This is a picture of John Torrington. He was a member of the failed Franklin expedition to find a suitable Northwest passage. He died Jan. 1st, 1846.
This is how he looked when they dug him up in the 1980's. (Frozen in the permafrost and thus perfectly preserved.) There were two other crewmen buried with him and both are in the same state of preservation.
"This picture of 14-year-old Regina Kay Walters was taken by serial killer Robert Ben Rhoades, who toured the country in an 18-wheeler equipped with a torture chamber in the back. This photo was taken in an abandoned Illinois barn, where Rhoades killed Walters after cutting off her hair and making her wear a black dress and heels."
For some reason, left-clicking wasn't working to upload this...
I don't think it is... then again, we're in /b/.
Then why don't you contribute rather than bitch and moan?
there are people watching us all the time, people in suits that make them invisible. this one just happened to short out for a moment right as the picture was taken. one is watching you right now. they're not like us. they're from somewhere else. they want to understand us, so they watch.
this shit aint scary
victorians, no matter how hard they tried, almost always took creepy photos
photographs of the dead--particularly during plagues--were the absolute worst
at least mommy's face was covered, but i think that's because she'd been dead awhile by then
gotta' love tuberculosis
in south china, the crowded market sellers offer chickens, other poultry, dogs, cats, wild animals--all kept live, then killed, prepared, eaten and disposed of right in the same place
no wonder epidemics emerge from here fairly regularly
back during the boxer rebellion, 'white' children were also found in the stalls to be consumed by locals as a delicacy called 'long pig'
poor tyke probably thought this was just a field trip
she is not dead. back then, they would cover the mother and have her hold the child so the child would not cry. I am not sure why they didn't just let the woman in the picture, but that was how they did it
