I currently feed my cat pic related, mainly because it's what the previous owner apparently fed it and I just continued on. She likes it, but I'm wondering if maybe I could be doing better (either cheaper or more healthy or even both). My cat is about 3 years old and is purely an indoor cat.
The best switch you could do is from a dry to a canned food. Wellness, Weruva, Instinct, and Wild Calling are all great options. Your kitty will thank you by living a longer, healthier life. Check out catinfo.org for more info.
My fiancee is interested in herbalism as a hobby, as well as learning about local plants in general. I'm thinking about getting her gifts related to these interests.
Does anyone know of a good intro book to herbalism (preferably one with a somewhat scientific rather than new age bent) or resources for learning about local flora? We live in Kentucky if that makes a difference.
I just put generic frontline on my about 3 hours ago...pet armour is what it's called i think. She's drooling at the mouth. I called the vet, he said to bathe her. I don't know how to do it, she hates water. Will washing her with a wash rag work? I need to get this off of her. Vet said if she's still Drooling tomorrow to bring her in for a steroid shot.
I'm at a compete loss. She's never had a problem with topical flea meds before. I'm also confused because it's waterproof stuff, how the fuck is bathing her gonna get this off?... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
What is the point of having a pet? What do you even do with them?
I've never had a pet, but my moher kept a dog when I was little. It was a small, white, furry dog that used to get under our chairs and such, and I never saw the point of owning one. Why should I get a pet? Not considering birds.
>>2022176 Since I am disabled and home most of the time alone my dogs keep me company and protected. Come to think of it I don't think I have ever not had one pet or another. I just feel better having them around. Like having plants.
Can anyone explain to me how guide dogs work? I know that dogs are smart etc... but the concept of a dog able to help a lonely blind man in his daily issues really blows my mind. I mean, if I tell the dog "Supermarket" he will take me there?
I know i might sound stupid but I really know nothing about this argument.
Kind of yes and no, the dog couldn't take their owner to a location unless they had been trained specifically to go to that place- they have no concept of what makes a supermarket or a chemist or whatever, and they're obviously incapable of understand street signs and signs on shop fronts. Once they've learned where a particular location is, they can take their owner directly there on command, but they can't find their way to new or unfamiliar places, the owner needs to give the dog directions and the dog then assesses whether it's safe to go that way.
