Around 7 hours to Episode 4 and more suffering.
It's still early morning, 4chan Standard Time.
From past thread:
Episode 4: Let's Sing, Solfège
>Students burst into tears because of the band teacher's strict and harsh lessons, but Kumiko and the other girls keeps practicing for the Sunshine Festival. While walking home, Kumiko and Shuuichi talk about Taki Sensei and then Reina appears.
Episode 4 PV
Looking forward to it.
I don't care what the sales are, This is one of the best Kyoani shows in recent times.
Just spaghetti spillin before confessing
Most enjoyable part of the episode.
If I had to be honest, I wish there were less flags for the guy, but not expecting a het end would probably be asking for too much.
Regardless, this is still shaping up to be KyoAni's best show in a while.
Finally a good shot of qt background husbando #2.
I don't know what Kumiko has for Kousaka, but she has it so bad.
It had this link:
Nah, percussion draws the slackers and outsiders (or drummers who want to do concert band with their friends). It's only later that they start to feel fulfilled by hitting things.
Seriously, anon? When you see her reaction last episode to the people being lazy enough to make practice be completely canceled and her blowing off steam in public about it shows it's pretty clear she's thinking along the same lines as Sensei
What is going on in this thread. Seriously.
So now that we have conformation that the spoilers were indeed true whose ready for her and Sapphire to start getting bullied because of how good they are and for miss genki's horrible past as a former bully herself?
This is now my loli, you can't have her she's mine.
Wait, then which will he choose, her or tuba-kun?
So who are these zombies at the back of the class?
Kumiko was adorable this episode.
She's totally gay for Kousaka
I guess the extra finger helps you play?
Kousaka's reaction when I confessed
>Kumiko was adorable this episode.
Her faces were great
My slutfu is back.
I want CUTE GIRLS doing CUTE THINGS not DRAMA shit.
Never trust Kyofanny.
This nigga gets it.
The melodrama(wouldn't even call it drama) was pretty light-hearted and over in a flash. Only thing that really stood out was flute girl getting bullied by sensei into crying.
Who SAX here?
Hello darkness, my old friend
>Those bitches are so fucking shit they are unable to do the basics when they've been playing for 10 YEARS
I've done a sport for 10 years. While I was not a monster ar it, I was way better than a beginner.
Well, at least he's worked out how to get her attention now.
Sensei a shit.
This is too much
Kumiko makes the best faces.
Well Sensei kinda redeemed himself this episode, Goto seems like a bro.
Asuka was pretty tame this episode, Kyoani have put her on a leash ;_;
Lets try that again, pretty good reactions come from Kumiko.
I was more than basic but miles behind what other people could do. What he said can be applied to everything else too.
>Oh, you've been studying for this long and you're still not this good? What a waste of time.
Only a few seconds.
Also, I think she got wet when Goto said he liked the tuba.
Last season Oi-chan made the best faces. Looks like it's Kumiko this time.
Oh. Makes sense.
You are shifting what he said though. If, after studying for years, you were unable to grasp basic thigns about the studied subject/the method being asked to be acquired, you wasted your time.
It does not apply to more advanced things, or, it becomes more subjective.
Dear Sir / Madam,
It has come to the attention of our group that you are a poof and/or gayboy. You are cordially invited to to a meeting of interested parties behind the bike sheds for wine and Chinese burns at 12:30 this coming Thursday. Please RSVP and bring lunch money.
Passion level up
Taki-sensei, ease up on the bullying please.
He did, Fat chan used to be bullied all the time because she was alone and him being the guy that he is always hung around her because due to his massive size the bullies backed off.
Precisely, I'm not saying being good is everything. But being unable to grasp the basics after putting years into it, is a waste of time. And if you had fun, you weren't having fun doing that thing but simply having fun hanging out with friends etc.
Some people advance to high levels without having good fundamentals. She can probably play alright but when you break it down her ability to do basic "easy" things is shaky. Masters often go back to the fundamentals in order to improve their skills, so it's pretty normal to need extra training in that area.
Anyway, it's unnecessary to bring someone to tears over something like that. He really is using the National thing to justify everything that he does.
She must have been second-guessing herself. She couldn't help but think about everything she did and why they did not want her to come. Heck, she might even drive them away if she keeps being paranoid. (She has reasons to be tho and she is lucky Kumio and the other girl are sweet as fuck).
I only got the translated character descriptions of the girls:
Tomoyo Kurosawa as Kumiko Ōmae
Kumiko enrolled in Kitauji High School after long hoping to wear the uniform. She wasn't particularly dead set on it, but decided to join the brass band club and continue playing the euphonium. She has a habit of immediately saying what she's thinking and changes her mind easily. She is very preoccupied with something she said to Reina at a contest in junior high school.
Ayaka Asai as Hazuki Katō
Kumiko's classmate. She was in the tennis club in junior high school, and is a beginner in music. She admired the trumpet and joined the brass band club, but ends up playing the tuba. She's a bright and perky mood-maker.
Moe Toyota Sapphire Kawashima
Kumiko's classmate. At an elite junior high school for young ladies, she learned to play the contrabass. She joined the brass band club to continue to happily play music. She has a positive personality, but worries about her name.
Chika Anzai as Reina Kōsaka
A girl who graduated from the same junior high school as Kumiko. Influenced by her dad, who is a pro, she has been playing the trumpet since she was little, so she continues at the brass band club in high school. She is stoic and cool.
Not really, it honestly shows him as a white knight faggot as he never attempts to try and get fat chan to either lose weight or to stick up for herself. Instead he's shielding her from the realism of the world just because he likes her innocence, that's pretty selfish to do.
>Some people advance to high levels without having good fundamentals.
You can't advance there if you do not have the fundamentals. You are mistaking "good fundamentals" with "basic fundamentals".
Plus, I sincerely doubt anyone in music can get to a GREAT level if they are unable to do the fundamentals. I.e, finger techniques, gammes, blowing techniques and whatever else exists. Heck, It's presumptuous as fuck to say you can be great if you do not have solid foundations.
I even admitted he was a cunt but you can't deny that he redeemed himself even a little this episode.
>Kousaka already gotten the teacher crush.
>next week's episode airs on 5/5
Will it happen in real time
Is the pacing really too slow? If anything I think it's a little fast. Not that I'm familiar with the source material.
Oh come on. The "nationals" goal was decided upon by the group as a whole. There oviously are some people who didn't actually want to go to the nationals but raised their hand anyway because of peer pressure; people who underestimated the workload etc.
Why hasn't anyone suggested that they say they're no longer interested in Nationals? They obviously didn't know what they were getting themselves into.
Which is why people go back and work on fundamentals after a certain point in order to advance further.
It's Kyoani's Chihayafuru and I love it.
>Fuck, most of them think hard work is enough to be good if you don't have talent
Uhh, the average /a/non doesn't even engage in anything remotely called "hard work." They take the easy way out.
Why she is so perfect?
This just in. Many of them probably didn't want to put the actual work in that it takes to play at a national level and got caught up in the peer pressure a public vote puts on them.
>Why hasn't anyone suggested that they say they're no longer interested in Nationals? They obviously didn't know what they were getting themselves into.
Because they're the minority. Can't you into democracy?
Dude, they had a meeting specifically to talk about how sensei deals with the club. They could have easily agreed to take back the decision to go to Nationals to ease the workload.
Put a Chopin piece in front of a master and someone unable to play the piano. Ask them to play the piece. Do you believe you won't be able to judge who of the 2 is able to play the piece better?
First 2 episodes felt a little slow, but the last 2 have been paced really well.
This week's episode was great, you could really feel the nervousness of the band as they waited for the sensei's verdict then that relief and joy when they passed.
Can't wait to see what he has them play next week
To play written compositions you don't need any form of talent that can't be compensated with practice.
Composing/improvising or generally creative stuff requires a higher deal of talent and a specific personality, but to play a piece to perfection you only need to practice it until it becomes mindless repetition.
ribbon-chan is the best!
is anybody else going to make a collage of her?
Taki-sensei did say if they don't improve by the deadline then they're not going to Nationals which logically speaking, he would switch gears to a less cutthroat approach. The meeting boiled down to, "He thinks we're shit. Let's prove him wrong."
Just the best.
My magic wand tool has failed me.
That's the cruel part of life, there will always be piece of shit people who will end up being poor no matter what, end up being shit no matter what. If you don't have that magic ticket called Talent you might as well get used to eating out of dumpsters.
>trombones and euphoniums emptying spit valves, complete with sound
accurate depictions of band instruments are my fetish
Why he cares about Asuka so much?
I am reminded of Nichijou.
He told them that they wouldn't go to SunFes, something they do every year. It's probably the only thing they really go out and do as a club so it was a big shock for them. If they could do SunFes and not go to Nationals (what they do every year) they would have been satisfied with that.
