>it's a "parents bring their 4 year old into the dog park and let him wander around" episode
Every fucking Sunday. There is a height limit sign just outside the gate. My dog isn't even aggressive at all but she might knock down a little kid if he gets in the middle of 10 dogs chasing each other around at full speed.
Selfish fucks. Even if nothing happens, you're making everyone nervous by bringing in your kid at all.
I think I'll make a sternly worded laminated printout to put on the height sign for parents
Yeah, they do this at our local dog park, too. I have pretty good recall of my dogs and can pull them out of a chase pack by whistling for them, but that doesn't mean the rest of the pack won't go on sprinting around madly and bowl some kid over.
And, having been bowled by my own dogs before, as a stalwart adult, I can understand how fucked up a kid could get, especially if they're in the big dog part of the park and a chase pack happens.
That said, I've had some really touching moments where little children have taken it upon themselves to... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>2253083 God, this is the worst. It's a reason I stopped bringing my dog to parks, in favor of sparsely used forested trails around my house.
One of the last times I went, it was exactly that scenario. A 1.5 acre fenced in area, someone let their daughter wander off right in the fucking middle of it, parents at least 300 feet away. My dog was still young, excited at tiny humans, ran over and knocked the girl down. Got her leashed and the fuck out of there, glaring down the shitty parents that lets their kid wander... I have become very interested in falconry over the past few months. Well I'm aware of the strict regulations and significant time and financial investments required, I want to know more about the hobby in general.
That's true, but cute bunnies and birds will stir up more emotions than crickets. But yeah, falconry is fucking awesome. I've seen it at Renaissance fairs. One got distracted by an actual squirrel and almost got it. It was pretty neat.
Tldr how do I get cats to stop fighting So I pretty much stole my neighbors cat because he wasn't feeding it i and was bound to get run over like their dog I already have a cat and they have always fought but now I am taking this cat inside and they are bound to clash How do I get them to play nice? My cat is much bigger and is always the aggressor Pic related is the little baby I saved
First of all don't throw cats together and expect friendship, you need to separate new cat to a different room for a bit, then introduce smells to your old cat like a blanket or such, in a few days take new cat to a different room where you can close him for maybe 10 min or so, and let old cat sniff around the room where new cat was living.
Watch some jackson? galaxy (whetever his name is forgot) my cat from hell, it will give you idea how to introduce cats and how to avoid fighting, little tricks here and there but it takes time I took my time to introduce new... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.

Also, question; a friend of mine goes to china in a few weeks, and therefore can't keep her 3 rats (Turing, Gödel and Cauchy , i'll call them the math crew). Since i already have 3 (Odin, Thor, and Loki (the gods crew) (pic related, the two last) ), she asked me if i could take care of those. I understand it would be double the time/work/food/trouble, but i wonder ; - is 1 m3 enough for 6 rats (even tho most of the time the god crew has access to a full room, and the math crew will... I've never owned a turtle and I know nothing about them, but it looks like it's just growing larger, and the shell is growing larger with it and the growth happens at the intersections and the new shell is white because it hasn't been stained with algae yet.

>>2252393 Rachael O'Leary (msjinkzd) said she breeds them pretty regularly. IIRC she keeps them in a small tank with an oversized sponge filter for lots of surface agitation and moon lights during nighttime.
Anyone had any luck with red cherry shrimp in a community tank? Am setting up a 55 gal with planty of rocks driftwood and plants/moss. Want to keep guppies , mollies and neon tetras. Am i wasting my time putting shrimp in too?
>tfw pepeople say "pets" but really mean "dogs and cats" >"I love animals" means "I love cute little mammals"
You ever faced scrutiny for your choice of pets? People ever considered your pet a "non-pet"?
I like rats and people find it pretty gross no matter how much I tell them otherwise. My parents absolutely hate rats. Tbqh, rats sound cleaner than cats and dogs. At least my pets don't walk on the table or couch with their feces and urine soaked paws.
Rub your cats paws. Just play with them and massage them so he's more comfortable with them being touched. You can start by just holding them. Your cat will think you're a weirdo but it works really well.
You should also start working on clicker training him. My two are trained, makes herding them a little easier.
>>2248840 Nope. Op should get what he wants, if he wants a certain breed in a certain color and a certain gender than he should go out and find just that. It's his dog, it will be his pet for the next 10-15+ years, there is nothing wrong with getting the one he wants.
I'm all for adopting dogs from shelters and there is nothing wrong with a mutt, but people can and should get what they want.

My girlfriend and I went to the local PetSmart today and found an 11-month-old black cat we want to adopt. I was told to come back Monday and fill out an application online. They have the cats listed on the website but not the one we wanted. However, there is another cat under a different name that looks very similar and I'm thinking they renamed him. Under his alternate name, the description says
" We are just now starting to see some signs of recovery, but why they have such a sensitive digestive system we still don't know. They are very loving little... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
I doubt its the same cat, especially if it's a black one. I'd be pretty troubled if the cat had seen a vet, was on meds and a special diet, and was still having problems. You'll probably have to get a lot of tests done to figure out what's wrong with him and it'll be pretty expensive. Personally I'd move on, especially since you've never met this cat before.
I was putting they're water bottle when that fucking bastard rat bit me, only 1 bites, the other one is fine. They are called Sarah and Coco, guess who bites, i'll give you hint, their name has 4 letters in it. Anyway, so, i don't think this board has this kinda post yet so, just post your pet rats and tell me what's the most evil thing it's done to you.
So, /an/, I have an issue. Our household has always been multi-cat in some respect, by which I mean our next door neighbours cat is able to wander in and out. But last year we ended up with a kitten. Unplanned but she was abandoned so we took her in and she won us over in seconds. As you can imagine, our 15 year old cat was pissed. Fast forward a year and they mostly tolerated each other. All of a sudden, our older cat is getting quite aggressive towards the little one. She is basically only allowed in a couple of rooms in the house or the older cat will go for her. We have...
