My gf has a bearded dragon that eats crickets. I want to get her a gift related to her bearded dragon. Managing crickets can be a hassle for her and I'm wondering if there is a product out there or something I could get her to make it easier. Or if you have ideas for a related gift I could give her, I'm all ears
>I mean, it can't reproduce itself, and it watches other watermelon reproduce in front of itself. Yeah but it's not like it has a gf/wife watermelon that is out there getting fucked by some melon named Watta M'elon or some shit..
>>2188040 I found a tick on my dog's ear and just pulled it out with a pair of tweezers. It's important to make sure that you get the head out as well, and to rub the affected area with rubbing alcohol or peroxide afterwards. Also, kill the tick by dropping it in a container of alcohol. If it's a bad infestation on your dog or if he seems under the weather afterwards, make a trip to the vet.
I lost two hermits recently and now the last one (who I've had for about five years now) is on his own. Can I bring him for closely supervised walks outside in the backyard or do I need to worry about spiders, ants, parasites, etc. I love in Nothereastern New England if that makes any difference and it very hot here right now.
>>2187901 Usually taking any small creature outdoors is a bad idea. Causes more stress than good. They are open for attack from predators like birds, foxes, raccoons or whatever. Of course they're fine with you around, but they don't know that.
Also, yeah. Catching something a sickness possibility.
Because most people neglect their dogs, most people don't do research and most people don't know the first thing about dog racing.
Banning something they know nothing about makes them feel like they're helping the animals they love, but don't love enough to take away commodities like puppy mills. How easy would it be to restrict racing? make it so racers can only own a certain amount of animals, have a vet check them twice a year etc? but no, just ban the whole thing. On the mean time, I don't know of a single place on earth that has a law... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
It surprises me how people can even make something innocent as cat videos come across as a tryhard attempt to get attention. Like what the fuck is even with that nipple sucking? Why is there a cat scratching his bawws and there is a frame of another cat with wide eyes? How is that funny? Jesus fuck dude, the person who made that lacks some serious self awareness.
Alright I have looked seemingly everywhere, and I give up. Does anyone know where I can get a full definitive list of what animals are illegal in washington? (and if possible also specifically in King county?)
Trying to figure out if I can have a crested porcupine, but I'm only seeing seemingly incomplete mammal lists and lists of exclusively aquatic animals.
Have found two of these huge spiders in the middle on the night on the ceiling. Don't know what kind they are and are having trouble online since Google isn't helping. Just wondering what kind they are.
These two idiots just got done eating a bunch of Spectracide yard treatment poison... Are they going to be okay?? I'd say try ate about 2-4 ounces before I realized that they had pulled it from the table it was sitting on....
What does /an/ think of having dogs in apartments?
I'm going to be living alone for the first time soon and I have my eyes set on a Great Pyrenees. I work from home, I don't travel, I have a reliable dog sitter, I go hiking every week and running twice a day. If I have to take the dog out every hour for the rest of it's life there, I'd be happy to. Thing is, I can either rent a house with a fenced yard in an absolute fucking ghetto or I can get a decent apartment somewhere safe.

>I can see how something like a husky or dalmatian would suffer in a small space why? if you get them enough exercise they should be fine. my dal usually sticks to one room when she's alone. with large and giant dogs you have to worry about them knocking shit over in the confined space of an apartment.
I have seen this bug before. I think it has 4 leags 2 by the side and 2 in front, like in a rest posture idk. It's gris and black, it's has a sting curved to hi the centre of his body, like a scorpion. I have searched it by describing the shape of his body but nothing came up. Any idea of what is this?
So my dog (a Pomeranian) likes to eat: Carrots, cooked carrots, peas, sweetcorn, green beans cooked, mashed potato and many more non-meat things. If you tell me dogs aren't omnivores, then i'll not know what to say to you.
It's okay to talk about fictional stuff on /an/, right? What xenofiction material do you like? Dislike?
I've recently gotten into Seekers (which is about bears) and Warriors (which is about cats). I always thought Warriors was embarrassing but it's not so bad as the fandom makes it seem. I picked up Bambi but I haven't gotten the chance to read it.
I don't really like how xenofiction books have something against neutering. The writers likely don't but the animals do. Animals irl don't care, and I doubt they should in xenofiction either.
I love Warriors so much holy shit. I stopped reading after power of three, though. Just became disinterested. The OG 1st series is beyond dope, though. I haven't actually read any of the books in years, afraid that they dont hold up. Which book are you on?
My rooster seemed to injured his eye and now it looks like this, he can still see on it cause when I move my hand towards the eye he moves away, most of the time he has it closed, what is that white stuff ?
Theres a fucking mouse in my room. It was under my bed and then i found it on the side of the bed touching the wall, like a foot from where i lay my head. I can't sleep in there until i kill the fucker. Whats my best option? I'm buying snap traps tomorrow, i have some poison in my cupboard but its pretty old, should i still use it? Also i downloaded a couple ultrasonic repellent apps for my phone, hoping i could scare it out. Haven't tried it yet.
>>2186971 if the little fuckers arent donig anything bad just cover all holes from walls, next to pipes etc; to stop thme from getting in.
Mice aren't dangerous, theyre just little shits that can chew on things. Your need to kill it is basically you being a pussy and afraid of a little being that is literally just trying to survive and stumbled upon you.
Until you find large concentrations of shit and piss you shoudln't worry, but if you do make sure to do anything possible to make them gtfo, preferably... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>2186919 >https://www.rt.com/news/172340-dubai-climate-controlled-city/ Yes, but thats a fancy novelty thing in an extremely rich country for the exclusive sake of climate control. Not to prevent feral animals from wandering in and murdering people.
For instance, periodical cicadas. What the fuck? They spend 13-17 years underground doing nothing, then they emerge in billions and live for only like two weeks before making more larvae to burrow and live motionless underground for another 13-17 years.
What is the point? It's a feast for lucky predators but most won't live long enough to experience it. And the adult cycle is so short. I just don't understand the evolution here.
>>2186568 Felids are one of the few carnivores that are actually pretty much exclusively meat eaters. Most canids, marten species and bears add fruit and nuts to their diet: felids not. So while I detest cats it is pretty rare yea.
Hold me, /an/, the local neighborhood friendly stray cat disappeared.
>everyday >for last year >leave house >cat would come out from around neighbor's fence >let's call him Panterito, cuz he's thin and black >would always drop to the ground and roll around, nothing but friendly >every fucking day >the same... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>2184809 >i have a question for vegans. According to vegan law if i can outrun a wild animal, pin it down and kill it either with my hands, a nearby rock or drown it in a lake is it ok for me to consume it?
No, vegans would have you eat it raw. Afterall why shouldn't we throw away the greatest hominid invention of ~500 thousand years old - cooking - that allowed us to rise above the animal kingdom by giving us more nutrients from food, protection from parasites and bacteria.
