I know there's people here with really good taste in films. Recomend me something to watch this night!
Pic related: just watched this shit, 10/fucking10
I've heard its really good, downloading it.
But tonight I want something less humoristic/sarcastic (to call it someway). I want, not necessarily mindfucks, but some food for thought
fuck nazi shit
already watched it, didn't like it that much, but it was ok. Anyway, thanks for posting c:
are you my father?
well, then its not for everybody, what you said is what I like about it
you SHOULD watch whiplash! its a 14/10 movie. the whole thing is a masterpiece, anybody will love it, regardless if you like drumming or not. i watched it with a friend and i started humping him
>Fuck nazi shit.
Try actually watching them you whiny liberal faggot.
quite a mindfuck, definitely 'less humoristic/sarcastic'
transpotting is fucking neat. Donnie Darko is way too cryptic, but I still think its good. And I havent seen Mr Nobody, but it looks like its trying to hard, tell me If Im wrong
is it humoristic?
looks a bit boring
I'm a guy lel
I want to watch this so bad, is it online?
its not that I differ politically, but there are tons of nazi films, tired of them
As I've said: too cryptic ( and I've already watched it)
I really like that kind of films too (watch Enemy!). But I found Donnie Darko not so well written. It really is imposible to understand it without reading about it online
fuck this guy seriously
I enjoyed this film. It's not anywhere near a 10/10 but as the movie is about a 17 year old girl who decided to become a prostitute it's right up my alley.
The single most suspenseful movie I've ever seen in my entire life.
Philosophy of a knife
Salo 120 days of sodom
My name is Nobody
A Serbian film.
God Bless America
Monty python meaning of life.
The omega man
They range from comedy to horror, just some seriously underrated films and some classics.
I think I'm gonna watch whiplash tonight (If no one recomends something more apealling)
wtf is this movie
fuck this gay shit (the truth is that its a good film, but I've seen it way too many times)
mmmh Watched it last week and didn't enjoyed it that much. The narration/characters/structure is way too typical
The most interesting subject ever and the only movie that I know like this that stays pretty faithful to reality. Too bad it's not the best production in history and the original book by Sagan wasn't very well written. Anyway an all time favorite of mine too.
I have no idea what you want OP but based on response to my suggestions so far I'd say dumb action is right up your street.
>wtf is this movie
Are you fucking serious?
kek why? also titanic is shit
not really into cartoons
srry but Im not watching that
those seem too sad. Yesterday I saw nebraska and didn't like it that much
I'm trying to skip the generic stuff you've definitely heard of.
>Loaded Weapon 1
>God Bless America
>Tucker And Dale Vs Evil
>The Sunset Limited
>Man From Earth
>Leaving Las Vegas
>inb4 some are mediocre movies according to critics
I like the psychological thrillers and dramas non-superficial, and sometimes the failed directors we call critics don't get them.
Ice cream Mandrake!?
Children's ice cream?
Waking Life. Bizarre, and you probably won't get all the points first time watching, but a cool ride.
mmmh not sure Im gonna like it.
Im sure you did get something.
I hate action movies (wtf, Enemy has 0 action in it). I've never heard about dr strangelove, is it good?
I dont know that much about films (I had never watched clockwork oreange untill a few weeks ago..). But I think I have "good taste".
OP you've seen Children of Men? If not give it a shot. Also recommend There Will Be Blood but it's not for everyone I warn you.
didnt like it
I watched it really high and I really liked it. I'm gonna watch it on shrooms sometime
fuck action films
yep, just downloaded it, neat
really like that movie. Mmmh, and There Will be Blood looks nice
Everyone is afraid to criticise this film in case people think they don't 'get it' and they lose their film reviewing cred.
But seriously, I've been through this film over and over again and heard so many different theories on what it all means.
And you know what? Not even the best theory out there can thread the plot elements together into an even halfway meaningful story.
Like yeah woo we're so edgy and artsy and vague and you have to find your own meaning.
But like... even being really lenient with connecting it all up, it still doesn't matter a damn.
The story is sophomoric and superficial.
The film gives you no reason to CARE about anything.
It keeps you detached from everything. You can't even get in anyone's fucking head, much as it likes to pretend we're exploring some deep subconscious shit.
We just end up with a deliberately misleading confusing mish-mash of some middle-aged punk's life who's afraid of being a responsible adult.
Like we should give a fuck that he lies to himself!
Give us literally anything about the other characters in his life! If you present a protagonist it is impossible to empathise with, at least have the fucking courtesy to have some other people well fleshed out, I mean fuck!
More like 10 sweaty dicks out of 10.
Not impressed with your 'taste', OP.
trainspotting, the rocky horror picture show, donnie darko, city of god, baraka, zeitgeist, requiem for a dream, akira, la haine, filth, a serbian film (tough but stunning), life of brian, the exorcist (director's cut) I'm sure these are not the best but I'll try to remember moar
I dont whant you to be impressed with my taste, I've never seen any Hitchcock or other classics films (I say this to tell you I dont know shit about films). But I don't know.. there are films that are able to penetrate my skull and impregnate my brain and keep me focused and make me think. This, Clockwork Orange, Magical Girl (2014) (seriously, its probably one of the greatests works of art, not just films, I've ever witnessed), 2001, Pulp Fiction, etc.. fill my needs for art/emotion as a human being.
I think the movie walked right on the edge of how vague you can be. At the end of it I felt like I understood the layers, but didn't have the whole picture yet. I found this video that explainse it really well imo.
hahah, that anime shit was a joke. And as Ive said: I dont have a good criteria due to my lack of film culture
I would watch it but Im afraid of seeing the same archetipic characters and the same plot development in every fucking anime
says the one posting a cartoon character. Though Evangelion is one of the 0,001% of quality animes
I get that animu isn't for everyone
a lot of it is sparkly nonsense and that's probably what you don't like
perfect blue is one of those anime movies that's just a movie. The movie happens to be animated. If you're not an anime guy, there's still a good chance you'll like it - it's not goofy and retarded at all.
This goes well with the dubs I just got
My favourite film is Unforgiven. It recontextualises a whole genre and gives an emotional depth to a slew of previously 2 dimensional characters in popular culture.
"It's a hell of a thing, killin' a man. You take away everything he's got - everything he's gonna have."
It suprises you by putting weight to every nameless saloon patron who goes down in a rain of well-intentioned bullets.
Those people had lives; families. And the person pulling the trigger knows that.
The audience is the trigger happy kid who wants to be a western style bandit. But by the end of the film we no longer have the stomach for it, as we have now seen the emotional trauma necessary to be that person. They aren't cool bad boys who live free - they are broken sociopaths with no hope for redemption, who can only live on the fringes of society or die.
If Denzel Washington fits your taste, Deja Vu and Manchurian Candidate are very good films. Or maybe the newer action thriller Equalizer. It was way better than I expected and surprisely wasn't just another average Taken-clone..
Im sorry but I think those films are a bit shitty
8/10 really enjoyed the first 1/2 of it. But I thought it was too dark, I may have been too high while watching it..
Wasn't much of a fan in of that movie. I felt like each scene was just the same as the last with the same premise; things disappear.
Please tell me what you thought of it, I'd love to enjoy it more.
fucking OP, seriously this faggot
a lot of people have suggested pretty good films in this thread
>uhh, no, looks boring
>sorry uhhh, not watching that
>already watched it, didnt enjoyed XD
>dont like cartoons
>uhh sorry, that looks sad
also, enemy 10/10 ?
people here man, seriously
what pic related
It's good if you appreciate films for more than the sum of their parts, great even if you have fine taste.
hahah, I'm just being a bit of an asshole. I appreciate every suggestion. Thank you all
gonna check those out
Maybe some of these are interesting(from my recently watched, so no particular order):
Predestination(timetravel thing that's quite interesting even if you guess it early)
Rover(nice job by Pattinson)
Snowpiercer(full of plotholes, but kinda interesting)
John Wick(pure action)
Triangle(timeloop, kinda shitty, but well thought out paradoxically)
Wolf of Wall Street(three hours of awesome, if it's your thing)
Mr.Nobody(sci-fi, art, multiple timelines, epic soundtrack, recommended)
Seven Psychopaths(bit average, but good actors)
Edge of Tomorrow(Groundhog day+scifi+war)
Jodorowsky's Dune(documentary about interesting director.)
Death at a Funeral(awesome uk comedy, avoid remake)
Automata(bit different sci-fi)
Stay(mindfuck, pretty cool)
Coherence(indie try at mindfuck, bit akin to primer, but not as clever)
Jacob's Ladder(classic, awesome)
Nigger you gotta watch that directors cut.
But I sort of liked that at first I watched the normal one and then read the stuff online, making the movie cross borders and become more of an experience.
I'd say watch the butterfly effect. Probably Ashton Kutcher's best role ever.
No one's heard of it, but try watching The Chumbscrubber also.
There will be blood
