It will all come tumbling down.
She is listening to:
Official Brass magazine praizing Euphonium saying its great and realistic.
Their town (Uji) should pay them for tourism promoution, just like the local preffectures do with PA Works.
KyoAni studio is like the only (aside from temples) local attraction there - now the town is even shown in anime, and more beutifully than it is in reality. Expect tourists to "Euphonium spots" same way as K-On locales are visited.
Soulless atmosphere, as could be expected of KyoAni when they have to focus on predominantly girls these days.
It really shows how high in the clouds they are with their fujo serving women in charge.
No wonder it's not selling. They should just give up and be more honest with themselves by turning into an exclusively women pandering studio, since male otaku was already betrayed and lost.
Absolutely beautiful. Truly proving that Hazuki a best.
So could it do worse than even Nichijou? I don't there has ever been a KyoAni show that reached rank 1,000 on Stalker.
What's the deal with circular breathing? That shit is a gimmick, it's not something anybody actually has to learn, and it's definitely not something you waste time on in valuable, limited practice time.
ya I realised the other thread was dead, so I tried to find another. But legit, this is pathetic.
Because that's how Japanese school uniforms actually look in real life. They're meant to be conservative, not form fitting. In fact, the only way the skirt would be as short as it is even there is if the girl intentionally rolled it up.
And thank god, though that has more of a shounen demographic and also it has a decent number of women loving it since Kanie is still the protag and a whale magnet.
Seriously though, KyoAni shouldn't even try to make a seinen orientated series, if nothing else then because they suck at it.
If Gotou were a girl what instrument would he play?
A Fallopian Tuba.
If Kumiko were a princess what instrument would she play?
If OP were part of the band what instrument would he play?
If Haruka played with a vibrator what would it be called?
What does Shuuichi get if he thinks about Kumiko too much?
And it shows how they didn't fucking care, the technical aspect of the show is top tier, but everything is rigid, soulless and lack any sort of love.
About the sales...an old post comes to mind that still stands true.
"As expected. With Free, they betrayed their otaku fans.
Not because they went with full-on fanservice on silver plate for females; but because they never
gave, or will give the same amount of fan-service to otaku.
And they will respond in kind. See how KnK is doing now."
Just replace KnK with Hibike, and add to the fact that even the shounen and female fans have no place here.
I thought the point of cosplay was to imitate anime, not real life. The uniforms look form fitting in the anime, why can't cosplayers do that? I wouldn't mind even a longer skirt, it just would look way better if the outfit was less baggy. Japs are too short to be wearing baggy clothes.
How did she die, /a/?
This show is really boring so far. Only reason worth watching has been best girl.
She has had some good moments, but she's getting a bit too carried away with her random funny personality, and she's tall as fuck so out of my radar as a good looking girl.
Lipstick slut is best girl.
what kind of trumpet do you want to listen to?
I'm expecting they're setting it up that the four main girls will start some kind of revolution within the club and get the ones that shouldn't really be there in the first place to find their enthusiasm.
>Being able to animate in a breathtaking manner alone won't be enough this time.
They're skimming the top with this shit, too. There's way too much CG. The bits that are there are really nice, but it's still jarring to switch back and forth.
That's what it looks like, but it'll probably be the fourth episode with them making people take it seriously, then MAYBE from 5 on there will be some growing, but unless this shit is 30 episodes, they don't really have a reason to drag it out this much. The first episode had everything set perfectly, and they're just treading water while cashing Yamaha's checks.
How could there be ANY fun when even the fucking scenery is dark, like the inside of classrooms and whatnot.
This isn't comfy and warm. This isn't fun. It's not selling for a good reason.
It's like people can't enjoy a show unless it has 50k pre orders.
So you're telling me that it's not selling because it's actually being serious instead of more moeshit? Sasuga, Japan. And of course the scenery is dark. The tone of the show is currently rather muted, because DRAMA. It wouldn't make any fucking sense if we had all this drama and everything looked brighter and more cheerful than the sun.
God, it's painful to even read further.
But no, it doesn't sell because it's fucking soulless. That's it. No colors, no vivid scenery, just rigid and "professional" sterile animation.
And really, there ain't many "moe otaku" left that cares about their stuff either ways, so nobody cares how pretty they draw the girls. You know what could save the sales? A handsome boyband.
>It wouldn't make any fucking sense if we had all this drama and everything looked brighter and more cheerful than the sun.
Yeah, that must be why all the promotional images, OP, and character designs were so serious and muted, too.
This show has pretty bouncy and fluid animation compared to non-KyoAni shows. Within KyoAni productions, maybe this isn't as lovingly animated as their absolute best, but it's still pretty good.
And as for vivid scenery, did you not see episode 1 and the ridiculous sakura? Or the overloaded glow in the flashback performances?
I can't tell if you're intentionally being dense, or if you don't understand basic story progression. Do you know what the OP, and those promotional images have in common? All four girls together. Do you know how many of the girls are currently together? 3 of them. It's not exactly a stretch to work out that the super happy fun times that you're expecting will be soon.
Or I could be entirely wrong and it's going to be full drama for the rest of the show, but time will tell.
What the fuck do you expect, that after the first three episodes they are going to do a 180 degree backface with the whole atmosphere?
Forget it. The nips use the 3 episode rule too.
If that's how the show has been so far, it's going to stay that way. No fun, no super happy and most importantly, no love put into the show.
This is fucking sad. I'm glad this shit is tanking if people like this are the ones defending it. The show does not have the luxury of waiting to give people something they promised for months on end. This isn't a two cour show for fuck's sake. A third of the show will be nothing and we're supposed to hope it's worth watching the rest of the way? Bullshit.
do you think they're using appropriate lighting and colours for each scene? Which is why competitions and the romance of starting at a new school are bright and colourful, wheras the early drama and conflict is darker?
>mfw nothing good will come from this.
It's just so boring and shitty, even when compared to KnK
samefagging is only a problem when you're saying the same thing in only slightly different ways each time, pretending to be a different poster each time in order to maintain an illusion that the point you're trying to further is one that is supported by many.
It's not about Free existing or not.
It's about KyoAni not caring about their other projects aside from showcasing their animating prowess, while they are waiting to do another fujoshi goldmine because that's dear to their heart too.
I think it's comfy and nice to look at. The performance under stage lighting feel for example feels really authentic and warm.
He will, but only when the entire band is on the verge of killing each other and the part leaders come begging for him to manage them, so he has an excuse to be a maximum turbodick and they can't complain.
They said it would be more along the lines of Chihayafuru and just laid back SoL.
He can't help a band that doesn't want to help themselves, anon. Even if he stepped in now, they'd still be all over the place complaining about him driving them too hard and end up rebelling. He needs the club to rise above their own complacency and laziness before he can except them to follow him properly.
Even in the first episode threads there were people complaining about Reina being upset ruining the mood or something.
I wonder how they're going to react when she gets befriended and turns out to be pretty chill after all.
Shit's bright as fuck, what show have you been watching? Maybe your player settings are fucked.
Sapphire is the only short girl, and the cutest of course.
Kumiko is too tall.
I sadly am not, pretty average 183cm, but only really like girls under 150cm. And Kumiko is 162cm, which is taller than the average young adult woman by a good 5cm.
I don't know where you pulled that from, Asuka is just the best character in this show.
I like it. Not sure why some people expect SoL to automatically equate happy fun sparkle times. The drama in this show is pretty reasonable and as far as I'm concerned it's decently realistic. I find it engaging, though to each his own.
The constant Yamaha shilling is pretty funny, though.
This series is even more boring than Amagi Park and the first 6 episodes of Hyouka combined. Amagi was shit just like Tamako but at least Hyouka picked up the slack and gave us an ending we deserved.
I was still fuming over the KnK trainwreck and Kyoani decides to ruin my soul once again with a tasteless series with no target audience in mind.
What the fuck?
To be fair it has good production quality but its not what I have been accustomed to with Kyoani. Chuunibyou, Haruhi and the sort where you have the right balance of tasteful comedy and SoL that I liked.
They are alienating their core fanbase with each new series.
>implying sensei crushing schoolgirl's hopes and dreams is boring
It's okay not all of kyoani series are to everyones liking. I think believe people should enter kyoani series with little to no expectations. Too many times people get disappointed by the hype train.
Kyoukai no Kanata wasn't a trainwreck just not what people wanted from kyoani. We should've known better.
KnK LN PV >KnK series IMO
So. What is the "KyoAni core demographic" that people are sperging out about? The K-ON crowd?
You should rewatch the episode because they explicitly say what type of attitude the quitters had toward music.
I liked Mirai, I liked KnK as a series, it had some good things to enjoy but the ending was brutally rushed and people claim that the KnK movie fixed and redeemed the series. I have not yet seen it, perhaps.
I had the same problem with Linkin Park, I guess I am the only one stuck in the past and living a static life in this day and age.
the problem isn't that it's dark. the problem is that it's cold. A lot of pale greens and blues. Hyouka was dark, but used a lot of warm tones, which made it feel a lot comfier.
Subjective in the anime medium. But if you want to critique it as animation by western standards then yes. It's mediocre.
Agree, Not many shows can handle endings with only 1-cour well. And in KnK's messy case it wasted so much screen time with unnecessary things.
pleb go watch more new guy.
it's to contrast with the competition scenes under spotlight
and other scenes like the pink and bright first day of school, pic related
It's pretty enjoyable for me so far. But we're on 3rd episode already, and various similar shows (thematic shows narrating the growth of the main groups from bad to good) had told me what the writer needs to do to keep me watching.
They need to get good. And they need to do so fast. I am not waiting 12 episode for one successful concert. The music is nice, but fuck them if they're going to shove drama after drama each episodes. I need them to play, and please make it happen in (maximum) 3 episodes.
This is why asukafags is cancer, think like she is perfectt. Asuka did nothing eventough she is vice president. She can't even say anything to that slacker in bass section. How is she better at all
Story wasn't that bad, just too much the crap that was served with the main plot.
It was messy in its execution, not focused had rushed ending. For kyoto animations standard it's pretty meh, but still a lot fucking better than the sea of shitty harems/generic romcoms produced since 2013/10 to present.
personal enjoyment : okay
okay, if that's opinion mate. happy anzac day.
Asuka is like MC of Gakkou Gurashi. She is there to keep things cheerful and light so that others dont kill each others or commite suicides. Her role is vital, if she breaks - everyone will.
the main plot was retarded, shit was a total trainwreck. It was fairly well animated, and it wasn't a total failure at comedy (see: episode 6), but the dramatic segments were laughably poorly thought out.
I meant to add that the colors are just a bit too washed in my opinion. The midtones and darks should probably be a bit darker.
>The fun disappeared when KyoAni didn't care about their characters.
They care about their characters. That's why Kumiko and the few others have layered personalities beyond what you get out these types
>It's not about Free existing or not.
>It's about KyoAni not caring about their other projects aside from showcasing their animating prowess, while they are waiting to do another fujoshi goldmine because that's dear to their heart too.
All these baseless speculations
>To be fair it has good production quality but its not what I have been accustomed to with Kyoani. Chuunibyou, Haruhi and the sort where you have the right balance of tasteful comedy and SoL that I liked.
>They are alienating their core fanbase with each new series.
What heck you want out of this series? K-ON! 2.0?
Here you go, Lipstick.
She probably blows Goto´s tuba every night.
I have the feeling Goto is her bitch when they are alone.
That's it, Kaori. That's it.
She's the most beautiful character Kyoani has ever made.
Was my boy Shuichi waiting all this time for Kumiko?
He won't. Not only because there's not going to be any romance beyond subtext for those that want to see it, but because you can't be NTRed when you're not interested in the first place.
tfw i repeated this scene 5 times. based sensei
As someone who was in high school band this show is pretty realistic towards the kind of people who compose a band club.
You have people who are solid players, but unenthusiastic, players who care, shitty players and slackers who fuck around for no reason.
And people like this >>124380358
are the absolute worst who made me so goddamn mad back in band.
>And people like this >>124380358
>are the absolute worst who made me so goddamn mad back in band.
I genuinely like the direction of the series.
I liked K-ON, but I'd be disappointed if this was K-ON with a new set of instruments.
I don't get the negative reaction for this. This is quite decent so far. I like Etotama and some other anime better, but this is not bad at all.
Question: In a concert band, everyone needs to be decent, right? Or can there be standouts that make the difference?
The clothes anime characters wear are pretty much impossible to replicate exactly as they look in 2D. School uniforms made of that material can't really be form fitting (If you want to move in it at least), and if you look at the uniforms in the show they are actually pretty loose, but anime girls have exaggerated figures.
There will always be a negative reaction towards everything. Not everybody is the same. The reception from this is generally more positive than negative, but it was a controversial episode to begin with.
Could be anyone. Teens watch it because it's relevant to their lives, adults because it's nostalgic, guys because the girls are cute, girls because the girls are relatable and there are also some cute guys.
Probably leaning towards moe otaku, but the original book could have been female orientated.
Is that meme where people jump on the shitposting wagon and call KnK shit while making extremely generalized non-complaints still a thing? I thought that stopped, the OVA and movie threads were all good.
I wish sensei had been a bit colder towards the student. Last week's threads got me hoping for him to snap and throw shit at the trombones, and while he was strict, he still felt pretty warm and shit, which I find weird.
TL;DR: please go full Whiplash, fluffy-sensei.
A combination of IRC, /v/irgins who actually think they invented moe and killed anime, and a couple guys who actually think a studio betrayed them by not animating they one specific thing they wanted.
She supports her sister but at the same time doesn't like loud noise when she comes home late at night.
None of the characters are one dimensional archetypes if you haven't noticed yet.
well, you'd think that if she wanted to support her, she'd have a different attitude towards the euph, right?
I don't quite get their relationship at this point. but then again we haven't seen that much.
they are rather plain, both in terms of character and design.
blazers would've been much better.
seifuku are outdated
but i think kousaka will bring more life into everything once she joins the cast.
I'd let her blow my trombone if you know what I mean.
It's not about the production values.
It's just the moe design feels weird to me. When I look at their faces, I just feel weird. Strange, with other KyoAni shows, I don't have problem with them.
Well, I guess it's a personal thing.
She looks fuwa fuwa
Not fat as in rolls and that gross shit, but like a soft pillow
well the Euphonium scene map is quite a bit off from where the Kyoani shop is, but if they actually cameo it in the show that would be hilarious
She noticed her sister fish flopping on quiting/joining the band and still taking the euphonium even though she wanted the trombone.
her sister doesn't like how Kumiko is being shoved around so much. Kumiko only rejoined the club again because people pushed her into it and now she's playing the UFO again because Asuka pushed her into it.
All I got from that is she obviously cares a lot about what her sister thinks but at the same time maybe resents the fact she cares so much
Anyways it's a pretty normal request asking Kumiko not to play her ufo at night especially since they live in apartments
Watched ep 1 4 times, ep 2 2 times, this one so far but will rewatch in calm during week.
Rewatching really helps appreciate it more as you spot more details, does not really get old. No other KyoAni show but Hyouka had same effect.
She's hardly complaining about anything. The only time she seemed a little upset was the first time she asked whether Kumiko was quitting, but otherwise, she's just stating facts. The fact that she may be doing so to for some reason get under her sister's skin notwithstanding.
Yui didn't know a shit about music and two week later she was playing like she praticed during two year. Maybe that shit will happen but I doubt since Hibike seems more "realistic".
Talking about the tuba player and the swirling of the musical notes during th e or first playthrough.
Nationals? Pfft hahaha. Learn to read time and key signatures, k own the difference between an eigth and half note. Know what the fuck a rest is.
These guys are out of their fucking league. Sensei is right for putting them in their place. He doesn't need people who don't care wasting his time.
Hazuki wasn't playing during the ensemble. And Midori said Hazuki probably won't actually perform in SunFes.
his job is a teacher for the school, he's only an adviser to the club and most advisers arent expected to know jack shit about their club. They're just lucky Taki sensei is a music teacher.
Learning to play an instrument requires more than just motor skill.
It's important to really understand music, to understand what you're hearing and playing.
Having good ears helps tremendously.
I wonder how many people would be shitting on the teacher if it was a female character?
So why didn't all the people who were serious make a new band for serious members and leave those lazy fucks to rot in the other one?
Probably only the school's "official" band gets to do competitions, and they likely quit one-by-one rather than as a bloc anyway, so getting everyone together and arranging it would be difficult.
They would have been first years at the time and they couldn't make one with a bunch of lazy fucks either. And they could have scouted for the next year instead of the same thing happening all over again.
>>Fluffy-sensei sits in front of Hazuki cuz she's constantly off-tempo.
"Ok, start counting 4"
The Whiplash method is insane and doesn't work. Taki's bullshit with throwing oil on the fire while acting totally disinterested in what happens until the leaders come and beg him to manage the band however he wants just to get all of the fighting to stop is how manipulating people to do what you want actually works.
Goto's girlfriend is cute
Why doesn't Kousaka just join a real band outside of school? She's clearly already way beyond school level with her skill. I don't get why she's even wasting her time if she really wants to compete.
What does she do at 5?
