how would you name your daughter, /adv/?
i'm thinking of something like heather or eileen
Terra because I like that name. If I ever have a daughter that's what I'm naming her no fucks given.
Good thing I'll never reproduce though because no female with have intercourse with me.
I think you should name her something that goes well with the last name she will have.
An alliteration almost always sounds nice, Alyssa Adams, Bianca Bustos, etc.
But my last name begins with a T and I'm naming my daughter Charlotte, no fucks given
Star is a unique name and sounds spunky and fun. Plus she'll always be thought of as a cartoon character, us girls love that shit. Star vs, shooting star, all that jazz sounds fun. By the way, when's the due date?
I just had a kid a little over a year ago. I chose Christopher and Caroline. Not sure If I have a thing with 'c' names or not, but I definitely like traditional names.
Christopher is about to turn 16 months and is doing great, thanks.
Im a wildlife biologist and rehabber with a specific interest in birds. So I would name my children after birds.
Anna (Anna's hummingbird)
Phoebe (black phoebe)
Allen (Allen's hummingbird)
Scarlett is a terrible name. Almost every Scarlett in history (fictional or not) Has been a useless slut. I only have negative connotations to the name Scarlett.
When I picture a Scarlett I picture someone smug and uptight and useless
Marisol (only if you're hispanic like me)
Marija, or Maria if I end up in an English speaking country. I promised my mother I would name my daughter Marija because she never had a daughter and wanted one.
I guess if you're American Maria might sound italian or spanish/mexican.
you shut your whore mouth charity is a lovely name for classy bitches. charity is a name for high society white girls who were forced to take arduous piano or violin lessons. everyone knows this
expect her to be made fun of
>hey has anyone seen charity case?
much this, it sounds fucking terrible.
you guys may have associations with it cause it's a common porn name but really it is the ugliest name immaginable.
that's a great one, it's normal as wel as elegant an yet not too common
>come on eileen
is not even a bad song or anything.
a taylor is a fucking craftsman, not even a name.
>expect her to be made fun of
>>hey has anyone seen charity case?
being made fun of builds character, and she'll be able to take it. charity will have a great deal of self-confidence because she was forced to accomplish so much at such a young age.
>a taylor is a fucking craftsman, not even a name.
you're thinking of a tailor. a taylor is either a philanthropist or pop star. often both.
Helena or Margot.
I like Margot from the royal tenenbaums...
It has nothing to do with porn; I just think the name Scarlett is pretty. I've actually never heard it used as a porn name... I mean, there's the biblical whore of babylon (scarlet woman), but I don't know of any porn stars named that.
I mostly know of it from Scarlett O Hara (Gone with the Wind) and Scarlett Johansson.
Eileen is a beautiful name. Eileens are usually very hard working, strong and courageous but also passionate and caring.
Isabella or Bella are also very cute
Vivian or Viviana are uniquely beautiful
Yasmine is pronounced Yazmeen and some people might have a hard time with pronouncing it. Mabel and Star have good personalities connected to them. Ariel is also a name I like.
Christopher is the name my fiancé and I have picked out for our son if we have one - I let him choose the boy name (which I've fallen in love with) if I get the girl name. I chose Layla after the Eric Clapton song.
Hyacinth, Laurel, and Wysteria--all plants. I like that they sound like names from the 1800s, and they all happen to go well with my last name. If I happen to have a boy, he'll be Warwick.
My fiancee's decision. For some reason she always loved the name Katie, and she isn't settling for Katie as a nickname (I tried to convince her if we had a second to name her Katherine, then have a nickname).
food for thought:
if you give your daughter an older, traditional name, especially one that used to be fairly popular with your grandparents'/great grandparents' generations, she'll get to hear a lot more about random strangers' dead relatives with her name than she ever really cared to know
...possibly speaking from personal experience
I don't think any girl with an old person name has ever liked or appreciated it. Sure, as a parent you may like it, but its shitty to give someone a name they most likely will hate.
This isnt an rpg or anime, its not about trying to be as unique as possible.
But go ahead and name your daughter something cringe worthy like sakura
