja Slayer From Animation. It will be a pleasure watching and enjoying this show with you all.

The manga is actually some quality stuff
Why couldn't the show have been done the same way? It's not like the humour would be lost, in fact it might have had a stronger effect than this 'wacky' style.
The original source material is a silly poor quality joke
The manga adaptation is pretty good quality
The anime is a silly poor quality joke
Adaptation is as it should be, manga is the outlier here.
That's like saying Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff would be better with realistic art
>>From today I become Trigger Slayer, Trigger you shall die
I wont be surprised if they actually use the novel's designs when they air the tv anime in 2016
I wish they used these designs, but the tv version being entirely different is probably wishful thinking.
I feel that to have those desings properly animated, they need a budget similar (if not higher) to Ufotable's UBW. No way that's possible. They'll use the current character design, but fully animate it
It does made me curious on why they used this as a poster for the anime
>I feel that to have those desings properly animated, they need a budget similar (if not higher) to Ufotable's UBW
Ninja Slayer already has a budget similar to UBW only with less Adobe After Effects post-processing
Okay now I am confuse. Are people making fun of NJS just like they did with KlK or are retards starting to believe NJS is good just like what happen with KlK? Or is this just a thread full of Triggerfags jerking each other off?
Are all of you retarded. I was comparing NS with KlK because of how it all happen. At first everybody hated it and made fun of it untlil crossboarders and newfags came and believed that it was saving anime. Then KlK threads became terrible. Inferno copu was a breath of fresh air and i dont think the same style works for NS.
Fucking remove yourself from this website, you stupid newfag normie.
But that's not how it happened. With KlK, people waited eagerly for it to air and loved it from the first episode until it became popular and then most folks hated it. With Ninja Slayer nobody gave a fuck until the first episode showed and then everyone loved it. Maybe people will hate it when it gets popular too, but that remains to be seen.
Nope. Ninja Slayer was actually overwhelmed with a desire to kill Yamato despite she being a good girl and salaryman dude had to fight back against the urges and the spirit to let her go.
What are you talking about. /a/ started to shit on KlK when the costumes appeared. Calling them sluts and when the pv aired everybody started to call it AOTS ironicly because of how bad it was. Only newfags believed and hyped it.

This is beautiful, bless the beautiful staff at TRIGGER for giving us this godsend!
I love this part. The transition to sakuga gets me every time.
TRIGGER is essentially all the good aspects of Gainax, the moe and the fun, and revamped into their own comfy style and I love it.
If I had money at the time I would have donated for LWA2 but I only watched it a few months back and am in college but they deserve the fan support they get and truly make content for the global audience as well as the hardcore East.
I understand why Ninja Slayer keep going up in pre-order now.
I saw there are nips say something "first time i think it's shit, but after watch it feel more times i think i can approve it now"
"this show have some magic can make me to watch more than 1 time"
Picture is a 2chan person watched this 20times
>Director say this will be best Trigger show ever
It taught me how to turn off hard subs since the other faggots that made the stitches were too retarded to do it.
I'm eager to see what we're in store for next.
This episode had some of the best comedic timing I have ever seen in anime.
So this is going by chronological order? In the Ninja Slayer site the first episode appeared as the third novel, but why does moustache man send his baddest motherfucker to deal with him in episode 1 yet acts like "whatever" in Volume 1?
DOMO. HAJIMEMASHITE NINJA Slayer-san.
My computer slows down and skips when I watch in 1080 so I stream it to my tv where it is 1080, runs smooth, and I can watch on a much better display. Crunchy lets me do it best.
I don't understand /a/'s hatred of crunchy though since it actually supports the anime instead of ripping them off.
>Supporting the creators
You're only supporting CR. The creators don't get much money from CR views.
You want to support the creators? Buy the BDs.
>Select all Sushi images
Is Google run by NINJA? Will NINJA Slayer-SAN slay Google NINJA-SAN
Walking down the street and a ninja slaps your waifus ass. What do?
is the YEEEART going to be in every episode?
Reply YEEART if you think so.
Reply YEEEART if you don't think so.
>/a/'s hatred of crunchy
Because it's shit.
>it actually supports the anime instead of ripping them off.
Except it doesn't. The vast majority of the money goes to CR, and a small portion goes to some corporate drones in Japan. Nothing goes to creators.
is this for real? I love stories that purposefully abstract their own media so that the viewer has to use their imagination to fill in the blanks
I'll admit, this looks more like Trigger ran into budge issues than abstraction
but close enough I guess
Doesn't look like it to me. The animation in that fight sequence isn't anything budget-devastating, the sudden switch from actual animation for once back into Inferno Cop style right in the climax is just the joke.
also homosuck is shit
Intentionally behaving like a retard makes sense for this adaptation. The novel it's based on is two japanese guys writing a ninja story the way that they imagine American weeaboos would write one.
They're not real people, they're fictional authors invented by the actual (Japanese) authors. They were pretending to have found some American ninja story and were localising it, when really they were the original creators.
Is it me or is Trigger referencing Apocalypse Zero with the Ninja Slayer's design?
You're now aware that "Ninj@" is both "ninja" and "ninj-at" which the Japs would pronounce "ninjato" (ninja sword), giving it a dual meaning where both terms are relevant. Philip Morzez is playing the double ruse here, he wants us to think he's a clueless American who knows nothing about Japan but he's actually a genius American who knows enough about Japan to perfectly satirise Americans who know nothing about Japan. He's working on levels you can't even comprehend.
My uncle works for Trigger and he once said he saw Philip Morzez read the entire series of Samurai Executioner without checking the glossary of Edo Japanese terms ONCE. What a subarashii otoko.
This anime represents an excellent sociopolitical commentary on the murder of ninjas by other ninjas in modern American society. I hope the ninjas keep killing each other until there are none left.
>Watch Inferno Coppu
>It goes Eva
>It does it better than Eva
>In 3 minutes
I think the transition between the two is what makes it slightly fresh, like the end of the battle at the end of the episode where they set up for this huge finisher and immediately switch back to Inferno Cop
But it just makes bot styles not work. The shitty style is less funny as they are being less creative with it, they just switch to good to do something. The good is less interesting as you know it will turn back to shit and you won't really get an crazy battle
It's the worst of both worlds
>Episode is barely longer than usual
I don't think it can be topped. While I'm enjoying Ninja Slayer as it is, I think Trigger should have gone with the Silly writing and serious animation for this.
>This didn't even reach the realm of animation
>From today I become Trigger Slayer, Trigger you shall die
>Since the time I was born this is the most terrible anime I have seen
>Last episode is suddenly 4 times longer than usual
>Watch the credits, thinking some big plot twist is gonna happen
>About halfway through the credits realize I've been had
Too good for its own time
>>From today I become Trigger Slayer, Trigger you shall die
>>Domo, Ninja Slayer-san. I am Content Slayer.
>>Buddhist has been proven to be a gay sadist
If anything, Japs have a sense of humor
And Ninja Slayer is boredom incarnate apart from a really good op
That was part of the joke though, that and how dumb the dialogue was being basically made up on the spot. This has like one or two jokes
>I am imune to your bullets, haha!
>I am immune too
>What a formidable oponnent
Ninja Slayer doesn't stand a chance
To create a hype.
After the staff figured out they did not have it in them to anime the rest of the official art work we see here >>124202797
They realized they chose more than what they could choose and decided to make it a comedy with shitty animation
>first time seeing something worse than GUNDOH
People in the threads will try to say otherwise but it's garbage. They're the same people that love Inferno Cop.
If you have to watch this, just watch Inferno Cop, save yourself the trouble.
>So, is this worth watching?
It's shitty, for both an adaption, a played on "intentional joke" adaption, and a comedy
yeah the animation is funny,
but what about the content itself?
people on here say ninja slayer is supposed to be a parody/joke novel
are you saying it can only be funny because its presented like this
It isn't funny as it is. the joke is he rubs up against it and it looks bad. That was the joke in the last scene as well. Both took a long time to get to that
Compare it to inferno cop who goes from eating bread that looks like his sidekick to platformer to mummy fight
>Buddhist has been proven to be a gay sadist
You know I just watched this today, and While I was surprised that they pulled the rug out from under us with what they were advertising, I fucking loved this way more than I would have if they had gone about it straight laced.
At first I expected grimy edgy bloody Madhouse like animation from the teaser of the official art.
Then I expected a comedy with the second trailer we saw with some action, I actually preferred this and was looking forward to it.
It's Inferno Cop with ninjas pasted on it, and without Inferno cop.
But anon he said a word over and over again. You get it? The word is silly! And then there is the bit where they stand still and talk about ninja stuff for 5 minutes!
And isn't the best action very short with a bad pay off? Especially when it doesn't really parody western ideas of ninja stuff well and is just generic action
Here's the thing, I think Inferno Cop is pretty funny, maybe even hilarious. It was pretty bizarre, had a sense of randomness you don't even question.
but this is conflicting when you have semi decent animation with Inferno cop animation. Like it's been said before, it tries to be funny the way Inferno Cop was, but fails at it in my opinion
Inferno cop works by being short a on an ever escalating scale of stupidity. You have no idea what to expect. This is a mix of bad animation with a silly story played straight, it doesn't work as it doesn't escalate or at least not fast enough
>but this is conflicting when you have semi decent animation with Inferno cop animation
>But this is conflicting
I didn't find anything conflicting, it would have if you had inferno cop animation and semi decent animation in the same scene but the 2 are separated.
Also it doesn't try to be inferno cop just because it got the same animation. Inferno cop is funny because its random with little parody elements while ninja slayer is a parody with a little randomness.
Tl dr: Inferno cop and ninja slayer only have animation and over the top VA in common. They are different kind of comedy.
Nips always had shitty taste. We are casuals compared to them. I.e. If a VA is or isn't in an anime they are hyped about, they will blam it to hell without a second thought. They are the touchiest fans in the whole world, and I feel sorry for them.
>You act as if the animation from Inferno Cop did not attribute mainly to the comedy
Did my post really sound like that?
I thought it's a given that the animation play a part in the comedy so I didn't insist on that.
You said that it doesn't try to be Inferno Cop just because they are animated the same
But in this case if the animation attributed to the main comedic points of Inferno Cop, then they would try to achieve the same with Ninja Slayer.
That's why I think it's trying to hard to be funny by copying the same style of their last comedy work
Is her life suffering?
Basically, it's because it is done by Trigger.
People are complaining that the animation is shit, etc. We already know this, its obvious, its not like we don't notice, and the fact that they spend the time trying to prove that something so obviously bad is bad is just trying to stir up shit.
Trigger made KlK, which while flawed, was still above average when compared to the flood of moe haremshit that is now dominant in the industry. However, KlK became popular, on on /a/ this immediately means it must be banished to the darkest, shittiest corners of the world. The fact that Trigger is a small studio also makes it easier to hate them just for one show, whereas with SnK and SAO that isnt as easily done.
2chan otakus always have been, and always will be, the scum of the earth.
>yfw the animation gets a little better every episode until episode 26 is Redline tier.
>the animation gets better and better every episode
>finale is cardboard cutouts on Popsicle sticks filmed against a crayon background
No other studio seems to be doing this "over the top" nonsense and I love it. If it was all the time, yea i would get bored with it, but its only the 2nd show Trigger has done in this style and Inferno Cop came out in 2012. So if we get 1 crazy stupid awesome show once every 3 years why not just enjoy it.
Was I successfully trolled, or is this real? Because I'm angry, amused, confused, and a bit sad after reading this honestly.
Is he the new Ken-sama?
I can't wait to see how Ninja Slayer interacts with the girls.
The Ninja does not take lunch breaks.
The Ninja does not take off his mask.
The Ninja does not stop killing Ninjas.
Man, I always wanted to watch Black Lion. They had ads for that on a bunch of the old VHS anime tapes I owned.
I always really enjoyed Yotoden: Wrath of Ninja and Blood Reign: Curse of the Yoma.
Not if I slay them first, if you know what I mean.
What if they've actually got a relatively moderate budget, but deciding to go the inferno cop route - until the final episode - where they blow 90% of everything into the most glorious 15 minutes of the season? That would be Trigger as fuck.
This is an Amemiya anime during a time when Trigger was focusing resources on LWA2 and SEX and VIOLENCE with MACHSPEED. Not to mention Imaishi's project which we know nothing about may have had some overlap with it.
This has no budget.
>Dark Souls of our generation.
You mean Metal Wolf Chaos
From Software ninja slayer game when?
But he's wearing a mask with what seems to be metal mouth guard, how does he eat sushi through that?
This is an amusing design, to be honest. They're too self-indulgent, though. Or maybe they just don't have much money for this adaptation.
Not the first time the original author of a work turned out to be a piece of work himself.
There are people out there who think Inferno Cop and Ninja Slayer are unironically bad. There are people that think Trigger created this completely unironically, that the animation is what it is because of budget issues or a lack of quality.
I'd her with a power of YEEART!
>clumsy blonde ninja girl with long sidebangs in skintight black suit that is unzipped

So this is the power of meme culture, huh? Man, it really is something... heh heh heh
