How long it lasts remains to be seen.
It'd be absolutely terrible if the new archive goes belly up and we lose everything moe managed to save and pass on.
People said there should be a backup archive just in case something terrible happens to whatever is the current archive, and I agree.
>It'd be absolutely terrible if the new archive goes belly up and we lose everything moe managed to save and pass on.
I'd guess that there are at least thirty people here that have saved off the archive.moe dump. If desustorage doesn't work out, another archive will pop up.
Do you think we could petition a university or something?
While I shudder at the thought, 4chan, for better or worse, has been incredibly central to internet culture for years now. It might be possible to petition a university to archive us in the name of 'cultural and historical significance'.
Alternatively, contact the FBI. I bet they'd dump a couple million to help out with an archive.
I guess it's time to cross the boarder to the 2D land
Some guy in the archive.moe IRC has his own backup of a years worth of /a/ and is willing to share. There (hopefully) shouldn't be any lost data as things are being moved around and prepared for a more permanent stay. You guys have to understand that many boards were left without an archive home (some still don't have one), and that a lot of work by some talented, dedicated autists is the only reason you're able to use the new ones on such short notice.
This site is probably just barely making enough as it is to keep the live posts and a couple days worth of archives up.
Frankly I'm not even sure what is financing this site at this point. Most of the time the ads are just linking to internal pages like the rules. I rarely even see J-list advertising anymore let alone anyone else.
So guys, there were some hilarious conversations I bookmarked from last year's /a/ threads (specifically when /a/ was shitstorming during Miku's appearance on Letterman), will I be able to find them again on this planned dump?
We ~should~ have the four months as well. Hopefully the upload will be seamless and the new admin will update the search/a few other minor things and it will be back to business as usual.
>Go to fufufu
>Just a blank page saying "bye"
>Check the archive to see if anyone's talked about it
Oh god, what's happening?
Yes. I found it decently amusing, and it's also decently lewd.
White is shit but she doesn't get much focus, everyone else is pretty likeable. It's also the sort of harem where everyone gets along, so there's no painfully watching other girls getting their hearts broken.
>Where will you guys be going now?
I don't know. Hopefully it's just the server fucking up again and the admin can put it back up. If not, I really hope there's some way we can at least round up the same people again to move to a new place. On fufufu we already looked at a lot of other alternatives and decided that we liked fufufu the best.
>Also is posting lagging really hard for anyone else?
It's been like this for two days now.
Fuck man someone was posting the entire mignolaverse in chronological order and I was into that HARD.
well shit I still love em for saving all the shit I will never read but still want to.
It's been extensively discussed over the past few days, there's really no need to keep this going. Even more so when several alternatives have appeared.
