Long shot, but anyone know what's wrong with my dog?

>11
>rescued him about 10 months ago
>he had untreated arthritis, ticks/patchy fur, uncut nails

>Now:
>When lying on the floor, he will suddenly jump up and look back at where he was, like something bit him. I give him flea meds monthly.

>He has recently been chewing on my wall. This wouldn't seem that strange a behavioral thing for a young dog or one that has undergone a life change recently, but he is neither of those. Just wondering if it's related

>He sometimes won't stop panting, no matter how cool i keep my apt or how much water he has available to him

>took him to the emergency room the other day when he was having a panting fit, they did some blood work and said maybe a UTI but nothing concrete.

He's getting along in age, and I'm certainly far from independently wealthy, but it's not like I'm looking for an excuse to put him down. I just want him to be comfortable

Hey /an/, rookie rabbit owner seeking advice and possible comfort in regard to how my vet is treating my bunny

Took advice from a previous /an/ thread and set up an appointment to neuter my new pal, as well as treat an ear infection I noticed, due to shaking his head, and one ear always dropped. Was given ear drops on first visit to establish new patient, and found out his liver enzymes were over double what they should have been when pre-op bloodwork was performed on the next. Was told to continue ear drops, and to give an oral med to help with the enzymes. Came back...

I plan to either email or call the doc tomorrow and ask about things, and I'm trying to just learn as much as I can, to hopefully ask the right questions and obtain proper care for my rabbit.

Would it be unwise to ask the doc if they're yanking my wallet on all this, due to three visits over six weeks, with two more already planned and a possible surgery and follow-up after that? I mean, they charge $17.50 for a nail trim, as well as double the going rate for ear medicine that I can nab off Amazon,...

I don't have the attention span to read all that, nor do I know that much about rabbits, but I do have some words of advice. Exotic / small animal vet or no vet at all. If your vet isn't explicitly experienced with rabbits and other small animals, take it somewhere else. With anything other than cats and dogs, regular vets simply can't be trusted. Good luck, OP.
>>
>>2164887
This. Find a vet that knows how to treat rabbits. 'Regular' vets will just use a cat/dog procedure in smaller doses, which doesn't always work.

Spanis bullfighter, Victor Barrio, is gored to death by bull live on television, becomes the first matador to die as a result of the 'sport' in over 20 years.

Do you think it was horribly painful /an/?
Do you think as the horns tore through his chest, cracked his ribs, entered his chest cavity and instantly mulched his organs, he felt regret?
Do you think in those final moments lying there in the sand he felt the truth of absolute terror washing over him?

Why does the law about picking up raptor feathers from the ground even exist? Does it really change or prevent anything?
6 replies and 1 images submitted. Click here to view.
>>
The law exists because when a person is caught with feathers belonging to rare and protected birds there is no way to prove whether it was just collected or whether a bird was killed to harvest it, thus a blanket ban is enforced.
I know they're pretty but just leave them. We don't need them but other animals can actually use them.

So just to be clear, don't say "replace the rats with something else cuse they're disgusting" i don't think that.Anyway's so when they die,i want to get a bird but i want both rats and guinea pigs, but i don't have the room or money so i can't,so which one should i get rid of? I've got more experience with guinea pigs but the rats are easier to handle. So what should i do?
16 replies and 1 images submitted. Click here to view.

Guinea pigs are great. They're very vocal, social and interactive little things. Guinea pigs also live a good while longer than rats, so you can have a longer bond.
>>
>>2164510
but,i really like rats, they're smaller and easier to keep but i see your point. Also I do want a pet that i can cuddle.
>>
keep the rats

guinea pigs are easier to get rid of and live longer. Rats live 2-3 years, will cuddle with you and die quickly so you can hurry up and get your birds

rats are also way more bro and more likely to be used as snake food if you give them away.

What is his personality like? Is he playful, reserved, friendly, not friendly etc.

In general, its best to get an adult cat for an adult cat, generally around the same age. 2-6 is a good range for you to look in. I encourage people to look at the older part of that range, because they tend to be chiller and they have a harder time getting adopted. If he's really playful and active I'd recommend getting him an outgoing male of a similar personality. If he's more reserved and likes to cuddle...

Also as far as getting them to get along, the best thing to do is a set up the new cat in a side room, and let it chill in there for at least a week. That gives the cat time to adjust and calm down, and it gives both of them time to sniff each other under the door while still being safe and having their own designated space. After at least a week, you can open the door and let the cat explore the house at his own pace. Monitor their interaction, but don't...

Take the mother and kittens to an spca. If you can't, take them in yourself and get them checked for any mites, flees, etc. Then when they're around 8 weeks old you can adopt them out and keep one for yourself (keep the mother too if you can! Older cats are a lot harder to adopt out)

Posting old pic of my cat for fun

hello /an/, I recently took in an old dog (idk how old he is but he's big) and i've been having trouble getting him to like me. the only way i've been able to pet him is with a treat and any sudden movement he'll jolt. he always has his head down and will barely wag his tail and it's really sad. i've had him for over 3 months now and thought i'd have made headway by now but no. just looking for suggestions on how to bond, really idk if he was abused but to me it sure seems like it. thanks

The fact that he is wagging his tail is a good sign. See if he likes walks; that's how I got my hoarding case dog to at least start equating me with some small joy in life. Get a harness where you can clip it to the collar, so if he freaks out you will have two fail-safes if he manages to wiggle out of the harness or back out of the collar. If it won't freak him out, also add a slip lead in case the dog does get out of the collar and harness, but use it as a last resort because it will tighten as a choke...

>>

Slip lead is a kind of leash used without a collar, wobbler and Kong are interactive toys. Those can be googled so you know what they are. Ice buckets is my bad; an ice bucket is where you put food and treats in some container filled with water (I usually use chicken broth or beef broth to give it flavor) toss it in the freezer, and hand out the ice (not the container; use some hot water to get it out of the container) once it's frozen. The idea is it's fun to break away the ice and it's tasty. You can...

There's a note in the box this came from that's been folded for so long it's sort of fused together. I can't get it open with tearing it, but from what I can read of it this was actually a gift to Mr. Bruner from a Mr. E.H. Raymour, who found it near Jeffersonville.

My new pet cockatiel is tapping his foot. They look like spasms or something. I'm trying to up the calcium in his diet but does anyone know of any other common causes for this? Obviously I have a vets appointment but it seems to make him very uncomfortable, I hate seeing him like that.

He doesn't seem agitated though. He seems very happy; he sings a lot, spends a lot of time outside, likes to eat. He is a seed junkie though. I offer him fresh food and pellets all the time, he's just so picky. That's why I'm thinking its a calcium deficiency.

So, /an/ for the past two years I've been wanting to get a dog. I have a house, stable income and enough free time to spend with a dog. So I've come here to see if any of you can talk me out of it.

Maybe there's something I overlooked or didn't read up on and i need to make sure I'm thinking this through clearly. Shoo please,/an/ Red pill me on owning a dog

Sounds like you've got the requirements covered. The intangible is that dogs, mostly especially young dogs, are highly social and will depend on you to fill that aspect of their lives. Which can be annoying. Dobermans are sometimes called velcro dogs for a reason. They want to be with you always. They get pissy if you don't give them attention. This is minimized by ample exercise and good training.

Dog ownership turns sour if dog's needs turn out to be more than anticipated and overwhelm.

Why are you asking a question such as this in the slowest board on 4chan? Also what country are you living in?

306 KB,
Hey /an/ a traveling newfag here
I arrived in Azerbaijan yesterday and had a hard time sleeping because of some very loud singing bugs at first i thought it to be a cricket but one of the people living nearby said they looked like big black flies almost and they just sit on trees. So i'm guessing it's a Cicada right? but when i google Cicada locations or Cicada azerbaijan i find nothing. What do you guys think it is?

Probably cicadas. Theres not really anything else that matches that description and is loud as fuck.

That's what i'm thinking, can't find anything online though. Maybe it's just that Azerbaijan isn't documented that well since computers and internet connection is limited?

My cat loves eating those cicadas.
