You literally cannot name a better rage scene in all of anime. It simply cannot be done.
>mfw link at current time doesn't work
>See your best friend say "Yeah go ahead kill my mates"
>Watch your mates be eaten alive
>Watch your bitch about to be raped by a demon
>Watch your bitch get raped by your best friend
Yeah nah ur right HXH was better
I honestly felt nothing at all in this scene. The writing for Gon's decent into full edge lord was so fucking shoddy. Why would he feel so strongly for Kite? He literally met him for about half a day and all he knew was that he was a friend of his father. Kite wasn't his mentor, he wasn't even really his friend. They barely knew each other. The reason he was killed had nothing to do with Gon. Just idiotic reason to rage desu, not to mention out of character for the seemingly happy go lucky 'you can't break my will' Gon.
I thought Kurapikas rage mode fight against Uvo was a lot better.
As for best "rage scene."
It barely was about Kite at all by the end, but you're a retard if you don't understand why Gon cared so much about him. He saved his life like 3 times, gave him a goal in his life and died because of Gon, of course he's going to care. He even says through the series that he wants to see him again.
Season 1, episode 12.
>Don't you dare talk shit about Chris that way
I would lose it too, Hibiki.
His goal was to go after his dad. That had nothing to do with Kite. I can see him looking up to him but that's not reason enough to go full rage. Felt forced and over dramatic for the sake of being over dramatic. Chimera Ant Arc made Gon bi-polar.
Did you only watch the anime? In that case i can understand what you mean, they changed Kite's role in the story and downplayed his relationship with Gon. Go read chapter one right now if you think it had nothing to do with Kite. They also changed their reunion scene.
This or pic related, and yes I know it's not anime
My favorite rage scene.
Get on his level
I don't know if this counts as rage but it probably counts as rage.
>/a/ bones this anime series to no end for its "intelligent fighting system"
>Most pathetic asspull powerup in history
>Justified by /a/ autists with some aspergergy infograph clusterfuck about "oaths" when we all know it's BS
>Why would he feel so strongly for Kite? He literally met him for about half a day and all he knew was that he was a friend of his father.
Read the manga. The anime did not portray their relationship accurately.
Regardless, you've missed the point. It was less about his relationship with Kite and more about him blaming himself. His rage was fueled by a combination of
>feeling weak and helpless
>wanting to punish himself
>his optimism and determination failing him (the 'happy go lucky' and 'you can't break my will' traits you mentioned yourself)
>seeing his enemy heal someone and show their 'human' side (something he's been shown to hate back in Yorkshin) when he wants to be able to blame them instead
None of these are out of character, it's just a situation in which his typical battle shounen mc characteristics are taken to the extreme.
>>Justified by /a/ autists with some aspergergy infograph clusterfuck about "oaths" when we all know it's BS
>justified by clear evidence from the manga and ignored because you just 'know it's BS' without actually understanding or rebutting it
Yeah, you sure showed people who actually pay attention and know what they're talking about
>Kurapika's deal is he gains an enormous amounts of power for fighting one specific group.
>If he uses his powers on anyone else, he dies.
>Gon sacrifices all of his potential, all of his nen, and his entire life to defeat one enemy.
Different levels of sacrifices, man. By a large margin. The more you're willing to give up, the more you can temporarily gain. It may not have been revealed in the best way, but it's by no means an asspull.
What are some shows where the protagonist is in a perpetual state of range and anger, but actually gets shit done as opposed to just moping around?
And while it's been a long fucking time since I read HxH, I don't remember Gon going full rage mode. I recall it being a lot more focused and controlled.
Aside from that. I was talking more of "Alluka can grant literally any wish with no negative consequences so long as Killua is the one who asks."
I'll bet if Killua asked for Gon's nen back, it'd happen.
>Goku sees his friend die for the 5th time
>Screams a bit
>His hair turns yeller
>Friends, love and justice are his fuel
>Gon doesn't even express anger
>He's so angry he's basically dead
>He's accepted that the only thing he now lives for is to kill Pitou right the fuck this moment
>Actually does not give a shit what happens with his life afterward
>His arm flies off "I'm glad I can be just like Kite now"
Gon is on another level when it comes to angry protagonists.
He wasn't really angry, he even said some nice words to Pitou when he was about to destroy her corpse.
The one time he was beyond pissed was when he lost his shit in front of Pitou at the beginning of the invasion.
>implying he wasn't going to kill Komugi if Pitou fucked up
Gon is a straight up G
>wasn't really angry
Fueled by 100%, pure rage. He was so angry he literally stopped caring about anything else. After you reach that point, what's the point of throwing tantrums?
Original anime captured the rage/horror/tragedy of the Eclipse pretty well in my opinion.
The music just makes this scene.
I literally dropped HxH in this scene, Gon is hypocritethat i cant even stand anymore the movie Orca have one better character development of one whale than one shit character.
were they empowered by Lucifer itself?
So much fucking shit taste in here.
Just because you want to be special snowflakes and not talked down by "/a/" for listing shonen.
Anyway, any moment in Fairy Tail when Natsu has dragon force and is mad because someone fucked Erza/Lucy.
Probably the best rage moment was when the magic games were happening and he burst in Sabertooth guild hotel because they kicked out one of their members for losing and then one shot one of their S class and beat their master.
>So much fucking shit taste in here
>Proceeds to list fairy tail
See this is exactly what I said in my post.
"Just because you want to be special snowflakes and not talked down by "/a/" for listing shonen."
Keep not having a mind of your own then
I like fairy tail.
But the series is shit on so many levels.
And having a rage scene all five chapters doesn't make them better.
Especially if it's for the same reason over and over.
ok, i'll bite, but try harder next time
after losing his country, after 14 episodes of hopeless battles against a superior foe, after seeing many honorable men die, this fucker goes up to dozens of technologically superior, invisible mechs and creates a 1v20 bloodbath of pure screaming rage and anger while going PTSD
>piloting escaflowne is suffering
I wish this was a manga/anime rage thread.
So many good scenes never adapted;_; also it was more of how he changed because of hatred that got me pretty hard.
it's got just the right amount of voice-cracking to make it believable and intense
I think he'd make a good Guts
I really dislike the japanese VA's for Gut's, their screams are never quite manly enough
My rage surpassed a thousand burning suns
I would say so, there was no mercy from his side
Not gonna lie... I'd be a little pissed off myself.
How has anyone not said Levi?
The only time he has shown this level of emotion and people pick Gon and Goku? Come on.
