The arc everyone's been waiting for begins December 2
Could someone translate Sugita, Sakaguchi's, Kugimiya's comments about the arc?
Depends of what you mean by important.
It really seems like Banrise's goal from the beginning was to animate Shogun Assassination's Arc as soon as possible. A lot of the animated arcs for this season were ones that help flesh out the characters involved in it.
Tsukuyo isn't in the Shogun Assassination Arc so I guess that means we won't get the love potion arc
>The arc everyone's been waiting for
Fuck that noise, not me. Gintama's been my favorite series for over 8 years now and this arc single highhandedly ruined the series for me.
I just hope Gintama ends soon now, a nice quick death is the best thing I can hope for for the series.
Well if the other arcs were gonna be as boring like the previous ones then i don't mind them skipping ahead to this then.
I haven't even laughed at any scene since the 2015 gintama started.
Why the flying fuck are they rushing? Are the BD's not selling well?
>The arc is directly connected with the following arcs.
It's connected to them, but there's really nothing stopping them from throwing more stories in the middle. The manga hasn't ended yet, so they can't really "end" the anime. They might do that in order to have some lighter stories between the serious arcs, unlike what the manga has done recently.
I begun to suspect they were gonna cut things when they skipped the episode where Zura takes pictures in a photo booth with a Shinsengumi uniform in preperation for his infiltration the next chapter. It would be impossible to have that chapter occur at a different point in time
To be more specific, in the manga, we have the Kondo and Matsudaira
being accused of the shogun's death.right after the shogun arc ends.
If the anime wants to throw comic relief stories in the middle, it could either leave the last scene of the shogun arc for right before the shinsengumi arc, or they could even keep everything the same.
Even though in the manga
they're being accusedright in the next chapter, delaying that in the anime for a while wouldn't be that odd. They've already gotten all shogun related stories out of the way too.
>This is the end of Gintama Anime
We're 31 episodes into this run. Assuming they're going for another full year, we still have at least 19 episodes - 4 before the shogun arc, then 15 afterwards including the shogun arc. The anime clearly can't even cover even just all the serious arcs in 15 episodes. I still think we're going to get random comedic stories after the shogun arc, unlike in the manga.
Thinking about it some more,I can see everything working okay in the end.
Not something similar with Anpaman episode happened?
They can always present it as a Flashback.
>yfw in the episode before the Shogun Assassination arc Shinpachi (and Tsukuyoand Ikimatsu among others) complains about all the arcs they're skipping, so they just do lazy quick recaps about them in typical Gintama fashion
That would be even worse than just adapting the arc properly.
Maybe they could put the comedy arcs in OVAs or as an spin-off series in the future. It would be better than having serious arcs non-stop until the anime ends.
From a plot hole perspective, would anything really change if the
Kyoto assassinationwere delayed by a few weeks in-universe? The what-the-fuck factor was reduced in the manga because it happened immediately (and it'll be a fucking bombshell if they do fit some comedy arcs inbetween) but I don't see it breaking the series.
Feigned Illness-1 episode
HDZ48- 2 episodes
Homeless- 1 episode
Shogun Assassination- 9 episodes
Love Potion- 2 episodes
Excalibur- 2 episodes
Kagura's Boyfriend- 1 episode (Might be a bit condensed)
I can live without the Guardian Spirits arc
Why are they even trying to do it now. That arc killed all the comedy of Gintama because of the fallout from it and it's been in generic battle shonen mode since then. No breaks. Shit just kept getting realier and realier. I don't even know what's happening anymore.
>People have been waiting to see everything animated
Nah that's just a minority.
I personally just wanted to see the love potion arc animated in all honesty before the shogun arc starts.
I don't see why people are surprised about them skipping arcs for the serious ones as if this is the first time it happened.
Will skipping to the serious arcs result in more fujobucks or something (or sales in general)?
I know they always joke about doing past arc, with the 4 revolutionaries, sensei background, and a serious plot. But that's essentially what the current manga arc is heading towards, Takasugi forthcoming.
Hoping for at least Love Potion arc to start next week. I want all the remaining arcs animated but that one's the one I want animated the most.
I'm talking about the in story fallout, you nutsuck. There isn't much chance for comedy arcs when there's a full scale war going on now because of the Shogun's death. All the characters are currently in battle or about to be in a battle and the Sensungumi have basically become jou patriots at this point.

Today is Kagura's Birthday!
Probably won't help it but have a drunk Tsukuyo.
They might, but it'll feel really odd squeezing them in after Shogun Assassination arc. That arc leads directly into the next one and the characters are still affected by it. It's a point of no return.
>Shogun assassination arc begins
>Shinpachi yells CHOTO MATE!
>"What about all those chapters we haven't adapted yet!!
>"We'll just do them later"
>"We can't just do them later! After this arc the story won't allow us a breather to do it!"
>"Don't worry, we'll just do like Bleach and interrupt the main battle with Takasugi to tell some unimportant story about Otsu or some other character nobody cares about"
>"You can't just interrupt the main battle! They had a good reason! They needed to wait for the author to draw more chapters! And why are you saying such mean things about Otsu-chan"
>"Fine then, we'll just show the first episode of the arc, and then interrupt it and not continue it until later"
>THAT'S EVEN WORSE!
Shit, I can see it happening. Through why are they bringing Bleach into this? Why not reference a more liked and popular series like Naruto, which is still going on to this day.
>Tfw the last gintama anime ended i ended up just skipping to the love potion arc of the manga and ended up reading the manga weekly since then
>tfw i was hoping the 2015 gintama anime would cover all the stuff i missed in-between
