I am being 200% serious when I ask this question.
All men have seen black and blue so far.
All women have seen white and gold so far.
There are FIVE threads right now reposting a "meme" from Tumblr that is a shitty attempt to recreate a thirty years old psychological experiment about the nature of peer pressure.
Congratulations, /b/. You are not regurgitating Tumblr content.
Remember how you used to make fun of Reddit for regurgitating 4chan content? Yeah...
Obvious b8 Op.
the dress is green and orange
nice try though
people are suckers.
>le i see so many things that the internet sees!
WHAT THE FFFFFFFFFFFFUCK
Seriously I seen a post on tumblr. It was white/gold. Clicked the image got the .jpg url out
Left it there as white/gold.
Went to twitter its blue/black
>go back to jpg
Men have a higher chance of being colorblind thus they see it as blue/black
It's light blue and slightly dark gold (as has been proven hundreds of times by now by people using photoshop/gimp etc)
People with a slight form of colorblindness will interpret the light blue as a total blue and the dark gold as black
it#s due to a bad lightning condition and bad camera
Black n Yellow, bish!
Tryna Fool me, bish?
Cumin hardcore in yo dress bish! Makin it whit bish!
obviously the color was added in post, so this dress was in fact colorless when sown
you can clearly see the red in the green channel being all sneaky you rat bastard wow the thing is I am expert shopper so I know how you did the trick you summerhomosexual
this dress bullshit is going to kill me
This has nothing to do with color blindness.
Seriously, this is a peer pressure experiment you faggots. If there are any of you out there who are genuinely trying to justify this shit with some forms of pseudoscientific explanations like this one:
You already lost.
Have fun with it.
So what's the name of this psychological experiment?
You see it as blue/black but want to see it as white/gold? Here's what you fucking do
Consider exposure. Consider the fact it's really bright outside. This helps.
Now think about the dress being darker due to the foreground having a lower exposure compared to the high exposure of the background.
With time and focus, you should be able to see it as white/gold now.
The whole reason is explained in pic related.
Here are the colors pulled from the dress in paint. It's a purplish-blue and brownish-gold color. Anyone who sees black is a retard.
Guys, if you change the styles between Yotsuba and Tomorrow you can clearly see the dress change color!
Don't remember the name anymore. I'll try to look it up when I'm feeling less lazy.
It's a variant on a set of experiments that tested how much are people susceptible to peer pressure. I know one of the forms involved people who were invited to participate on something they thought was some form of a medical examination. They were brought to a waiting room full of people (who were actually all figurants). A nurse would inform them that the doctor has been delayed, but that she could start with some basic tests related to sight, and started showing them one by one a picture showing two lines, one obviously longer than the other, asking them to identify the longer one.
The point was to test how many people have to give the wrong answer before the test subject gave in and gave the wrong answer too, knowing full right that it's wrong.
Similar test was preformed with children and involved a whole bunch of kids saying that the obviously yellow sun on a picture is "green". I know of some of these tests being carried in Eastern Block even.
I never realized this, but 4chan is a fucking IDEAL environment for such kind of test. There will be hundreds of people willingly acting as figurines here, not even knowing why: they will happily do what you need them to do and even feel smart about doing so.
Then again, it's an environment difficult to control.
You're not fucking trying hard enough, you crazy autist. Naturally, it looks blue to me too but focus and you can see it as white. Imagine the dress is in dark lighting and focus on the fact that the lacing pattern is gold.
It will look like a white/gold dress at night where there is a slight blue tinge.
You are. The dress is obviously white, but on the photo, due to the skewed light, it is represented as blue-tinted instead. A normal human heathy brain can instantly compensate for that, and will actually intuitively say "yeah, the dress is white", because that would be the color of the dress if you saw it in proper lighting.
It's not peer pressure, you just haven't seen it as white/gold. I saw it as blue/black originally, but when you consider in exposure and how this affects the lighting in the foreground, you will see it as a white/gold dress in dark lighting (which like at night, has a slight blue tinge)
>not being apart of the seen both colours master race
>men have a higher chance of being colourblind
>therefore men are more colourblind
Goddamnit /b/ what the fuck is going on?
When I scrolled by this thread that fucking dress was white and gold. The last post was the link to amazon here >>600759142
I came back and clicked on the thread and the dress was BLACK AND BLUE!?
WHAT IS THIS FUCKERY???????
No one is fucking being attention whores for seeing a damn dress as being white/gold. Read up on fucking exposure and how it affects photos. Even look at this fucking optical illusion. Similar concept.

Dude, give it a rest for a while, why don't you? Try responding to someone else maybe.
BLACK AND YELLOW BLACK AND YELLOW BLACK AND YELLOW BLACK AND YELLOW
Wife sees blue and black. I'm going to check for penis. Now questioning if son is mine.
I'm a woman and see black and blue.
B/c my man beats me hurr.
No but really.
I'm ending this okay
White & Gold: The blue parts of the dress are explained by the lighting of foreground to the background, simply put the white part is in a shadow, the gold is...gold.
Brown & Blue: Objectively if we take the pixels from this dress it will come out as so... because that IS the color the screen is projecting not taking into account the lighting which ALTERS what the actual color is. Take the picture as is, yea it is this one, IRL it would be different.
Black & Blue: To everyone who says W&G look at the bottom right corner of the picture and stare there while letting your eyes unfocus, you should be able to see the B&B colors now.
What the dress really is, is W&G, the light/shadow distorts it so no-one actually SEES white in the photo, they just using the context of the picture to make mental adjustments.
