>>2027692 Mutts are awesome, but they aren't always better. My own dog is a bully and lab mix and she's starting to show health problems at a year and a half. Her knees point away from her body and she has a very pronounced limp caused by this when she jogs. Her back end also seems higher than her shoulders, her eyes are sort of cross eyed/go opposite directioms slightly, and Im pretty sure her sense of smell is crap.
Don't get deluded by that old myth of mutts being healthier. Well bred dogs are healthy,... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Hate them, love them, don't care but let others get them? Some countries out right ban them like the UK.
Should GM animals that were created for research like gfp axolotls be available to the general public? Should GMOs created solely for pets be permitted at all? (i.e. most of the glofish) Should GMOs only be allowed for practical purposes like crop yields and environmentalism?
Personally I prefer a natural tank but I think glofish should be permitted and they can look quite nice if you embrace the colors.
A distant friend of mine has a cat she lets go outside (no matter how many times I tell her she still will let it outside) and lately saw these tiny red seed-like objects left behind the cat, especially when the cat sleeps.
The cat has been treated for worms orally three different times already, with three different medicines/methods each time, yet she still leaves them. The owner has thoroughly checked her fur and there are no signs of them, which has led them to believe that they come from the cat's anus.
In plain sight they look like tiny... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
This is from Jasper County in Indiana. Protecting his deer by slaughtering three dogs that escaped their yard following heavy rain. The dogs are non-violent and abundantly friendly. No risk to his farm. He knew the dogs owners. Proceeded to burn them after taking their collars off their corpses.
My cat started acting like crazy out of nowhere. He was shaking and running away from people. He won't let me grab him. He is now hiding under a bed and extremely alert, doing owl-like movements with his head. It came literally out of nowhere he was perfectly fine and then started acting like that.
No vet works today so I don't know what to do, help pls.
>>2027592 He was with me the whole time when this happened. I think it may be kidneys again. He was peeing blood a couple months ago and almost died according to the vet. That time he was extremely sluggish though, now it's the opposite. He is not peeing blood now but it's doing a weird "high pressure" noise.
Hopefully he'll be okay until I can take him to the vet the day after tomorrow.
Boston terrible x pug Yes you read that right. 2 sisters are looking for a forever home. A little about them they are 3 years old pug × Boston terrier we adopted them a couple months ago from a family who could not longer take care of them. They are very loving and if they could they would want all your attention...all the time. They have some obedience issues that we have noticed we have been trying to work on. 1) pulling on the leash during walks 2) barking (they seem to like to bark... Comment too long. TL:DR - How to keep a cat from peeing out of the litter box.
Can you help me with my cats? For a few months now, my white cat has been peeing places she shouldn't. At first I thought it was a medical thing, and after two trips to the vet, I found out she has crystals in her urine and started associating litter boxes with pain.
However, she has gotten better, and after some new food from the vet, she's been using a new litter box every now and again, but still continues to pee behind a trashcan or between couch cushions. Is there something... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>2027398 Ignore this idiot. You simply need to retrain your cat. Waiting months to take your cat to the vet made the problem much worse. Can you keep your cat in a bathroom with a box for a week or so?
How do I know if my dog in far sighted, or just not particularly smart?
I adopted a new dog. I've seen him watch and track squirrels from afar.
When I give him something up close even as large as a dog bowl or a bone, say if he sees it in my hand and I place it behind him, he'll lose track of it, search my hands and start smelling his way to it. He loses track of it and it genuinely takes him awhile to figure out where it is.
I'm okay with him being a lovable dum-dum. He seems to know what glass doors are, but he acts as if he's skeptical... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>2027314 >I adopted a new dog. Give your dum dum some time. I thought the shepherd mix bf adopted was retarded, but after 10 months of having him he's finally letting loose catching on to chasing squirrels and geese (partially my fault since I run after them just to see them fly). He hated stairs when we lived in our last apt, our new apt has none and he fucking loves it. Take him for hikes and see how he does there. I'm pretty sure your vet can do an eye exam if you're actually... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
