Best guitarist thread I'm starting with John Butler
>Inb4 omg bukethed iz so gud
buckethead is one of the bests guitarists ever existed in the fucking world. it's just a crazy guy with an amazing sound.
GOD BLESS BUCKETHEAD!!!!!!!
Let Michael Angelo Batio melt your goddamned face!
Black metal guitar can suck my balls and sink his head in your fucking butt
I think it's close between him and Sungha Jung
Kurt fucking Cobain. And I don't give a shit what you faggots say. It's true that his guitar skills were fucking poor BUT it didn't stop him from becoming one of the most successful frontmen in the history. The man was a genius riff/song writer.
This guy was a true musician and played some of the most influential heavy guitar in just two years.
There is a right answer and all of you faggots missed it.
this nigger knows whats good
OP any fucking faggot can play cool shit in open tuning, it's really not that hard to do.
really fucking good
great guitar player, shit song writer
This guy may not be the best but he plays with more soul than anybody I've seen. He always knows what to do and it just flows out of him like words.
Got to hand it to jimmy page for sacrificing his soul for the power of the guitar
every other guitarist is irrelevant
Id say he is alot more "texeas style swing blues" then just stright blues.
Hendrix was a rock "avantgardist" blues
When he started. Thats style dident exist. The tehnology wasent even ment to perform the way he was doing it.
SRV. Litterally a decade latter ahd the thenology and the the records to teach himself.
Hendrix 10 points. SEV 1point for makeing a very very good ( i admit) rendition to little wing instumental
Where is steve vai? or joe satriani? or Eric Johnson? Or Yngwie Malmsteen? What the fuck are this amazing guys?
What about bassists?
Les Claypool is one crazy talented mother fucker.
Joe Walsh not the greatest but underrated and worth a mention
Yea slash is good until you learn how to play guitar then you see how over rated he really is randy Rhoads all the way
god you autists tire me. John Butler? Is this a joke?
just cause someone can play super fast arpeggios doesn't make them good, needs emotion and a good tone.
learn to listen to other music types than rock and metal
I agree but he was not a metal guitar player was practically forced to tryout for ozzy but if you just listen to his playing without ozzy it is pure genius a straight up legend.
How come no one has mentioned Marc Rizzo, the dude is incredible!
Alright ! this one !
>there are people in this thread right now who think it's possible to play the guitar better than john williams
fucking kill yourselves guys, every single note he plays is precise and immaculate, technically perfect, if a robot was programmed to play it would sound like john williams, and fuck all that fake "feel" and emotion, it doesn't exist, you can't emit emotion through strings, sure people can hear emotion though them, but you can't play with emotion, just good timing and accentuation, all of that falls within technique, and you can't get better than flawless
tl;dr JOHN WILLIAMS
> Power Chords
With out a doubt.
A few other icons that were mentioned up there - Petrucci, Rhoads, Hendrix, Paige, Iommi etc.
Some guys that are still playing now:
Also include Steve Vai and Joe Satriani.
Randy rhoads and van halen the only fast players that I can handle the rest are just worn out copys of these two
Though he's playing power chords in the photo this man is brilliant, I mean shiet lead guitarist in famous band and a composer for classical music. bueno.
doubt you even listened to it for more than 10 seconds. I expected that attention span from an aspie.
Mistakes? That's how he plays it, it's his style, he also sings while doing this. You wish you has 1/100th of the talent that dude has, but sadly you will never be anything.
Sidenote: Les Claypool, Geddy Lee, Jaco Pastorious, John Entwhistle etc, all the best bass players used a 4-string.
Why am I Seeing all those 14-17 year old wannabe bass players use 5, 6 and even 7 string basses? More strings make better players? What is this shit about??
>no Annie Clarke
Let me fix that here a second.
Also, surprised I haven't seen John Frusciante's name in here yet
God of the power chord but obviously not the greatest
