What's one stand that you really want to use.
For me it would be Za Warudo, Imagine how many shit I can get away with
Post potential Part V EDs
GANGSTA GANGSTA GANGSTA GANGSTA
What song do you think would be a good Part 4 opening?
Opening? No. Credits theme? Yes.
Seriously though, Dead man's questions is pretty cool
But I wonder if there'd be interest in doing OVAs or whatever based off of the Rohan sidestories.
Then again, I'm not sure if anyone cares about Rohan other than Araki.
Nothing to derail the thread with, but thank you for noticing anon.
Time to crash this thread with no survivors due to an overdose of autism
>STAND COMBAT EFFECTIVENESS TIER LIST
There's no meaning to the order that people within the same tier have, nor am I implying that jojo isn't a series where anyone can beat anyone through clever tricks. This is just general benchmarks for abilities.
>Omnipotent tier (Even a nuclear missile aimed directly at them might not be enough):
GER, Made in Heaven,
>God tier (basically untouchable against regular humans and most stand users):
Star Platinum, The World, King Crimson, C-Moon, D4C
>Oneshot Tier (Can take on god tier if they somehow get the first hit):
Heavens Door, Killer Queen, Surface, Superfly, Whitensnake, Tusk Act 4, Ball Breaker,
>Nobody Wins tier (the specifics of how this power work make any sort of proper tier placement awkward even if they can technically defeat many things):
Notorious B.I.G, Rolling Stone, Highway To Hell, Green, Green Grass of Home, Sugar Mountain, 20th Century Boy, Hey Ya!, Ticket to Ride.
>Demigod tier (can take on large numbers of regular humans and win easily):
Magicians Red, Silver Chariot, The Fool, Cream, Yellow Temperance, Hanged Man, Geb, Horus, Harvest, Aerosmith, White Album, Weather Report, Limp Bizkit, Boku no Rhythm wo Kiitekure,
>Power tier (large groups give them trouble but still very powerful within their effective range. Can be stronger than demigod tier in a 1v1 fight):
Tower of Gray, The Emperor, Crazy Diamond, The Hand, Bad Company, Ratt, Highway Star, Gold Experience, Sticky Fingers, Spice Girl, Purple Haze, Kraftwork, Metallica, Stone Free, Kiss, Diver Down, Jumpin Jack Flash, Scary Monsters
>Situational tier (requires a very specific set of circumstances, but is power or demigod tier in them):
Strength, Justice, The Sun, Atum, Red Hot Chilli Pepper, Black Sabbath, Man in the Mirror, Baby Face, Green Day, Jail House Lock, Mandom, Catch the Rainbow,
>I'm not sure if anyone cares about Rohan other than Araki
Are you sure about that? Because I'm pretty certain he's one of the most popular characters in the series. I'd say if we were to get OVAs they'd use the Rohan side stories, or at least the ones primarily involving him.
>Vague tier (abilities aren't explored in enough depth or properly explained):
Hiereophant Green, Jugement, Tenor Sax, Echoes, Achtung Baby, Moody Blues, Chariot Requiem, Foo Fighters, Yo-Yo Ma, Bohemian Rhapsody, Sky High, Underworld, Tusk Act 3, In a Silent Way, Cream Starter, Tubular Bells, Civil War,
>Potential tier (could be much more powerful than normal in a theoretical situation):
Hermit Purple (in the hands of a skilled ripple user), Thoth (predictions aren’t misleading or are properly understood and followed), Anubis (possessing someone that can easily survive fights and learn moves) Boy 2 Man (won a game of RPS against powerful stand users) Cheap Trick (If only the ghost alley hands can remove it without killing it's host)
>Assassin tier (very useful in taking down a couple humans or most stand users when they've got the drop on them or the right setup, struggle against groups and have little/no utility or defence for their user if they're taken by surprise:
The Lovers. Death 13, High Priestess, Bast, Sethan, Osiris, Aqua Necklace, The Lock, Atom Heart Father, Enigma, Sex Pistols, Soft Machine, Little Feet, Beach Boy, The Grateful Dead, Goo-Goo Dolls, Marilyn Manson, Tomb of the Boom, Wired,
>Chump tier (mediocre stats and/or overly situational/weak powers, a single regular human with a gun has a solid chance of winning if the stands user is in range):
Dark Blue Moon, Ebony Devil, Empress, Wheel of Fortune, Khnum, Love Deluxe, Stay Cat, Clash, Oasis, Manhattan Transfer, Planet Waves, Dragons Dream, Tusk Act 1, Tusk Act 2, Scan, Oh! Lonesome Me, Tatoo You!, Chocolate Disco,
>Support Tier (No actual combat ability, regardless of how powerful or useful the effect is):
Pearl Jam, Cinderella, Earth Wind & Fire, Mr. President, Talking Head, Burning Down the House, Survivor,
What is this, do I need to register on Bato.to see older chapters of JJL now?
Yes, you need to in order to view anything in full on there now
That frustrates me greatly.
I guess he was just painting Jotaro, and then when he painted over his leg he was also sending a thin strand of Hiereophant Green to attack him.
Kakyoin's fights probably would've been a little more interesting if he was able to attack someone by drawing red lines over a painting of them.
it can be assumed that kakyoin just painted a picture while using emerald splash to snipe jotaro
because kakyoin is a weird asshole even when he isn't being possessed to do evil
You know, if you wanted more out of context Jojo...
>Rat that low
>Star Platinum that high
Rat was going to kill SP unless Crazy Diamond intervened. Jotaro couldn't even 1 v 1 vermin. In fact that goes for a lot of part 3 stands. Silver Chariot beat him straight up under Anubis's control and would've won without monologuing villain syndrome.
Jolyne - Fly high with Gucci.
Which words fail to describe.
Scary Monsters and Metallica belong in demigod tier imo. Especially SM is pretty much unbeatable once it gets enough minions, by the end of SBR a single touch from Diego could instantly transform a person into a lamp.
This doesn't take into account the actual events of the fights (because those are effected by the whims of whatever araki thinks would make for the coolest fight scene like jotaro being shit at stopping time for part 4 so there's actual drama), just the powers they've displayed at any point
ratt is strong against 1/2 people when it has a really good snipers perch, but if jotaro or josuke fought it in any other terrain or with several buddies with guns it would've ate shit
metallica doesn't really have the ability to take on large crowds, does it?
I actually did originally have scary monsters in demigod but I felt that having to build up a dinosaur army is a pretty situational ability and without it he has a pretty bad weakness to people that can properly stay out of range
Serious question, /a/. Please consider it.
Is there a single part where Araki doesn't introduce a concept only to completely ignore it or outright contradict it later? Is there any part where the beginning has even the faintest resemblance to the ending?
Can you give an example of what you're talking about?
vampire dio, he can make minions faster, his minions are much more durable than the dinosaurs and in a 1v1 fight dino dio doesn't really have an answer to getting frozen or laser eyes
Dinosaur Diego doesn't have Space Ripper Stingy Eyes and can't freeze people. Being able to instantly freeze anything he touches, along with his ability to do the whole vein tentacle shit, are arguably his most dangerous powers.
This is an amazing pick. I'm going to be so disappointed when the show eventually airs and this isn't in there anywhere.
The obvious choice is MiH, since it will allow you to do anything other Stands can once you make yourself God. However, The World is my favorite Stand and i would love to have it.
Wouldn't mind being a Vampire either.
planet waves is really bad and the fact that jolyne had any trouble with it was a combination of survivor and the fact that jolyne has anti plot armor
it's power isn't shooting meteors, it's drawing meteores to it's own body and then having them avoid hitting it at the last moment meaning that you have to get someone in a wrestling lock like that prison guard did to hit anyone with them
as an actual punchghost it's not shown to be anything impressive, just because you have a humanoid stand doesn't mean you're automatically able to stop bullets likejotaro can
And thus, Joseph is best JoJo.
Think about Part 5. Any attack directed at something Giorno has brought to life is redirected at the attacker. Happened once and promptly forgotten. When Giorno hits a person with his ability, their consciousness goes out of control, but their body slows down by comparison. Happened once then promptly forgotten. Two examples off the top of my head from just one part. It happens throughout JoJo.
So guys, I haven't watched it yet, but is SC anime a bad adaptation of the manga?
Because looking back, the manga itself is a little longer than both Part 1 and 2 combined, but that doesn't mean it would require an entire extra 24 episodes.
Knowing that, I'm incredibly hesitant to watch it. Especially since I didn't like Part 3 that much in the first place.
people using their stands power in a unique way isn't really dropping a point though, because most of the time a situation where the ability would be useful without being a boring instant win button doesn't happen more than when it's first introduced
I was always intrigued by the colorful, nonsensical, flamboyant violence I had seen in glancing over time, and then one day a while back a friend sat me down and had me watch the 2012 anime in a weekend. I fell in love with the really smart fight scenes, the sense of style, and all the musical references. Watching the anime helped since the music really hooked me too (especially the ED, Roundabout is amazing). Subsequent parts keep up all the things I love in their own ways.
The SC anime is pretty much a panel to panel adaptation, everything, the good and the bad is all there, but it leaves most stand fights taking 2 episodes each and the pacing is all over for the sake of getting everything in.
>is SC anime a bad adaptation of the manga?
That's not the point, though. Araki continually introduces powers, abilities, even characters, only to conveniently forget they exist later because it would make things too easy.
In other words, he's a hack. The true father of modern shounen.
my human nigga, that's what sucked me into TTGL
I started Jojo because OP looked super cool
Thinking about it, Araki should've had Joseph and Jotaro face Alessi and then let Polnareff and Avdol fight Mariah. A quick return of Young Joseph would've been neat. Better than babby Polnareff taking a shit, at least.
>A quick return of Young Joseph would've been neat
He didn't do that for the same reason he dumbed Joseph down and made him job so much: he'd COMPLETELY overshadow Jotaro otherwise.
Agreed. Wheel of Fortune only looked like a chump because it went toe-to-toe with Star Platinum and got rekt. I think a lot of stands would have a bit of trouble fighting WoF.
Oh, and about part 3:
>While he began plotting for this part, Araki first pitched it as a modern retelling of Dracula. >There was only one person in the room who thought it was a good idea; the rest were utterly confused. His editors told him to have at least one Japanese character/story arc prior to this part, as they felt the story had too many foreign characters and settings for the comic's target audience.
Jump ruins everything?
old joseph showing up would be lame as hell, he'd just go LOL YOUR NEXT WORDS WOULD BE and punch him in the face and that would be it. it would be no different from a DBZ fight where goku powers up and then ends the fight in two seconds
most of the fights in part 3 are based on horror films and that includes alessi. plus it led to polnareff having to leave that egyptian QT behind which is a really neat scene
Wheel of Fortune was one I wasn't really sure where to put to be honest.
Can he stop someone just shooting him through the window and wasting the user?
I'm not saying Jojo is bad, but the writing is "who gives a fuck" tier. What makes it good outside of the fights and Araki's weird ideas is the sincerity behind the story and the characters, they're not realistic but they feel genuine things seem natural.
I assume that one of Wheel of Fortune's many abilities it can add to a car is the ability to roll up the windows. I think the user is just really eager to show off his swole arms.
>they're not realistic but they feel genuine things seem natural
Could not have put it better into words myself.
So what I'm trying to get at is, if Part 3s pacing was absolute dogshit, I'm worried about future parts.
I assume they'll stick to the whole "48 episodes" bullshit, even if there's not enough content for that at all. For DiU, it'll be fine, because there's a lot more ground to cover. But VA and SO will be totally fucked over, won't they? Assuming, of course, SO even gets an anime, which is somewhat doubtful.
>he'd just go LOL YOUR NEXT WORDS WOULD BE and punch him in the face and that would be it.
Did...did you even read Part 2?
>a DBZ fight where goku powers up and then ends the fight in two seconds
Now I know you're just pretending. No DBZ fight ends in less than fifteen episodes.
>no Jonathan flashback when DIO died
>no OP played
what the fuck
I wasn't talking about the open window, just if he could harden the windows enough to properly defend himself without making him blinded
>Did...did you even read Part 2?
Yes, and every single fight was joseph prancing around doing silly things until suddenly he goes ACTUALLY I WAS TRICKING U THEW WHOLE TIME and a random weapon/environmental hazard he pulled out of his asshole smacks them in the face and he wins
>No DBZ fight ends in less than fifteen episodes.
how many dbz movies are just "the heroes get smacked around for 40 minutes, then goku powers up and kills the guy in one move and everyone goes home"
you're being way to pedantic trying to defend this lame idea
Any oldfags here remember watching these and thinking they were the closes we where ever going to get to the real thing?
Can't find the Part 5 one now, that one was the best.
Ways you'd improve Jojo.
>Joseph actually dies in part 3 and uses Final Ripple to give Jotaro and advantage at the begining of the fight somehow
>Polnareff's interference is actually useful and saves Jotaro like in the OVA
>Jonathan's spirit outright fucks overDIO at the climax of the fight by taking over the body for a split second, just long enough to stop the finishing blow DIO was delivering and give Jotaro an opening
Basically i want DIO's defeat to be the work of all the Joestars, rather then Jotaro just going John Cena and making DIO look bad by overcoming everything thrown at him despite DIO having every advantage in the book
>rather then Jotaro just going John Cena and making DIO look bad by overcoming everything thrown at him despite DIO having every advantage in the book
DIO lost because he was a pussy and was scared as shit to even attack properly, relying to backing up and attacking from safe a position. Jotaro on the other hand was agressive.
The OVA would have been perfect with a Jonathan reference
Dio got his Stand a year and a half before the fight, learned about stopping time a year later and managed five seconds. Jotaro got his Stand less then two months before the fight, managed to fight DIO on equal fotting, and managed a 3 second time stop minutes after learning about it. This is not taking into account all the bullshit that happened DURING the fight, like fucking manga stopping knives thrown by The World or a wounded Jotaro outpunching an amped DIO. DIO lost to plot.
So I haven't seen Jojo's Bizarre Adventure before, but from the openings I think I get the premise: So it's these two boys (I'm guessing blue haired guy is Jojo) who grow up and fight each other over some love interest, and then they get fire powers from the mask. But later on, in the second opening, they put aside their differences to fight bigger, badder enemies. Which makes sense because blond guy seems like a better friend character, like Sasuke. And we're also introduced to the main villain of the series (the one on the sunset), and some other love interest character. In the third opening, blond guy is gone so I assume he died, because Jojo's got a blue ghost following him around and he's a lot more grumpy (I like the coat though). He teams up with a bunch of other badass dudes who also have ghosts following them, and it looks like they're hunting down sunset dude for killing their friends. Them looking at the sun rising was a nice touch. This one was my favorite. And the fourth one just looks like the third but we see sunset dude was really blond guy's evil half (kinda like a hollow ichigo?). Which I guess is why he was such a dick in the beginning. Also, they have a puppy!
>Garbage art where half the time araki can't even bother to draw backgrounds like kubo and all the non-important characters have anatomy on the level of part 1 and most action scenes are impossible to follow in black and white without staring at each panel for a minute like one of those seeing eye puzzles
>Retarded story that takes forever to get anywhere and is nothing but jolyne bitching abut things and pucci rambling about gravity
>Lamest fights in the entire series because every stand power is so specific and/or weird that the fights drag like crazy
>Pucci's absurd plot armor where white snake has half a dozen completely different powers and he keeps succeeding not because of anything he did but because of 'gravity' (AKA asspulls and the characters refusing to finish him off for no reason)
>Objective worst girls of any jojo part because they all look like lesbians and suck at fights unlike the girls in previous AND future jojo parts who are both better looking and more competent
everything about part 6 just feels like araki was in a slump and getting tired of the series, which is probably why he metaphorically tossed jojo into the trash and started over with the new universe
Jotaro's just that good
he actually used up all his competence during part 3 that's why he's so OP against DIO and almost died to a rat
one of jotaro's character quirks is that he's really good at picking up on small details and quickly coming up with things, much like all joestars
meanwhile DIO is a literal faggot who talks big but gets dunked on because he doesn't have any real talent besides manipulating people and needs huge advantages to get anywhere in life, something that was shown constantly in part 1 and is reinforced by the ending of part 3
I'm sorry your homo lust for the big gay banana man has blinded you to story/character beats in this simple punchman comic but your stupidity isn't araki's fault
Yes, that's all true. But ultimately, DIO was a coward. He got his shit fucked up by Jonathan before and learned to not underestimate a Joestar. But he learned that so well he was being too cautious. He never went full killing machine on Jotaro after the idea of Jotaro being able to move in stopped time occurred to his mind. For instance, on their first confront, DIO has the upper hand - he's more agressive, thinking he's invincible. Jotaro gets BTFO. Then after the finger twitching thing, DIO gets scared and starts backing away.
The fact Jotaro was invading "his world" got into him.
Under World because I am a huge fan of history (currently majoring in it). Imagine it every human memory and every human event under your control.
Seiously, this is fucking pathetic. Oh, but most of all
I can't believe I'm even reading this. You might want to stop sucking so many dicks, amigo.
He also had much more experience in combat, after the hordes of renchman DIO sent after Jotaro and co. Meanwhile DIO was practicing with bullets.
Also, DIO was fucking dumb to try hitting SP with karate chops, luls.
Yeah, Underworld and Scary Monsters (Diego) are probably my favorite stand.
I don't know what I'd pick. Probably Underworld, it's one of the scarier stands with pretty much infinite potential.
you sure convinced me w/ those hot arguments
lucy steel kills several stand users despite not having a stand, is super important to the plot, has a cool character arc and looks pretty cute despite only being like 14 or something
jolyne constantly needs anasui/weather/jotaro to bail her ass out despite having an OP as fuck stand power, doesn't actually matter to any of the events that happen beyond being bait for jotaro and is basically just along for the ride, and looks like a transvestite with a stupid haircut
>he doesn't have any real talent besides manipulating people
>found a way to reset the universe
>has incredible willpower which allowed him to survive against the odds several times
>read Joseph like a fucking book
>needs huge advantages to get anywhere in life
>started as a poor orphan
>ended up an immortal vampire with godlike power and caused the universe to end
>I'm sorry your homo lust for the big gay banana man has blinded you
Says the guy drooling over Jotaro's cock.
> your stupidity isn't araki's fault
Ok, faggots, lets see these ''talents'' Jotaro has.
>Jotaro sees his grandfather die and finds out his archenemy has an impossibly broken power far outclassing anything they encountered thus far
>has magnets on hand because who gives a fuck and manages to plant them on somebody who's far faster them him WHILE for the first time in his life facing a stand that outclasses his in punching and is wielded by someone with much more experience
And that's just one small example of the bullshit that is Jotaro vs DIO.
The World wasn't faster, Jotaro got hit because he was busing planting the magnets. And he probably had as much experience as DIO at this point if not more. It was DIO's viciousness vs Jotaro's perception and quick wits
>He also had much more experience in combat
Which amounts to nothing as none of those Stand were anything resembling The World. In fact, Jotaro should have been at a heavy disatvantage, since after months of fighting gimmicky stands that are inferior in power to his, he encounters a superior version of his stand, and can't fall back on what he always did, punch the shit out of it.
Planet Waves disintegrates the meteors when they get close. The reason it didn't disintegrate the one in the boot was because the boot was blocking it from disintegrating the meteor.
>Jotaro got hit because he was busing planting the magnets
>The World and Star Platinum: about equal in speed
>Jotaro: peek human reflexes, maybe slightly above
>DIO: fast enough to easily react to fucking Emerald Splash which caught SP by surprise
How did he plant those magnets, again?
What? Are you one of those people that think Pucci resetting the universe led to the SBR universe/that SBRverse and Ireneverse are the same? The end result of SO was that everything was the same as the original universe, except Pucci was gone/the main cast were resurrected with different names and altered pasts as far as SO's events. Killing Pucci as he created the next universe meant that the Joestars there were freed from DIO's influence, and judging by how carefree they were at the end were leading significantly less turbulent lives as a result.
Planting the magnet took like a split second. Also he got fucked with that leg kick which showed DIO had better reflexes and speed from the start.
Also I liked how after Joseph tells Jotaro that DIO can stop time, he looks pissed off at first, and then after the time stop ends, his expression has changed to being shocked, because he could see everything. Props do David for adding that, makes the whole magnet planting thing more beliavable.
Is it bad that my waifu is Suzi Q?
>Can he stop someone just shooting him through the window and wasting the user?
Lots of stands have the problem of not having an answer for shooting them in the face with a gun. That's what makes The Emperor so effective despite being hilariously mundane.
Im serious I have a folder dedicated to her
>How did he plant those magnets, again?
He took less time to defend himself and more to plant the magnet while DIO was going full MUDAMUDAMUDA.
not like the magnet trick ever made sense, OVA's still the best
>He took less time to defend himself and more to plant the magnet while DIO was going full MUDAMUDAMUDA.
SP never went anywhere near DIO, and at the speed they were fighting that one moment would mean The World would punch the shit out of SP right off the bat.
>found a way to reset the universe
retarded asspull that's never explained, just like everything in part 6
>has incredible willpower which allowed him to survive against the odds several times
he says in the same post shitting on how jotaro has no talents when this is the textbook definition of the joestar bloodline
>read Joseph like a fucking book
if joseph didn't suck at ripple he would've straight up killed DIO when he decided to be a smug retard and let him actually attack him instead of just instant stopping time, not to mention him almost getting him with the hermit purple vest
>needs huge advantages to get anywhere in life
Yes, dios entire life is him being handed things.
>Saved from a life of poverty and getting beat up on the street because his dad is owed a favor by the joestars
>Have to cheat to beat someone at boxing, get owned in an actual fistfight so badly you cry like a bitch and dont mess with him for a decade
>Only became a vampire because he used jonathans notes on the stone mask (which was found by jonathans father) both of which he came across completely by accident
>Not only that, he only found out that it was a vampire making mask because he randomly used it on some, and only survived with this knowledge to use it himself because he was lucky enough that the sun came out just before he was killed
>Gets dunked on by a regular ass human as a godamn superman vampire
>Gets dunked on again by someone that's had a week of ripple training at best even though you now have sweet vampire powers like freezing and laser eyes
>Finally beat the guy who's owned you at literally everything your entire life, only saved from dying yourself because you steal his body and author fiat
>randomly meet enya who uses the stand arrow on you and randomly gives you a really good power
>get dunked on again by someone that's had the same power for a couple hours because you're a coward that refuses to just finish them off
dio is shit
Well, yeah. I've heard to many negative things about it, and have been wary of starting it.
Out of curiosity, is there anything else outside of the sun that the anime does better?
>SP never went anywhere near DIO
True. That's one of the reasons this trick never made sense (although he could have thrown it, SP is known for extreme precision). The other is that it doesn't serve any purpose.
>hey DIO you thought I couldn't move in stopped time? Well too bad, I'll make a plan to make it look like I can't!
>and at the speed they were fighting that one moment would mean The World would punch the shit out of SP right off the bat
instead of giving 100000 punches/s, SP could give 99999 and use the last one to put the magnet
the manget trick is an example of whats known as a kansas shuffle
DIO knows that he's being tricked by jotaro, only he doesn't know that the magnet isn't the trick itself but a decoy trick to open him up to getting punched
>jolyne constantly needs anasui/weather/jotaro to bail her ass out despite having an OP as fuck stand power
That's because Jolyne had the opposite of plot armour. She was destined to get shit on by the entire universe.
That's good. Real good.
But it served no purpose. Before the magnet, DIO thought Jotaro couldn't move. After the magnet, DIO thought Jotaro couldn't move. The OVA handled it a lot better with Star Platinum subconsciously protecting Jotaro in stopped time
You just aren't looking hard enough.
>But it served no purpose.
It wasted frozen time, letting jotaro survive
if he didn't do it dio would've just straight up murdered him and jotaro wouldn't have had enough time to defend himself
>The anime was awesome
That's literally the first time I've heard that outside of the youtube/reddit crowd. All I've heard is that it's slow, padded, complete shit.
But then again, I guess people who complain are the loudest ones, so I don't know.
>Out of curiosity, is there anything else outside of the sun that the anime does better?
The majority of Part 2 is just better in motion and the soundtrack is all around great.
The other two parts are about equal.
Sometimes little moments just work better animated/voiced. Off the top of my head, Yellow Temperance's DO YOU UNDERSTAND and Polnareff/Kakyoin's little moment in the sub with the hand signals.
>resurrect Dinosaurs with Underworld
Underworld really is the best stand.
It can do literally everything.
It's basically a burning down the house that can summon anything that EVER existed.
Fucking crazy. Donatello is retarded to have lost with that.
I've never seen anyone complaining outside /a/ which will complain about everything anyway.
And yes, the minority is always much more vocal.
I don't know what more could they want. They adapted everything with ok to great animation (well except episode 47 that is), added new stuff that actually compliments the manga and had superb voice acting. The only really bad instance of padding I think was that scene where Iggy is walking around, but that was needed to accomodate the fights in better breaks.
>retarded asspull that's never explained
Kinda like Jotaro surviving half the shit DIO did to him and managing to stop time for 3 seconds even though it took DIO six months of training to get to 5?
>if joseph didn't suck at ripple he would've straight up killed DIO
Dream one, The World would have defended him if Joseph posed any real threat.
>>Have to cheat to beat someone at boxing
>Using tehnique is cheating
>>Gets dunked on by a regular ass human as a godamn superman vampire
>''I can tackle vampires through walls'' Jonathan
>"I don't lose any of my strength with both of my arms and my ribs broken'' Jonathan
>regular ass human
Also Dio could have, at any point, sucked Jonathan's blood during the falling, and it's plot convenience that he didn't., don't even pretend that it isn't, it's literally instinct for vampires, fear or panic shouldn't have stopped him.
>>Gets dunked on again by someone that's had a week of ripple training at best even though you now have sweet vampire powers like freezing and laser eyes
That somebody made fucking flowers grow by being exposed to basic ripple breathing for about 5 seconds. Also the only reason Dio lost was that fucking torch which Jonathan used twice.
>>Finally beat the guy who's owned you at literally everything your entire life
Jonathan a best. Also he WON, what kind of anti argument are you making?
>>randomly meet enya who uses the stand arrow on you and randomly gives you a really good power
He traveled for years, with his charisma and luck he was bound to meet her. Also, stands are based on willpower, battle lust, and ambition (among other things), and DIO had those in spades.
>>get dunked on again by someone that's had the same power for a couple hours because you're a coward that refuses to just finish them off
He killed Jotaro at least twice in that fucking fight.
no sticky fingers? also hierophant could fit in to the first hit tier
>Kinda like Jotaro surviving half the shit DIO did to him
SP is more durable than TW
>managing to stop time for 3 seconds even though it took DIO six months of training to get to 5?
DIO couldn't use all his STANDO POWAH because of his wound, it's literally stated that he could stop time when the wound healed
>SP is more durable than TW
I'm talking about manga stopping knives thrown by a goddamned A rank speed stand and Jotaro surviving a barrage from amped DIO without SP defending him.
I think the limitation is that the events and people resurrected will always suffer the same outcome (though they can still change their behavior in the time in between their death).
Underworld is one of those stands which really needed to be fleshed out, and I wish he wasn't dispatched as quickly as he was by Jolyne
especially since he was the only of Dio's children worth a damn
The manga didn't entirely stop the knives since Jotaro's bleeding but yeah it makes more sense in the OVA version again.
>Jotaro surviving a barrage from amped DIO without SP defending him
I always assumed the durability was more or less automatic. Kira survived a barrage of punches from Star Platinum too and he's nowhere near as tough as Jotaro.
>I always assumed the durability was more or less automatic
That literally makes no sense. Star Platinum wouldn't have needed to defend Jotaro from bullets and other stands, and DIO wouldn't have been so fucked up from SP's hits.
>the only of Dio's children worth a damn
That's what I felt as well. I'm happy that he was treated as a bigger deal than the other two and given more attention, because he's the only one that seems to have that...I don't know, spark that DIO has. Not charisma, but drive, pride, and tenacity. He also has the body of a God and an actual TIME BASED STAND.
Given some time to master his stand and come into his own, he could have been main antagonist tier.
And I actually think with the Stone Mask he would have been one of the most powerful vampires, combined with his stand ability.
I honestly loved dub Joseph. He's the only voice I actually liked more than the original, although I'll give Patrick Seitz his due for being a phenomenal Dio. Pic related is where Ben Diskin's Joseph won me over, perfect delivery.
Having your stand defend you stops 100% of the attack, we both agree on that.
Having a durable stand should make you more resistant too, otherwise Kira would have died at the first hit he took. And not only him. That, or Araki's characters are strong enough to tank hits from Stands which amounts to the same.
>Having a durable stand should make you more resistant too
Having a stand automatically makes you slightly superhuman. But it's a plot hole that Kira survived. There is no way KQ, let alone Kira, should be able to take the kind of punshment that SP can dish out.
Also he was the only one with a stand which he had from birth right?
Weren't the other two given stands by Enrico Pucci?
I can't quite remember but the reason he was in the hospital is because he couldn't control his stand or something akin to that.
I wish they would have made him work with Pucci for a while (all the while planning his usurpation) and eventually being killed by Pucci at Cape Canaveral in a 3 way battle between them all.
Hey, but having both in one character could be really cool. Like really cool.
Oh well. No Bruford, Straights, Santana, Yuuya, FF, Donatello, Wekapipo or Hot Pants will ever make it into a game, because fuck CC2.
part ones dub in my honest opinion was phenomenal. jonathan and dio were both very convincing, speedwagon was a panicking mess and zeppeli was as ethereal as the original. i'd argue that part 2 was good, but caesar is downright horrendous.
joseph is okay, i suppose but then again, all i hear is numbuh one. kars is good though. makes me wonder if part 3 will have kakyoin and jotaro with japanese accents
Aside from a couple of 'Araki forgot' moments like Kakyoin's stand, the only way I'd improve Jojo retrospectively is to make the style more consistent in each part. The difference between early part 4 and late part 4 for example is worlds apart. Obviously that's just a byproduct of the way the manga is made and how long each part is (all spanning over the course of many real world years) but looking back on the series as a whole, art style inconsistencies are probably the only thing that /really/ genuinely need fixing without twisting the plot
>no I REJECT MY HUMANITY
>no COULD A MONKEY FIGHT A MAN
>Stroheim, Speedwagon and Narator sound like faggots
>Kars is shit
>Joseph is shit.
Dub was a mistake.
HE'S FUCKING AWFUL
I think his stand was natural, yeah.
>eventually being killed by Pucci at Cape Canaveral in a 3 way battle between them all
As much as I like Part 6, that would be infinitely better than what we got. I love climactic multi-faction battles.
Not the same person, faggot, but thanks for outing yourself as a memeing piece of shit AND a samefag.
Are there any more of these?
Check photos 95-100
Nah nigga, he'd be the best of both worlds.
Although he shouldnt be a transforming character. He should just be a vampire, since that is the most action he really gets.
>Plays like vampire Dio
>Borrows several of Jonathan's and Zeppeli's ripple moves, in lieu of ice.
>can spam stingy eyes
could be fun.
eh, his vocal range is decent. i havent listened to much of his other shit therefore i found it nice.
lets uh. lets not speak of him.
that's likely but a shame. they all need accents
>lets uh. lets not speak of him.
I'm not gonna say he was the most important voice, but he's a super popular character whose ONE defining (anime) trait is his ridiculously high pitched voice, and they completely fucked it up.
Did anyone ever upload the scene in the part 1 dub where they actually edited in "co-producer speed weed"?
IF SHE WAS NEVER THERE THAN EXPLAIN WHY SHE'S DANCING WITH JOSUKE
>Dio lost because he bided his time to increase his power, allowing Jonathan to develop
>Straits lost because he rushed to stop Joseph from developing, thus not increasing his power enough
It's hard being a villain in Jojo.
>We will never get Lolyne porn
This world is too cruel.
What if there's doujins of her, but they just never got scanned?
LOLYNE IS NOT A THING
SHE'S DEAD JIM
YOU ARE ALL LIVING A LIE
It's a pretty bad adaption. It's fine for people who haven't read it though.
For me it was just panel for panel but longer. I could get everything the anime was giving and faster just by reading.
I don't want them to mess with p4 so I get people who are happy when they change nothing but an adaptation needs to add something. Even if that something is just streamlining it. JJBA season one managed the balance fairly well.
We'll see how P4 does.
Goddamned fucking Muricans have such a shit language they butcher any other language they try to speak. Hearing weebs say any anime quote ever makes me want to go on a killing spree with how utterly shit their pronounciation is.
I think it's supposed to be a reference to this Milo Manara variant.
>tumblr goes on a rampage WAAAAAAAAAH SEXISM YOU'D NEVER SEE A MALE HERO IN A POSE LIKE THIS
>Spiderman drawn in the exact same pose years earlier
If i could preform a genocide, it would be on all the feminazis, white knights, SJWs, manginas and the like.
What is it about Kars and weird Marvel crossovers?
What confused me about this part was that this is early 1989, right? Video gaming was pretty much in its infancy at this point, and these games were pretty fucking complex. I'm not talking about graphics, obviously they need to make the games look better to translate it well onto a screen, it would be boring to watch what would look like NES footage.
Part 6's greatest sin was too little Weather Report.
Omae wa mo shindeiru
or I guessed at first, but what the fuck is that last word goddamn
Also, you know, squirrel.
I keep seeing this word. What the fuck is it doing in the context of Jojo? No,fucking seriously.
>leaves the effect
Except for when he changes the effect
Remember at the start when Buccellati got hit by Gold Experience? When he went to hit Giorno he thought he did but actually didn't. GER is basically that.
GER keeps the cause and removes the effect.
Another easier (for me at least) way of remembering is that GER returns it to the beginning. If you were to punch Giorno the action couldnt occur because any effort would immediately be returned to the default state.
Even without requiem Gold Experience is already a broken stand.
>can create life
>any action towards these creations is reflected back at the attacker.
couldnt giorno just create a swarm of bees or something to surround him?
Do you not know about the prototype of the dub for part 3?
I mean, it trumps all the previous parts, honestly.
Heirophant would be fun. Especially growing up with it.
>tfw kakoyin was the little telekinetic fuccboi
>mind control powers
>bling outta nowhere
>top-secret barrier power we didn't even get to see
Fucking hell man, that kid must have had such a dope life. No wonder he had so much swagger. Shame about The World tho.
I don't think this is entirely the problem. I am more than aware of the correct pronunciations for a heap of things e.g manga but it sounds stilted and weird in conversation.
If you're in that culture predominately then talk with their ascents and pronunciation sure. But if you don't think other countries sound awful and butchered speaking languages they weren't brought up with you're kidding.
Also I'm not American if that makes a difference.
It is because that means you're a shit talking try hard.
KC changes mid way and has no concrete interpretation, so you either want to fit in so bad you're lying or your so stupid you've deluded yourself. GER is easy to understand globally but due to only appearing once has a number of sticking points in contention that can never be explored one way or another now.
It would never happen. The power of time stops is no one knows when they happen, what people are doing in them or for how long. Long the other hand KC can see the future. He's just going to see some instantaneous change happen to him with knives, punches and what have you. Rather than that he'd wait to see how it happened and failing to identify a suspect skip it.
You literally can't timestop Diavolo unless he allows it and he wouldn't allow it if something happened to him.
Japanese people can't pronounce English well either, but at least English speakers can pronounce all the necessary sounds in the language. They just draw out the vowels too long so it sounds awful, I always get really insecure about my (Australian) accent because of that.
Could Homura beat Giorno?
Can you elaborate further?
Diavolo by default. Dying in practically every possible way without being able to do a thing.
Otherwise, those in parts 5 and 6 were generally pretty gruesome so I can't really pick.
Also, could Kars beat pic related?
No, fuck off gay satan
Thing is, if you do some changes autists will rage all over the place.
David Pro isn't the best studio either, they usually have crap animation in their works before JoJo. So rather than trying new things and fail in it, it's just easier to follow the manga panels.
They really are fun to watch.
These two need to meet and interact as soon as possible. Their personalities could clash in fun ways.
What did Koichi do to get two nutjobs attracted to him?
>karera said she was going to come back as a fusion
no she didn't.
she said she wants the rokakaka too because it's worth a lot of money and isn't necessarily going to let josuke have it or help him in regards to it
The fight in the burning mansion got me hooked.
Also I know he's too simplistic but I really liked Jonathan. Strangely enough, with the over saturarion of anti heroes I ended up being refreshed by a well written straight up good guy.
Why are there so many JoJo threads despite the lack of new chapters?
do you really think that kira, josefumi, and karrera went through all this because of money, also she says equivalent exchange which is said more often about the wall eyes than the rokakakka
It's a large franchise with a lot to look back on and discuss. Plus Eyes of Heaven is on the horizon and Part 4's anime was recently announced. There's enough buzz to sustain. Also shitposting bolsters the activity of any consistent topic of discussion.
Welcome to JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.
Plot lines are constantly evolving and the source text is not English. Please stop posing weak ass conjecture as fact or I'll add you to the list of stupid name fags to be filtered.
The concept of Heaven is different from the afterlife in JoJo.
「Heaven」is control over time, space,「Gravity」and 「Fate」 If you reach「Heaven」you can even erase people from existence.
It's my second favourite after SBR, it has a lot of flaws and Part 4 is probably objectively better, but I love the Stands, the characters, the hype and the sense of finality it has, it's the last chapter of the original universe and I think it does that great.
We don't know if Heaven and「Heaven」are different yet, or what this new DIO's abilities are. There is a chance that DIO achieved the concept of Heaven after his death and gave Jonathan wet willies for eternity in the fat cloud kingdom and him achieving that gave him power, we just can't confirm that it's a metaphor for a new ability and not the established concept of Heaven.
I liked it a lot more before I found out that it was supposed to be the very last segment of JoJo.
Araki originally intended to end the series on that note with the universe accelerating into a new state and have SBR be a completely different stand alone series according to interviews.
Can you imagine the amount of fucking butthurt that would've caused?
I think at the time I was a bit burnt out on jojo due to having read through it nonstop, but on reflection it was a solid part. Personally I didn't find myself bonding with the entirety of the cast the same way I had with other characters in the series, and of course the ending is one huge mindfuck, but after looking back on it I feel it was a suitable way to conclude the original universe. The Joestar lineage was free from DIO's influence, and while there were huge sacrifices along the way Irene and the others at least are able to live more peaceful lives. I just feel sorry for Emporio being dragged into everything and being alone with his memories at the end.
The ending to Stone Ocean hit quite heavy at first but it's good to see people aren't sour about it.
Are the people who unironically think Valentine isn't evil?
Araki isn't even hiding the fact that Rohan is his husbando anymore.
Guys, i'm worried. What if DP cuts lots of content from DiU, especially the characters that aren't related to the main plot, like Tonio?
One thing I really liked about part 6 is how unnerving it is.
Araki pulled out all the stops in that sense. It's not downright scary or disgusting, but a lot of scenes have this element of ... I dunno, I guess you could all it "wrong". It feels "wrong". It made me pretty uncomfortable at some points. All the body horror helps, too.
I don't know if you guys know what I mean.
DP didn't do that with part 3 and it suffered for it. Trim the fat, save budget from unnecessary episodes, make the important stuff look better. Anime adaptations never do 1:1 for good reason and I hope they've learned that lesson.
I know what you are talking about. Part 7 has it too.
If they cut out based Tonio I'll personally fly over and destroy DP's headquarters
I didn't even recognize Jotaro here at first.
Early part 3 art is the fucking worst.
