Any Anon's got experience with stocking a lake with bass or catfish? I have 20 acres of wetlands and am interested in stocking it with fish. There are already some fish but not many I gather. Notice a few storks hunting there for fish and have heard them when they come up for air.
I still live at home, and I have a cat. When my mom got him for me she said "don't keep your eyes off him".
A few months go by and my mom decides my cat doesn't like her, so she went out yesterday and got a kitten without telling anyone. My cat hates the new one. Following the new one 3 inches behind and taking any chance to smack the little guy. My mom says he'll get used to him eventually, keeping the kitten in the bathroom at night.
So this morning, my mom had to go to work. Kitten goes in bathroom. Then my dad leaves,... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
It's probably trapped somewhere. Kittens aren't very smart and your mom needs to fucking clean to prevent getting it killed until it actually learns not to be an idiot and get stuck in stuff.
But sometimes adult cats are fucking stupid too. A few months ago my roommate brought in his friend's cat without telling me. I wasn't around for awhile and by the time I came home he told me he escaped about a week ago. Almost a week later I found him stuck behind a shelf-dresser thing we have(he could move around behind it but couldn't jump back over it). We... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>2013188 It might start making noise once it gets hungry or whatever, if you're lucky and it's not retarded. Even so, it will be fine for a few days if it's stuck as long as it isn't hurt.
Really you're just going to have to toss the house. Pull out furniture, look under it, shove piles around, etc. If there is enough junk to fall over and hurt it, then well. Good luck. Pic related. I've cleaned out hoarder houses before, and yes, we've found dead cats before that the owners never knew was there.
>>2013148 They're neat pets for the dedicated owner, but I hope to god they never become popular. The average pet owner can't handle training a dog properly, and treating even a domesticated fox like a dog is a path to disaster. I've seen so many people botch owning exotic pets in my time as a shelter volunteer.
My cat appeared with pic related inside my house I managed to pull it out of it's mouth. It's a baby bird pretty much like the pic. It was yesterday I didn't know what to do so I left it in my kitchen thinking it would live for so long.
But just now I suddenly start hearing it's tweets the bird is fucking still alive. I have no idea where is the nest or else I would try to place it back there.
What the fuck I should do? Please no killing I want it to leave but no idea how should I feed it.
ground up bait bugs and worms or meat baby food ir cat food (blended) in an eye dropper or feeding syringe every 20 minutes or so for 6 weeks or until you get someone from a wildlife place to take care of it, overfilling its crop will kill it be careful and warch videos on handfeeding birds it likely will never be able to live outside

Just how effective were saber teeth compared to more modern carnivore teeth and why did it die out? Their bites obviously weren't as strong as anyone would like to think so they most often relied on strength and size, so did the 'sabers' of the animal world die out in favor of the smaller animals with a stronger bite force?
At some point they must have been some sort of advantage considering all the saber cats, false-saber cats and even some kinda-of-not-really marsupials had them. Was it just an 'advantage' at some point because these animals... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>2012925 Like Jaguars and Panthers today they'd climb up trees and drop down ontop of prey using their sabers (and the momentum) to stab into the backs of the prey. They died out most likely thanks to the ice age causing more grasslands to form.
There's an orange tabby I might be adopting. She's about a year old and her previous owners declawed all 4 paws, then got rid of her because they wanted a dog instead. The cat is super sweet and I plan to keep her indoors only (since she can't defend herself anyway), but I've never had a declawed cat before.
Do they have worse behavior issues or are more likely to bite?
When I was little my mom got me a kitten for my birthday and the first thing she did when I picked her up out of the box was go to town, destroying my neck so my mom had her declawed. She was always a feisty thing, even in old age. I did not notice a change in her personality she would still try to scratch me when she was pissed even though she hadn't had claws in years. She only bit very rarely.
The only problem we really had with her was that she would vomit all the time, like several times a week. Vet said that there wasn't anything wrong with her, she just... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
declawed cats tend to be more aggressive and go straight to biting when in fear since they don't have their claws. I've noticed they tend to be much more shy as well, which makes sense considering their natural defense mechanism is gone
many vets also caution that declawed cats are prone to arthritis due to not stretching when scratching things to sharpen their claws like other cats do
additionally, they will sometimes be very picky about what litter they will and will not use because of how it feels on the mutulated paws, so finding a litter they like... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>2012822 That's my problem, I'm ok with a mutt. however I'm not ok with a mutt that leaves too much to the imagination. > What breed were its parents? > Is this mutt off the street? > Is it just another fucked up genetic mistake that will die if I walk it more than a block?
Why is it so fucking hard to find a good dog, especially a puppy?
>Go to a shelter and pick an old fucked up mutt, a chihuahua, or a pitbull >craigslist cunts selling "purebreed akc but lol no shots or papers just trust me that'll be $600 please >Actual breeders, won't take less than $2000
I'm a complete noob to this shit. I just want a good puppy, not a mongrel, and I don't want to take out a mortgage.

First year wildlife student here. Already loving my this major and I couldn't imagine myself studying anything. Already getting involved and getting experience as well
<me with tranquilized deer
My wildlife school is fairly small though and in the rural south, so most professors and students are interested in feral pigs and deer, which isn't really my thing. So my question is for the wildlife biologists, as well as the students, on this board. What do you guys do? What are you studying and where? I'd like to get a better idea... Comment too long. So, I have had these two budgies in a big cage for the last two years and I never really interacted or tried to gain their trust. At first they would freak out just by being near their cage and opening the doors to refill essentials. But in time they grew used to me and let me be near them after the routines.
But I want to make friends with them, and the the green budgie is more wary so she'll jump or back away from me while I'm near. So I want to know how to gain their trust, become friends. I want to put my hand in there and let them crawl on and fly to me... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
