What the fuck, metronomes tick in the middle, not on the edges.
Fuck, this is bothering me.
I haven't watched this yet, but I can assume that we perceive ticking of the metronome when we see its position at the edge and not at the middle due to the fact that the speed of sound is finite.
If we assume that the speed of light is the same as in the real world, and take in account the BPM of the metronome, we can calculate the speed of sound in the anime universe via sound delay relative to metronome's arrow position.
>calling her a slut for just liking the obvious ikemens all around her
Can you blame her? I really enjoy Hazuki for her comedic moments. Kumiko and her fluffy hair is still the cutest, though.
Reminder that teach said he was going to be strict if they wanted to go to the Nationals.
Reminder that these 4 girls here should form their own club.
And biggest slut is obviously the only girl who wears lipstick. Still surprised she has some own during club and that it hasn't already rubbed off on all the dicks she blew during the breaks and lunch.
Look at that pure as fuck third year.
He's not being strict yet, though. He's just setting it up so they have to be the ones deciding to come begging for his help, rather than just telling them what to do straight off and risking them rebelling. It's the same as how they voted for it in the first place.
He's not even that strict, just telling it like it is. Sure telling someone they suck with that face can be annoying but he's right. The kids know what they are suppose to be doing, and he's not going to force them if they aren't interested.
Maybe it was all the guys who were the ones that were good and wanted to do well, but the girls who just wanted to suck dicks and gossip are the slackers who stayed in the band.
The ones that are left are the ones that are trying to get that easy slacker pussy.
The song they were to play.
I bet you were a lazy son of a bitch throughout school.
>these bitches don't practice
>don't even stay around long
>talk about guys and their periods and shit all day
>playing stupid finger games
Goto has it rough
>getting called greedy by the fat girl
There are no two words in the English language more harmful than "good job".
What instrument does that cute tomboy on the left plays? I want to play on her section.
>you will never be a neglected ufo who gets picked by the fluffiest who wants to shower you with attention
why even be a living object?
Fucking bullshit club drama. They need to have a serious sit down about what the clubs wants to do. If they genuinely want to go to the nationals some people need to get their shit together.
Maybe if they didn't have this doormat for a club pres.
She's a girl. It's only natural she wants to blow on other things besides just you.
Nee-sans like this should be executed.
Reminder that those lazy bitches fucked up this song.
Fluffy sensei was right.
Why are the two on the left throwing gang signs at me?
reminder that the suffering has only begun
>Episode 4: Let's Sing, Solfège
Students burst into tears because of the band teacher's strict and harsh lessons, but Kumiko keeps practicing for the Sunshine Festival. Then...
So is she one of the girls who hates the slackers, or is she a slacker herself?
>those little pigtails
I hope it's true that
Asuka gets BTFO.
What would more difficult sheet music look like for brass anyway? I'm used to looking at violin sheet music, not sure what moderate or advanced would consist of for euph or trumpet or whatever.
Reina ends up with sensei, who she admires for his candor and belief is hard effort.
Tubacabra ends up with Geh. Shuichi.
Kumiko ends up alone because she's too shy to admit she finds various ikemen attractive.
I don't mind, it is a bit over the place but I expect that is reflecting the nature and attitude of the band at this time. They're all kinda lazing around, the few that want to practice are getting nowhere.
The long scream is hopefully the show kicking itself up the ass a bit.
Kumiko says class pres basically betrayed her. So I guess it's up to these two to save the day next week?
>the percussion is hard to move, so they study on the class
>the woodwinds are sensitive to water and sunlight, so they pick a room for themselves
>the brass is real fucking loud, and nobody likes to hear them practice, so we have them study under the sun somewhere far, far away from everybody else from the band
Is that a problem? I never took a class on this stuff as a kid.
Oh, I see, If that were an american teacher he would of been pissed off. Time is everything for teacher's because they've always got a million things to do and tons of other kids jockeying for their time.
this can't be
There's no good site for polls, but strawpoll works when people vote early at least.
I agree. There needs to be a hook, the episode plot needs to always end in a high note or a low note every episode to engage the viewer to watch the next episode.
The first 2 episodes did neither. This episode was only saved by that horn solo ending.
This kind of pacing is okay if the show is in a binge type release system ala netflix, but having to wait every week with a snail paced plot progression is not enticing.
According to the books, that's what happens. However, she is shown in the anime intro playing in concert with the whole band. So either the intro is a lie or KyoAni are going to change the story so Aoi is the only one who has to quit due to parents. Well I suppose we should consider that in 13 episodes they don't get to the point where she has to quit
Next week Tubacabra is going to ask Kumiko if she thinks Shuichi is also an ikemen. Kumiko will pretend like she's never given it a thought, as usual.
Of course there's some drama because Tubacabra confesses to Shuichi, but although he says he's happy about her feelings, he can not accept because he says he's in love with another girl (Kumiko).
Kumiko, who is never true to her emotions (unless she accidentally blurts it out), doesn't want any conflict and acts like she still doesn't like Shuichi, although that's obviously not true. She never ends up confessing and changing the way she acts, and eventually Shuichi starts to fall for Tubacabra instead.
The story is basically an analogy for change through music and human emotions. Kumiko sticks to her ways and just goes to the flow (sticking to the ufo), while Tubacabra, who has decided to embark on change and development, wins the Shuichi bowl.
JUST FIRED ALL THEM SLACKERS AND BE DONE WITH IT ALREADY YOU HEAR ME????
>tea time in the club room and talk about irrelevant garbage
The french horn section is the section you're looking for. Sadly, this show is about everybody else who has to work to achieve things rather than spend all day talking about shit and eat pastries.
Seniors are the ones that are supposed to teach newcomers how to do that stuff.
Is this your first anime? Because at this point you should already know how highschool clubs work.
>mfw school cut music and arts program
>this anime helps me cope
Yea, thats kinda my issue. He should at least take a tour of the different sections once in a while. I guess it has more impact on the band if they're all together and fail collectively though.
It's almost like the goals of the students don't align with the advisor :^)
It's almost like sensei is creating a negative atmosphere and stagnating the growth of the band. It's almost like you have no experience with highschool bands.
He fucking assessed the situation day 1 when he asked them what goals they wanted.
The current problem is an internal one that the students should fix by themselves.
The teacher just can't drag them kicking and screaming to play if they don't really want it.
What about the groups that don't have seniors eh? Are they supposed to spontaneously pick up all this shit?
Teachers are paid to teach, not fuck around and bully students. Fucking anime-japs
>/a/ going all out on fictional characters because they are not studying
>while browsing /a/
They showed that all the boys were playing football when not-Mio was trumpeting by herself.
The teacher should be more dominant.
He should join the practice everyday and slap those lazy bitches.
Fucking second years, man.
It's the same for my high school soccer practice too, seniors won't do cardio so their stamina was shit.
What I meant is that they are both slackers at heart. 3-4 out of 7 in that sections are slackers. Who the fuck storms off just because he didn't like being asked a simple question? Who the fuck gives no shit about it? They are slackers and that's it.
This club need their own Momo to get things moving.
how the fuck do people just proxy this shit instantly anyways? i'd imagine that it would take some time to set this shit up but it can literally take a few seconds before someone starts votespamming.
>Wow the teacher is such a prick why won't he spoonfeed them when they clearly haven't put any effort in themselves?
Reminds me of my physics teacher, although he'd write a question on the board and fuck off to another teacher's classroom. He co-wrote the textbook my class used though so he'd say if you don't get it read the book. Looking back on it, I learned and retained more in that class than the rest of my HS classes combined.
>Why the fuck are there like thirty girls and two guys not counting teach.
Welcome to Japan, enjoy your stay.
>not a teacher
>has good looks and a slim body, is 34 years old and is popular among the school's girls. He is new music teacher in Kitauji High School and serves as the adviser to the concert band club. He is a teacher who is in charge of the Class 5 of the second grade.
They're paid to advise something. If the band has problems he isn't just supposed to look away like some dumb primadona faggot.
the boys are all playing sports like football and baseball
>not quite my tempo
Goto's gf is really cute, he's a lucky guy
>1st year of highschool
>someone actually noticed that
You haven't noticed that he's a weirdo?
>sneaking up on a pair and started talking
Here is one, a solo piece for euphonium. (I honestly forgot a lot of difficult songs it's been awhile)
I haven't played my euph in years, but I've played parts that looked like tuba or even flute parts. Usually euphonium is given main and low brass melody within songs.
How do you guys still like Asuka after watching this episode?
She's clearly just a bitch whose keeping face, she says that she wants to work hard and go for the nationals when she probably the one promoting complacency and laziness when you take a look at her section.
I bet you she was the center of the drama last year too or could have done something about it.
Ponytail, Fluffy or Twintails?
>He is new music teacher in Kitauji High School and serves as the adviser to the concert band club.
He's an advisor to the club, he's not a teacher for them. And if the band doesn't want to take their practice seriously he doesn't have to do anything.
Oboe on the left (black) Fagott is the tall one
Real ensembles only gather up like once in a while (I hear like every two weeks to a month.) You're suppose to practice the piece, the conductor fine tunes to his style/tempo/what have you. The conductor is not there to baby you.
Why don't you post some examples yourself?
That posture looks so sexual.
>The conductor is not there to baby you.
This. That being said, it probably would have been more effective had he made an exception here and let the students repeat that simple piece until they didn't miss their fucking entrys anymore.
>destroying the club for a marginal gain
It's fairly obvious that he wants the best.
He either wants a band to compete, not just go, but legitimately compete with other top bands, at nationals, or he wants nothing to do with them.
If they had voted to laze around and not give a shit then he probably wouldn't have been seen again, but they voted to compete so he's going to treat them like he would a nationals level band.
>Why the fuck are there like thirty girls and two guys not counting teach.
Right in episode 1 the band had a recruiting ad and it said "we especially need more boys!"
It is like the western equivalent of recruiting male cheerleaders.
