"Chaos Dragon: Sekiryū Sen'eki" Machi Asobi PV
Chaos Dragon is based on a RPF (role playing fiction) Red Dragon, created through TRPG (table-talk role-playing game) sessions by five character creators: Gen Urobuchi (Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Fate/Zero), Kinoko Nasu (Kara no Kyoukai, Fate/stay night), Izuki Kougyoku (Garden Lost), Doriru Shima, and Ryogo Narita (Baccano, Durarara!!).
i think the best part about this is how each character is based off the tropes of the writers themselves, like the urobutchers character is edgy as almighty shit and nasus is a gilgamesh reskin.
Maybe if you only look at the characters designs in a shallow way. We even have translated a whole complementary material about Swallow and Meryll and he has nothing to do with Gilgamesh.
And then there is Meryll who is almost the same.
So is Narita's character a m'lady fedora tipper?
No, he is an immortal merchant who is the richest man alive.
>Nasu character is a chuuni blonde tragic prince twink that use a trillion of two handed swords
>Urobuchi is a post-edgy assassin
>the rest is Hestia level waifu baits for modern otaku
Yeah man, its gonna be good. totally legit good.
It is based on Lou's second design.
Are you telling you can't see her killing the Saber clone because sword-blondie was kind to her once and was jealous, becomes yandere/omnicidal, then at the end it is revealed the evil sword was manipulating her mind and sword-blondie breaks the sword, forgives her and she says something about how he's so kind to everyone, and then join his harem? Because I can totally see it being rewritten that way to pander to its audience. I'll admit, I maybe a bit salty at seeing the same things over and over again.
This is made by the same people who created the campaign for the TRPG in teh first place. The changes are just to make it a little different, they compared it to something like the Records of the Three Kingdoms compared to the Romance of the Three Kingdoms.
And they have no reason to stay faithful to the original plat sessions. Unlike LN/manga, trpg isn't mainstream and wouldn't benefit as much from an anime. Making the anime successful to push BD sales would be a much better decision.
Guess we'll see when it airs. At the very least, I do want it to be successful so we might get more trpg adaptation since I am curious about some of the trpg that they play.
I know, i've read some of the playthrough transcript. Just hoping they won't go for the redemption end. I mean, it's hard not to imagine Uro's character to be redeemed now that she is a white-hair waifu.
Heh. Heard about it some time ago and checked two days ago if something interesting is happening.
ONE: Why's the loli tanned catgirl beastmaster whitened?
SECOND: Why is Urobutcher's edgemonk genderbend?
Under that logic original Lou was a hasbando.
Still best girl. But no longer untamed brown.
That's probably true. Plus the fact that they don't have anything airing this season, hopefully no series gets the shortend of the stick in QUALITY.
Also, holy shit that red CG dragon is making me giggle. Almost reminded of DEEN's monstrosity.
I'm going to go into this series, enjoy it, then start comparing it to Slayers and drop it.
God I miss Slayers
Holy shit, they really fucked up the first character' redesign. Wild brown girl to dumb looking Miko, fuck you team
Turning Urobuchi's into an ara ara was pretty smart, though.
You should actually read what the character is about before making a judgment call. He has a curse that destroy everything after one use, that is why he carries many swords. Swallow is actually a pretty good character.
Both were literally the best thing in the TRPG session.
>He has a curse that destroy everything after one use, that is why he carries many swords. Swallow is actually a pretty good character.
Is that the reason why he's a good character or is there more to that? Cause I'd have to pity your shit taste if something so style-over-substance makes you think the character is good.
Remember - brevity is the soul of wit. Never on Nasu's book I guess though, because he's a trashy LN tier writer.
Swallow himself's not a bad character. I cringed when I first saw his design, but his ability and personality/life are pretty well meshed-together. It's not godly or anything, but he's a pretty solid character on the whole.
Now, Narita's character. That fucker is unironically the best-made character out of the bunch by a fair margin. Fucking Narita.
>Both were literally the best thing in the TRPG session.
This. While I've only read some of the transcript but it looked like the other characters were a bit boring.
Uro was always scheming and taking risks, Nasu had great fights, a maid and contrasts perfectly well with Uro's character.
You can probably find translations on BL, if you can't read moon. I think Reiu said they're working on translating the character materials and other stuff, but I'm pretty sure a decent chunk of it's in English by now.
For raw stuff, I've actually got shit to do, but I'll upload what I've got saved later, if this thread's still a thing. It shouldn't be too hard to find though, if you want to look on your own.
No, the character was good because it was actually made to not step over everyone else toes, had a decent depth being more what the eye met, good foreshadowing and development and actually fit like a glove with the whole story, mythos and events on it (with Nasu roleplaying to make it that way).
Because even if he breaks them their potence is tripled. He is also in bankruptcy due to a wedding scam and his curse, so his maid had to buy his whole state and support him.
Silver Link did an amazing job on Prisma.
It will be interesting to see them animate Chaos Dragon.
I really like how they used CG correctly in the fights. By using it for dynamic movement of the camera, how it's meant to be used really.
Made the fights real action-packed even if they didn't have based Tanaka for that orgasmic sakuga.
Are you guys trolling me or what? what's good about the original designs. I honestly don't get it. They are ridiculous, in a bad way.
Random details everywhere that serve on purpose. belts, belts, stiches, the edge, retardedly huge armor that serves no purpose anyway, cause this is Nasu-shit we're talking about, they can probably block the same damage with or without armor through some asspull, it serves close to no purpose in combat most likely. I can only agree on the 2nd character's design I guess.
>Urobotchi writes fanfiction of his friends bestselling series to prop up his failing career
>Nasu writes the characters and plot for him and lets him add the gory scenes that he likes so much
Truly the hero /a/ deserves
His loli fanservice versions of Bokurano and GitS wre great too
