no non porn webm thread? lets change that. make me laugh.
can you imagine building more than 0 of these things. People dont take that shit seriously
>more than 0 of these things
It's kind of like art.
Also the target audience is russian/saudi oil barons with too much money so as tasteless as possible probably is what sells.
Also the whole thing is a technological marvel, that's the most complicated watch that's ever been built.
Anybody want more?
simple is a relative term obviously, that watch is more complicated than any watch you'd see in a normal day
Fuck this is much more fascinating than porn
Before somebody asks, the reason that thing is rotating is because it's mounted in what's known as a tourbillon. It's a system that rotates the balance assembly through all positions in a three-dimensional plane in order to counteract the effect that gravity has on its rate of oscillation.
Also fucking expensive. Here's another.
clarification: most tourbillons only rotate on a 2 axes. that one is triaxial, though.
this watch is actually attainable within a normal human's salary
Not about practicality, m8. It's about being cool as shit.
>implying that watch reaches anywhere near the boundaries of pointlessness
This watch was worn on the moon.
Wish they had a making of video for it.
I don't even know where the time is on that watch.
the value of speedmasters is gonna tank when they find out the moon landings were a hoax
dick status: muh
easily in my top 5
wish they had a making of video
too bad 4chan's measly size limit fucked that webm in the ass
you're high, anon
Its not so much that its super complicated that mkes it special though man, the whole fucking thing is made by hand!
On another note, this is not allowed in this thread.
> non porn webm thread?
This shit is porn fo sure.
I think the complication certainly adds to it though
>dings out the time when you press a button, to the minute
>has a fucking volume button (it's mechanical, think about that)
>displays the volume it's set at (high/low/mute)
>2 time zones
>perpetual calendar (automatically adjusts the date for the variance in days between different months like 28, 30, 31, as well as adjusting the date in february based on whether or not it's a leap year)
and those are only the ones I can think of, there's 20 complications in that watch
feel free to dump your own webms, I just have a lot and I like sharing them
people tend to be really interested in them
Someone posted a webm of these two asian girls bobbing their heads to music and the shot slowly goes to an awkward as fuck close up on one of the chicks... someone please repost and give source if you have any idea what the fuck i'm talking about
Is this also with texture mods or something? Shit looks high detail.
not a mod, the PS4/xbone version of V added first person mode
too bad consoles are for fags
can't wait for it to come out for PC next month, hope it gets cracked quickly. Else I might actually buy it full price.
I cant even get the arms back on my watch with a pair of tweezers.
2.6 million ameribucks. There's only 6 of them, and one of them went straight into a museum.
You can buy other watches from that brand for as low as $15k but averaging more around $60k for something that does more than tell the time.
Their specialty is basically watches that have lots of complicated shit jammed into them.
This is one of their most popular models. It has a chronograph (stopwatch), a perpetual calendar (explained how this works in an earlier post) and a moonphase indicator.
I'm a watchfag in general. I'd say I'm a collector but I recently sold most of my collection because I have a policy about getting rid of anything I don't use regularly.
I have a watchmaker, actually
he's about to keel over and there's nobody in line to replace him, though, so I'll probably need to find somebody new to work on my stuff in a few years
nice, Im somewhat of a collector myself, although not as much as I'd like to be.
Ive got a turn of the century (amongst others) 24karat zenith pocket i always think about selling, I hate pockets but this was cheaper than the scrap gold. still keeps good time, +/- 15 secs per day.
Have you seen the Kairos smartwatch? Ive got one on preorder. So nervous I'll be disapointed.
I hadn't until now, but I just looked it up and I'm really intrigued. I normally hate smartwatches but the mechanical timekeeping fixes my main gripe with them completely.
Huh. That's pretty fucking cool.
But it is absolutley useless. If a war breaks out these machines will probably be the first to be taken away and made use of somewhere else that directly helps the government in some way.
they don't do that to every watch, dummy
they only do that to test out the durability of new prototype designs
I've been very satisfied with his work, he studied in geneva and he's been doing it for a long-ass time. i live in a very wealthy town so I'm sure plenty of pieces come his way, and I'd have heard of it if he had ever done bad work.
do you even
yeah, I will be totes disappoint if it turns out shit. 1k preorder for the soprod movement. and they still havent made a sales model yet.
Apparently it will be in the next 6 months or so though....
actually if it comes down to it I still have a bunch of non watch related webms
I'll dump those to keep the thread alive until somebody else shows up and dumps if I need to
Just because it's neutral doesn't mean they won't get invaded. Happened with Norway and Russia is breathing down Swedens neck as we speak. Plus, if switzerland gets invaded none will help them since they have no real military alliances.
Switzerland's entire national infrastructure has explosives strategically planted throughout so that in case of invasion the whole place can basically be sealed off to the outside world.
It'd be weird driving over a bridge with the knowledge that the thing is designed to go kaboom if somebody wants it to.
Ever heard of planes and helicopters? Dropping of troops and flying in vehicle units works very well. Besides, stopping an invasion from a country which outpowers yours 10x is hard. They don't even have to apply special tactics since they can just destroy them with sheer force.
I like metallurgy too. Watchmaking really isn't what I'd call boring though.
Like they did with Ukraine? And Georgia? Truth is, UN doesnt matter, only Nato does and Switzerland isnt even a part of Nato. Citizens of the western world might get their jimmies rustled, but I doubt any government would go in full frontal attack on the invasion force rather than bolstering their own borders. Even Norway and Denmark wouldnt help Sweden if they were invaded.
I don't remember what the deal was with georgia but I know there were definitely reasons behind the annexation of crimea. Fact is, taking switzerland would really be a pointless endeavor and it has no strategic value. You'd be right next to both germany and france, and there's no way they'd let that shit fly.
definitely more complicated than a spring drive.
