Anyone else hop on the REI 1 year warranty bandwagon. Used to buy my shoes online until I found out about REIs crazy return policy. Burned through a pair of solutions in 5 months, full refund, bought a brand new pair. Basically buy one pair of shoes and blow through them within a year and automatically get a fresh pair.
Notable Recent Sends: Gym- 2 V7 and 1 V8 Outdoor- 1 V6, 1 V8, and 1 5.11d
Been climbing under a year but have been at the gym 4 days a week since I started so I'm happy with my progression.
Also looking to get into trad climbing, picked up a set of cams and nuts. Potentially going to Indian Creek with a buddy to climb some cracks soon.
>>878900 Nice man, for me, breaking V7 turned out to be a huge amount of hours on my V8 projects. Eventually, I had every move so wired that it just went one day. Currently V9 is pretty above me but I'm making a bit of progress on some gym 9s.
Hey guys I've started doing parkour and I realized when I'm going to wall climb I have good technique and easily get Into cat position I think it's called (hands on ledge, extended arms, feet on wall, knees bent) but I can't get myself up because of muscle strength. Can someone help me out with a routine for parkour, especially upper body? Preferably one that uses gym equipment, seeing as I got a membership to get some asthetics, but any help is great!
TL;DR: need a routine, preferably can be done in a gym, but doesn't matter, to train for starting... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>878658 Yeah I try both techniques, but I'm lacking arm strength, I do both the push back with both feet and the push back with one foot and swing the other leg back for momentum but still can't do it, I'll try those though
Hey /asp/, has anyone of you checked this stuff out and what do you think of it?
I'm excited to see how it all works out, the first contests are to be held in 2016 and have the aim to break down the borders between different weapon-based martial arts in order to let different styles and standards face off against eachother.
Currently the Mk I armor (or Lorica, as they call the suit) is a bit bulky and slow, which they aim to fix in the Mk II
Kind of interesting, but it really comes off as goofy. In the video, it looked like they were just whacking their sword together for a minute, then flailing around till one got hit. It's really hard to tell what is going on when they're actually fighting. Hence the need for constant slow-mo breakdowns. The killing blow though, is that you can't even tell who wins. The fighters don't even know, they keep going after a loss.
Plus, the main point of interest was that this advanced suit of armor would left them use weapons on one another. Instead it just... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>878535 "Armored" fighting that is designed to replicate unarmored fighting. There is so many problems with their premises that I really don't see how it could be good. It will be a silly niche stuff and that's about it.
Plus, as said, wooden sticks, foam and plastic swords...
