>movie and season 2 confirmed
Not even in my dreams I saw that coming. What are you expecting?
Kumiko is the best Kyoani protagonist!
Didn't even watch the show but Kumiko is adorable
I want to rail her so bad
>Not even in my dreams I saw that coming
I would watch a 2 hour movie of just Kumiko making noises like geh and eeaahh
It didn't really need a second season, it ended nicely. But on the other hand, it's not like a second season can hurt either. The ending left it open for more.
I think it'll be nice if they put focus on the music and the friendship. If they turn it into a shitty romance drama I'll be disappointed.
>No such thing
Ah, ah, no.
>use proper words.
Alright. They baited (aka, attracted people) people who likes seeing lesbians in love with girls that weren't lesbians at all by making a shiton of scenes that seemed to imply the opposite but never went anywhere.
I love how everything has to be sexual on /a/, friendship doesn't seem to exist in your dictionary.
Again, there was no baiting. It's clearly stated that Reina loves Taki. Kumiko and Reina share a special relationship, one based on friendship. Even KyoAni flat out tells you that.
I think you're vastly underestimating how many people thought Hibike was going to get a second season. Most people could've seen it coming. I mean, they finished the first season with quite possibly the best way to lead into a second season. And it's fucking KyoAni who loves to dump budget into their shit because they oddly care enough about artistic value despite all their moeblobs.
It's not that you shouldn't pay attention to it. It's an important part of her character, as it shows her as a person who oversteps their bounds somewhat in relationships and as a musician. But it shouldn't be suggested that Taki and Reina actually having a relationship is even kind of a possibility.
2015 and people still think that a het ending is even a possibility. Kyoani is not retarded guys, they know people in Japan almost unanimously want yuri. It's one thing not making the couple kiss in Chuuni, but making the canon end in this case is going too far even for them. There's only two possibilities: yuri end or they'll play it safe and not focus too much on romance (which I think is the most probable).
>2015 and people still think that a het ending is even a possibility
I except it to be AotS of whatever S it airs in.
I expect the threads to be super shitty.
I expect Haruka to marry me.
The bird should have been a character in this show as well.
I don't care for recap movies but S2 hell fucking yeah.
It's one of the best recent Kyoani shows and all the characters were fucking great.
Nichijou S2 next please.
No im not.
>Muh musical seatings
>Muh mysterious lesbian senpai
Fucking overblown drama. Needed Japanese trucks desperately. Tamako was lighthearted and fun. Call it bait if you wish.
>mid-tier bystander protagonist is best because she makes your dick hard
Sensually touching your best bro and declaring your love for him is only acceptable when you're both intoxicated, otherwise it's kinda gay. Reina and Kumiko were both sober.
>Meets autistic girl who's natural talents/abilities allow them to get what they want and excel above others
>Said meeting motivates them into action
Kyon is literally a better Kumiko and Haruhi is actually a character instead of whatever the hell Reina is.
Nah, as an ex-band member, Kumiko is way easier to self insert into. Hearing her repeating sections of the piece over and over again brought back fond memories.
But if you want to cover your ears over my opinions that's fine. Any excuse for you will do.
Their interactions don't feel as fake. Kumiko wets herself everytime Reina talks to her. And I found their relationship more interesting, as Kyon acts as a foil to Haruhi at the beginning before it slowly becomes the opposite. Kyon being an unreliable narrator and refusing to show the spectator he's enjoying what he has and cares about Haruhi was a nice touch too.
I just want the new season to have a lot of little adorable scenes like that
Fair point. It's amazing how fast Kumiko hops on the Reina train. I thought her 'You didn't really think we'd make Nationals, right?' was interesting, but the second she actually talks to Reina she acts as if she's witnessed god and wants to follow in her footsteps.
1 or 2 cours isn't something we know but use your brain. It moved a good number of copies, it only adapted the first novel and the rest were held back and published closer to the anime, the novel series have come to an end but it's still fresh and KyoAni's given a sequel to all CFTK, and they treated Euphonium as part of that.
Obviously it would've gotten a sequel.
They also specifically aquired the license for anime adaptations. This might have only been because of the situation with the publisher, but it still means that KyoAni was interested in general. It was so obvious that a second season would happen.
It seemed pretty obvious that we were going to get season two, it was only a matter of time.
Season one sold 8.5k, so even if season two sells half as much, it's still going to be profitable.
And remember, this was a pet project by Kyoani. They weren't approached by a publisher to make this anime, nor did they adapt one of their works, they literally went out of their way to acquire rights for the anime adaptation just because they liked the story so much.
>tfw have to wait more than a year to even hear Mizore's voice
too many "it didn't sell 20k, it was a flop" shitposters
Filthy uninformed normie dicknip here. I see these sales numbers being talked about, but I have no context. What's a good number? How do I look these up? Are they based on BD sales or viewership or what?
somebody called s2 halfway into the season just because they were building up characters that shouldn't exist yet. Course this picture is updated with even more s2 plotpoints.
Speaking of the novels, wtf is this crap? I was gonna actually buy it, but it jumped from £12.something to £50-odd overnight. I guess they noticed it had a popular adaptation now or something?
Not visually appealing
Serves no purpose in the story
Where is a single pro? Every frame of Midori that is animated is a waste of time, money, and effort.
Being able to tell little side stories with small scenes and background stuff is something Kyoani is better at than any other studio, and something the author has specifically praised them for. Not just that they do it, but that they specifically go over what they want to try with her and let her give suggestions and stuff. It's something other studios would never do for an author, but it's routine for Kyoani. And out of that, you get an adaptation that even the author thinks is able to illuminate parts of her story that the book never was able to.
>best KyoAni protagonist
As much as I like Kumiko, that statement is false since she is at most only second best Euphonium (after pic related).
And it gets even more impressive when you know that the background characters are almost nonexistent in the novels.
Kyoani is really one step ahead of any other studio.
Well, I know I like Hazuki more than the more popular characters such as Kumiko, Reina, and Asuka, despite her lack of screentime (which I was so pissed about). It helps that Hazuki shares a birthday with a certain anime singer.
What's wrong with liking Hazuki?
are you ready for the ova yet? how much
I doubt it, there's clearly some weight and sag in the way they're drawn
I want to think the artist took a lot of artistic license. Kumiko is cute with a flat chest, her tits there are normal sized
I want to bang these two heteros with /a/ and the tumblrinas!
There's no reason for anyone to even attempt to converse with you as to why she's a garbage character. You've already demonstrated that you're incapable of thought
It wasn't always like this, there was people saying "do not sexualize the ____" and hand holding was still considered extremely lewd.
the OVA is about Team Monaca, the pool episode is season two
What the fuck is even the point?
It'd be like watching a clip show episode, but longer
How can Reina be so lewd in a one-piece? I can understand why Kumiko wets her panties every time Reina talks to her.
Kyoani recap movies are literally just a bunch of episodes strung together with 5-10 minutes of new footage at the start or at the end. Free money while they prepare season 2. It's also a good way to segment into season 2 without wasting time at the start of the show. Chuu2 had the Rikka move in with Yuuta scene during the recap movie.
In the case of Hibike, Mizore is an extremely important person in the 2nd season but they didn't give her any lines in the first season for plot reasons. If you didn't read the novels or the spoilers you probably wouldn't know who Mizore even is. So they could add a Mizore scene at the end of the recap movie.
Cactus. You barely need to water a cactus. Bonsai require meticulous care and constant tirmming.
I never understood how the oboe worked when I was in band.
s2 will introduce the girl that Natsuki has a crush on
who isn't RIbbon
Kumiko: I’ve been talking to a lot of the second year students and I now I decided that I want to help. Like you, I want to help Nozomi senpai get back into the club. But after talking to everyones stories, I’m not sure if that’s the right thing to do anymore.
Natsuki:.... so now you want to hear my story?
>Nozomi stops walking and they’re standing in the parking lot of the train station
Natsuki: Nozomi, I’ve always admired her
>Natsuki starts to blush a little at what she just said
Natsuki: I don’t like bothersome things so I’ve always avoided things like clubs. That was pretty fun and comfortable. But, during my middle school graduation ceremony, I thought to myself. Just what have I done these three years?
Natsuki: Nozomi was the president of the wind ensemble club, the exact opposite of me, hot blooded and passionate. During the graduation ceremony all of the kids from the Wind Ensemble club were crying and I thought they were all idiots since they were going to the same highschool anyway.
>But says Natsuki
Natsuki: I was a little jealous of them. So in highschool I decided to join the same club as them. And then before I realized it, I ended up playing this strange instrument called a euphonium.
Kumiko: You really like Nozomi senpai don’t you?
>Natsuki smiles without saying anything and they start walking again, Kumiko by Natsuki’s side this time
The shitposting threads were great, but it kinda ruined the series for me.
/u/ already banned Hibike so we don't have to worry about that next season
Ribbons deserves everything bad that happens to her
reminder that Ribbon is the true hero of volume 2
I don't get this reasoning. Midori was built up as being interested in Tamako, and that was never contradicted. It was disappointing for yurifags that she didn't win, but it's not like she stopped being presented as a lesbian in the process.
Reina's subplot in s2 is the fact that Niiyama sensei, an extremely attractive and young female instructor (in her 20s I think), is invited to help them teach. The only problem is that Niiyama sensei and Taki sensei are very close, too close.
>Kyoani christmas cake inbound
baka senpai desu
the funny thing is that Niiyama sensei disappears after volume 2
Niiyama sensei is also married
Do you think season two will just cover the second novel?
I hope that it's 26 episodes and that it covers everything
Natsuki (and Ribbon) are very important in the second season. Like imagine a scene as big as the audition drama, but replaced Kaori and Reina with Natsuki and Ribbon, they would be that important.
seal chan is part of the OVA
>K-ON! - 13 episodes
>K-ON!! - 26 episodes
>Hibike! Euphonium -13 episodes
>Hibike!! Euphonium - 26 episodes
>K-ON! - 56,700 sale
>Hibike! - 8,300 sale
somebody about being deficient in calcium
Tenor Saxophone so I can date Aoi while Takigawa dates the other girl
technically they said "road to nationals" in the trailer, it could be just volume 2. But if they're making a sequel to this show ALREADY, I really doubt they're not going to finish it at some point since basically every Kyoani IP has an "ending"
There's also volume 3 flags that appeared
Tenor sax because best boy and they look like a pretty good group in general.
Oboe and Fagott because a buddy of mine played bassoon back in higschool and I feel like I'd owe it to him. Plus two of the best girls are there.
Percussion because they look like they have the most fun of anyone.
Which Euphonium would you blow?
A throw up between Reina or Natsuki.
Two hottest girls.
That feeling when no 10/10 high school girl wants to blow your teacher trumpet.
>Better than Kyon
why does Buchou dress like such a dweeb?
Is the story finished or on hiatus?
I heard that with the money she got, the author put writing on hold and went back to school. True?
it finished at 3 volumes, volume 4 is full of side stories and several "epilogue" stories. The author isn't writing anymore because she went back to school.
Here's the video of Eupho's TV segment that aired earlier today.
Which instruments would improve fellatio skills?
And which Hibike is the undisputed BJ champion?
>going back to school
I'm under the impression that it's really difficult to do that in Japan. If you get knocked off "the course of life" you don't have as many options. I wonder what school it is.
Probably university? I doubt she dropped out of high school.
I can't even begin to describe my disgust. Worst Kyoani show since Hyouka. I suppose Kyo now know that all they have to do is pander to fags. Good luck getting them to produce anything of merit from here on out.
>all they have to do is pander to fags
KyoAni have always pandered to a certain demographic wether it be moefags, Fujos, or yurifags. Don't get upset just because this show doesn't pander to you.
also Hibike and Hyouka are the best KyoAni shows
I can't wait for more poetry.
Life isn't anime, Bill.
Just rock up with money and ask for a fee paying position, done.
>unironically liking hyouka despite it being dull as shit
>thinking pandering to literal fags is good
Like, I don't even mind full male cast shows with a girl focus as long as the story is good. But shit like Free and now Sound! are just entirely bait. There's fuck all substance. I came in expecting and wanting more grounded k-on. Didn't get it. Got hyped as fuck for a kyoani whiplash. Didn't follow through. The only thing it achieved was yuri bait (foisted onto an otherwise normal, heterosexual property). If that's really what you base the quality of a show on then I just don't fucking know.
You're delusional, anon. Eupho has no yuri bait, you just don't understand female friendship. The show is good because it's beautiful, has tons of lovable characters, and an attention to detail that makes it all very absorbing and atmospheric.
>you just don't understand female friendship
I understand it just fine. The reality is that red ribbon stuff in teh ED and some high tension moments that were altered from their novelised state were intentionally put there to temp yurifags and other degenerates. Sans these events they are perfectly friendly. I take issue with the fact that their capitalizing on retards but also that retards force this yuri shit on what is canonically hetero.
Both Kyoani and it's fans are fully aware of the bullshit. I'm glad the author's moved on with her life. I wouldn't wish to be her working on continuing a franchise being flooded with idiots who want something entirely different to what you're selling and having your work smeared for most people.
No, their intense friendship was taken straight from the novel. Read this scene for example
Which was actually toned down into a normal scene in the anime. They were just compensating by adding more intensity to a few other scenes.
None of this is yuri, it's just a beautiful, transcendent friendship that the author could only describe using sexual and romantic language. The anime stayed faithful to that.
Also the author said she loved the anime and felt like she had won the lottery. Any talk about "the anime and its fans ruining her work" is just projecting your own sensitivity.
KyoAni worked with the author and she likes the anime adaption just fine. Aside from that I can't fathom why you'd care about her work being "smeared" when there's "fuck all substance." I came in expecting K-On! 2.0 and got a proper music anime grounded in reality. If you didn't get any of that and didn't enjoy the show, then you didn't. It doesn't mean others couldn't appreciate it for the merits we saw in it.
>is just projecting your own sensitivity.
More like expecting more from her integrity. So you deny that a majority and if not a large amount of the fanbase wants the show purely for what they consider yuri? You deny that kyoni did use romantic imagery and symbolism not previously included as well (the least easily rationalised by defence forces being the red string in the ED?
Other than waifu fagging and yuri worship how much discussion was there about anything actually narratively significant after it was clear whiplash was just drama fake out? I mean really.
It lacked substance.
Season 2 has not been confirmed by anyone except ANN and the shitty Jap blog they sourced it from. KyoAni only confirmed a sequel work, which is the same term they used when announcing Tamako Love Story.
Thought she was holding something else in her mouth for a second.
It's not yuri baiting because it comes straight from the novel, and novel sales don't benefit from baiting yuri fans like anime presumably does. It was the author's artistic decision.
They were being faithful to the spirit of the novel by including romantic imagery. The images are the compensation for the loss of some of the prose. Fans may still want the show purely for their interpretation of yuri, but you can't criticize the show itself for the behavior of fans. The show itself has no yuri or yuri bait.
MOAR HARUKAAAAAAAAAAAAAA yipee
my waifu is a supporting char
sad life i have
Great, now you're arguing that it somehow objectively lacked substance. There actually was discussion that went beyond waifus/hetfags/yurifags, the reason you may not have noticed much of it is because this is /a/. The entire show establishes from episode one that it's about the character's relationship with musicianship, a major part of that being the idea of working seriously toward a goal motivated only by their passion, desire to achieve great things and love of music. Most of the drama stemmed from completely understandable reasons and was well set-up beforehand thanks to excellent characterization. If you found no substance in this because no one had a chair thrown at them, then maybe this isn't the show for you. Practically everyone who liked this show got a compelling package out of it that left them eager to find out what happens next.
I'm going to marry Kumiko!
Shuuichi was underwritten because the author wanted to show that friendship is more important than love. Doesn't make much sense to me desu, but that's what she said in that interview.
A movie wouldn't be able to wrap up the story in any way. Kitauji still has the Kansai regionals to go through, so they're most likely going to finish the story with a two cour second season.
Not really. The highlight of the novels isn't Shuuichi and Kumiko's romance, but her friendship with Reina.
They left quite a bit with Shuuichi which picks up in novel three.
But seriously, I'd marry Kumiko too.
I want to cum all over the Hibikes except for Sapphire
How sad is it that they have to shove those other 2 girls in there? I hope they don't lie to us again and throw then in the opening around Kumiko and Reina like they're just as close to them as they are each other. I'd rather they be replaced by Natsuki,Ribbons, that blue haired chick and Asuka.
>This is too much pressure for KyoAni to ignore.
Like editors pressuring mangaka to keep writing because it can still be milked even though they have a story they want to tell and it goes to shit.
>How sad is it that they have to shove those other 2 girls in there?
Don't worry, KyoAni will fix this for S2
>more best girl
We need to get that scene adapted. It will be one of the best ever and consolidate Hibike as aoty, whatever airs that year.
Someone post that pasta with the author and her friends.
How long must he wait until he can finally give Reina a good pounding?
there's something disgustingly frustrating about watching people work hard and actually manage to improve themselves while others do it too but can't. I guess that's just cruel reality. Maybe we should just start killing people who can't get good to be passable and save them from themselves. I mean, say for example, two people want to go to college and work hard for it but one was better than the other through natural things and as such that other person is thrown away to a life of medicority and forever knowing they aren't good enough and will never be good enough. Wouldn't it be a kindness to kill them instead of forcing them to live with that awful truth? Nobody likes knowing they are worthless garbage.
or the less talented people can just lower their standards according to their capabilities and try to maximize them
being human is all about the struggle, dealing with failures is part of that
They can improve themselves if they work hard. If they aren't improving, they aren't working hard enough.
It's just that they can never catch up to people who have a headstart.
Forgot to mention that Kaori realized that she had her position threatened since ep 2.
where's that anon who makes the scan image look better?
please do your thing
