I've found a stray cat not too long ago, brought her to the vet and turns out she is about 50-55 days old. Was told to feed her 35 grams of kibble and half of canned food a day. She barely touches the kibble though. We went to the vet last Tuesday and since then she only ate 15 grams in four days instead of her supposed 35 a day.
On the opposite every time I give her canned food she eats it all, barely have the time to give it to her and she already jumps on me to eat everything in the can, so she currently eats like 5 grams of kibble if lucky and a whole can of... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Just give her canned, vet is being silly, you could feed 100 percent decent wet food or kibble either way but of course the cats going to prefer the wet stuff.
15 minutes not giving more than half a can, that guy is some kind of nutty hack or something. Bacteria seriously... Don't worry about bacteria ffs cat eat wild shit they catch from who knows where... Just don't let it eat stuff that's been left out for more than oh 18 hours or so. And get a vet that's less ri-fucking-diculous. im sorry you've been hassled by such a crazy person
>>2019904 Seriously? Wew, I know nothing about cats but that sounds like bad time. I'll definitely go check another vet next time. Still I hope I can get some more replies about this, hope you don't get offended if I don't immediately trust some random anon on 4chan instead of a vet, even though I don't exactly trust him as well. She was never crying, scratching and complaining before I went to him and started not putting canned food on the floor anymore.
It's only a stray cat, not some sort of exotic animal that can only be fed certain things. If you feed your cat at the same time(s) everyday, the problem of your cat bothering you while you're trying to make your own food should go away so make some sort of feeding schedule (it did for all the cats that I've owned so I'm just speaking personal experience here). My cats always went nuts when I shook the kibble box or showed them a can of wet food.
The two lineages of Amniotes have been fighting for dominance for over 300 million years. Have the synapsids finally won with the Human? I mean, sure, diapsids had the dinosaurs, but can they even compare to humans? Non-amniotes need not apply.
>>2019867 Unless there is something that will knock us off all at once, then we'll just adapt to it with what we got. We would have to be down to a ridiculously low number in a bad environment for us not to explode again.
>>2019871 Birds fly. That's sort a massive advantage over everything. Them being 'less vulnerable' really depends on what you're talking about. Disease is something that spreads very quickly between social birds, such as avian cholera which... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
I found this guy crawling across my floor this evening in my kitchen. I don't know how it got inside, but I've never seen a caterpillar inside my house before, so it was a bit of a surprise to me. I'm hoping someone could tell me what species it is and if I should put it outside and hope it survives or give raising it a shot.
For what it's worth, I'm in Western Oregon, specifically Corvallis, and the weather has been mid-40's with endless downpours of rain, so I'm worried that it would just freeze or drown if I put it outside.

>>2019849 what you've got there looks like an army cutworm.
they're a pretty common pest, but if you'd like to try your hand at raising it you'll need some plants and some dirt. They don't really eat the plants usually, they just cut the stems and kill the plant. So if you want to fatten it up you'll need lots of whatever plants it's eating.
they pupate underground I think. So dirt is a requirement for them.
>>2019783 Dogs love boiled chicken the most in my opinion. Been using it recently to leash train and off leash train my puppy, and she's listening much better than ever. Don't add anything to it like seasonings. This is a list of what dogs can't have: https://www.aspca.org/pet-care/animal-poison-control/people-foods-avoid-feeding-your-pets
/an/, I want to get a cat. What is the best way to train it into an unrepentant, vermin killing machine? I know he'll naturally seek out prey if it's there, but I want my cat to be really good at it. Can I give it bloodlust it by using practice mice? Are some breeds better hunters than others?
Today, while I was opening the door to my apartment, a stray kitten got in it before I could react. Now I can't find it. I searched under the bed, behind the closet, etc. but still can't see it. All windows were closed. There is a possibility that it somehow got out out the door just like it got in while I was confused about him getting in, but in case it's still here, I have two questions: 1) Is there a way to get its attention and lure it out? Smell of food and "kitty kitty" didn't work 2) Can I expect it to come out on its own? I... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
