I own a Pomeranian similar to pic related. We live in an apartment. Ever since he reached puberty, he likes to bark whenever he hears people passing by in the corridors outside of our flat. How do I get him to stop barking or should I tolerate it?
I have a bookshelf in my room that I don't use 3-4 shelves on and I've been thinking about getting a snake for awhile now. So here's what I'm proposing.
Each little "Cubicle" in this thing is about 36in wide,12in tall, and 12in deep. If I were to add vents and access ports to each shelf do you think I could link all 3 shelves together with some clear tubing (and rough up the inside for snake to have traction) and have each of them have a different purpose (top is hot for basking, middle has the hide and some other general snake things... Alright /an/, can you explain to me what happened here?
>Go to petsmart w/ mum to pick up cat from grooming session >Waiting in grooming area when in walks a woman with two dogs >Mum is chatting w/ girl behind counter when one of the two dogs starts growling and attacks my mum >Managed to bite through her jacket, her shirt, and into her skin >Took about a quarter-sized chunk of skin out of her arm Comment too long. >>2029378 Without actually seeing the interaction, there's not much I can tell you.
Several factors might have led to the bite. The dog may have been stressed about being at the groomer. Lots of dogs get stressed/afraid about it and they can smell that stress and it can make them uneasy. This could contribute to the dog being on edge.
There could have been something small or something everyone missed that upset or scared the dog when they walked in.
The dog could have a particular aversion/phobia of... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>2029385 We reviewed the footage; to make a long story short the dog just walked in, saw my mum, and attacked. She's doing alright, thankfully, if not a bit shaken. She's owned dogs her whole life and really hasn't had a negative interaction, but I know she's going to be much more wary when around strange dogs--not to say that she hasn't always been. Just that it's probably going to be even more ingrained now.
The owner was freaking out, saying that her dog never hurt anyone, never bit anyone... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>2029393 Well honestly the owner being so freaked out sounds more like she was honestly just shocked and upset her dog would do something like that, than her trying to cover it up.
>pent up energy+separation anxiety could that potentially cause an attack? Not likely, but it could contribute to overall stress which could in turn have pushed the dog over the edge when it was triggered by something else.
That said, it's not fair to just claim the owner is the problem without... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
I'm posting this cuz 50,000 little lives died in terror, pain and confusion. Dying is bad enough, but its such a horror to think that the last thing any living creature has to see is so many of its own helpless, panicked, terrified and suffering.
My point is that its just wrong. Moreover, that it just seems unnatural to have that many animals captive in one place at one time.
I understand that its an accident and the rancher has suffered a loss. But shouldn't there be some added liability if you are going to take responsibility for the humane care of... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Anyone have any help or advice for finding a missing cat?
He's not usually out for longer than a few hours and he's been gone for around three days. Me and my family have posted stuff all over Facebook and we feel its been enough time to start going round the neighborhood tomorrow asking people to look in garages/under porches etc, plus looking in areas we know he patrols.
It was extremely windy and rainy new years eve when he went missing as well as the fireworks. Im not sure if he's been injured or spooked and ran away but him being away this long is worrying.
>>2029053 Throw something at the crate. Yell at him. If he doesn't shut up, open crate door, force him into a corner and stand over him and dominate him. If he still won't shut up, bite his ear as hard as you need to.
My cat just got diagnosed with kidney failure. He's been on IV fluids the last 30 or so hours and got most of his friskiness back, but the vet said death is imminent but couldn't pinpoint how long he would have. He's 15 and a half years old. For anyone who's had this happen what's the time frame your cat lasted? I'm not expecting more than a couple days right now, but I guess there are some medicines to keep them comfortable and going a little longer, weeks or maybe months? Just want to set a realistic expectation here since it came on so suddenly in the first place it caught me off guard. I don't even know how long it's been going on behind the scenes since he never showed any symptoms.
my dog went through organ failure and lasted a month after he was diagnosed.
but, if I had known, and I was given the choice (neither of those things happened), I would have let him go as soon as I found out. my dad hid it from me and I had no idea how much pain he was in. he was having seizures, he had a collapsed lung, he couldn't eat, he was incontinent.
please don't make your cat suffer any more, OP. I know it's hard. please let him go. he's hurting.
>>2029052 I'm sorry about your dog. If mine was suffering badly I would have to call it, but right now he seems to be on the mend from the initial blow. He was walking all around and being playful and swatting at leaves, but the vet said there is a risk he could collapse in 48 hours, or not, it just depends if his fluids dip too low. I haven't brought him home yet, but I'm going to stay at home full time to keep an eye on him when he comes back. I really just want a few more nights with him, give him some tuna,...
