I don't care about the website.
It's the people who bother me.
The ones who think themselves in some way superior.
Who think themselves something special.
Like they actually matter in some way.
That their name means something, and use that as an impetus to whore themselves and others out to inflate their phimotic e-peens.
At least here we all know we're shit and embrace it.
They aren't any different but they have to pretend otherwise.
Because the original posts are never any good. The only entertainment in it is down in the comments where you have to read through a million comments from idiots who think their joke is funny or statement is important, just to get to a semi funny joke that I could have made myself
I don't mind it. I stay away from the default subs because they're total cancer and just use it for keeping up to date with shit and for reading up on stuff I want to buy. /r/gamedeals is good, /r/games can be good, /r/headphones is a really good example of how it can be good for researching a type of product before you buy it. I come to 4chan for the humour
this this this and this
it's setup so retarded.
they try to make jokes for the sake of upvotes or whatever, and not to actually make a joke.
here you aren't remembered for a joke because nobody knows who said it
and the people who think they're cool because people they don't know on the internet gave them a compliment
don't even get started on 9fag. i have never seen a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.
the dumbest people on /b/ are smart compared to 9fag
also forgot to mention please stop the >>backtoreddit bullshit, oh god is that annoying, just because some retarded middleschooler is here from the fappening please don't lower their self esteem by saying they're from reddit
> too many subreddits
> they take shit from 4chan and make it seems like it's theirs.
> some of them are just lowlife faggots
They are like North Korea because they on show the good parts of /b/ just like how North Korea shows the best cities only.
> not as bad as Tumblr
Everyone seems too fucking nice. It seems really forced and disgusting.
Plus the karma system is complete shite, and encourages users to only post what they think will get good karma rather than honest thoughts.
They will attack you for saying something the hive mind doesn't agree with. Don't agree with their politics then get the fuck out, use the word faggot, get the fuck out, don't think all fat people are horrible human being, get the fuck out.
What's so great about not being anonymous?
You get to have a name attached so you can build reputation? You don't say what you honestly believe because you might be shunned by the community? A person who everybody looks up to for some reason might denounce you?
Being anonymous is fine. Put on a trip for a thread if you really have to, but what the fuck is the problem with 4chan being the only place you're really anonymous?
>the whole idea of upvoting
>have to make an account
>video games board has SEVENTEEN RULES most of which include "no fun"
>hyper specific boards that essentially function as permanent threads (I'm assuming things don't 404 on reddit)
Yah it's a steaming pile of shit
>What's so great about anonymity?
Each post is responded to based on the content rather than focusing on the user. Instead of people dismissing a good post because of a shitty name or people pretending to like a shit post trying to suck another users dick you're forced to evaluate each one without even a subconscious bias.
Not him btw.
>don't see any problem
just the kind of faggotry I'd expect from someone who uses reddit.
...because nobody can handle a difference of opinion and they don't want those horrible scary downvotes.
Oh no, some retard online used an ad hominem because they were out of legitimate arguments, that NEVER happens on 4Chan.
Again, this shit happens on 4Chan. The only difference is that you can come back and no one will know, but this is essentially the same as making another account. There's no real difference between anonymity and usernames apart from the shitty content rating system Reddit has.
The biggest problem with reddit is the userbase, and the biggest problem with reddit is that they're pseudo-intellectual.
I say that they're pseudo-intellectual, but they're pseudo other things too. In fact pseudo basically defines redditors, they have only a passing interest in doing or saying anything of worth and are ultimately only concerned about how cool and profound they can look.
They're not smart, funny, on point, talented, talented or skilled. They're just insufferable losers.
I'm so fucking tired of this word. First it's definition is changed by the autistic shittards at Webster's then it starts getting overused by everyone because "it totally means figuratively now, guys :DDDDDDD"
Reddit is just fine. You can stay on topic more there, if you're looking for advice or instructions. Having a name and a karma system means that there is a reason to stay civil and on topic. The subreddit system helps you find what you're looking for quickly.
It just isn't very funny or reactive. You get yelled at for acting goofy or trying to have a good time. So that's shitty. That's why i frequent both places. For advice I go to reddit. To laugh I come here.
I've never been to 9gag, but if I ever felt like killing myself, I'll bet I'd go there to do that.
>Reddit is just fine.
It's fine in principle and somebody who's been there for 15 minutes would probably say it's a fine website. But the more you go there the worse it gets and the more it sinks in that they're all pseudo-intellectual children with no self awareness.
>browsing 4chan, /b/ for that matter, in public
Reddit is bad because of ratings, it gives people more of an insentive to copy pasta and not deliver oc, also the lack of anonymity makes it so that popular people on reddit will constantly make top comments and think even if they post a shitty comment, also its too pc
I can't really disagree. I mean , I'd be nuts if I was like "no its really a great community of wonderful people" after seeing thread after thread get derailed by nitpicking and petty arguments six fucking million puns.
I'm into coffee though, so I subscribe to r/coffee and learn shit about coffee and help other people learn when I can. That makes it worth it, and it's a valuable resource be a use I can go back to a thread if I need to, unlike 4chan.
I like a bunch of subreddits actually. I have been coming to 4chan since 2006 and the quality of the content has honestly declined. I still come here for some fucking reason though.
>the lulz were pretty good back a while ago
>I came when I was 14 years old and should have been B& back then
>I will never forget trolling club penguin, POOLS CLOSED, Consequences never being the same, Habo hotel Afro swastikas and such
>the people are generally pretty nice
This is why people hate reddit and like /b/. You aren't on a fucking playground, you aren't at a school dance, you don't want people to fucking be nice. You want them to be themselves you insufferable cunt.
Reddit's system of registering users, and prioritizing posts by upvotes, as well as their Karma system, leads to an undemocratic process of sharing posts.
Sure, 4chan is full of shitty posts, but Reddit is full of mainstream posts and comments that are curated solely based on popularity votes.
This is why Reddit is a liberal circlejerk. Not cause there is anything wrong with being liberal, but because unique opinions are ignored.
Fuck off back to reddit you stupid child.
Reddit doesn't complain about 4chan because they admit they're right about most everything, but because they're limp-wristed thought policing faggots they go out of their way to avoid things that aren't politically correct and homogenized to be as inoffensive to everyone as possible.
Because it's a circlejerk. Idiots hang out with other idiots that agree with their idiotic opinions. This reassures other idiots in their idiotic beliefs and the cycle continues.
You fuckers won't keep your stupid crap off of /b/. You think you're way more funny than you are in reality. You're headed by one of the biggest SJW feminazi skanks in existence.
Man, I miss the days when people on /b/ had critical thinking and would've explained with objective logic why reddit is a horrible community
Look at this shit. Why would you even care? Seriously, there is only one subreddit that shows mediocre funny 4chan posts without the shitposting.
Stop pretending this board is more important than it is. Stop caring and get a fucking life.
If being yourself means being herded along with the rest of the sheep spouting popular opinions while taking cock from the few people who present accessible new ideas, I have no idea what to say to you
Seems like an odd question. 4chan has been a sub Reddit for years.
Its one of the more depressing parts of the eternal summer. Along with weird adoption of behaviour, like how most people on Reddit will claim hatred of 9gag despite being basically the same thing. An empty hole into which all creativity flows whilst producing nothing of its own.
>Why would you even care?
Because reddit has implications far beyond just a vapid website. I know it's unassuming, but it was designed to be a catalyst for sharing and discussing information.
>there is only one subreddit that shows mediocre funny 4chan posts without the shitposting.
That doesn't make a lick of sense.
>Stop pretending this board is more important than it is.
You mean /b/?
We're not discussing /b/, we're discussing reddit.
>Stop caring and get a fucking life.
You jumped to conclusions, but even if that were true it'd be a vapid ad-hominem argument.
You epitomize reddit. Just fuck off you stupid loser.
my wife reads the relationship subreddit and it makes her think that ours is shit. whenever shes in a bad mood talking about how she thinks that were unhappy, i find that subreddit in the history on her ipad
fuck off faggotfuck off faggotfuck off faggotfuck off faggotfuck off faggotfuck off faggotfuck off faggotfuck off faggotfuck off faggotfuck off faggotfuck off faggotfuck off faggotfuck off faggotfuck off faggotfuck off faggot
'Le reddit armie' posting retarded youtube comments
Because there is a clear difference in the way posts are interpreted and judged on both websites.
On Reddit, your post is judged on your reputation from your previous history. For example, there was a user on reddit named Unidan whom would receive ridiculous amounts of upvotes for the stupidest comments, solely because it was him.
On 4chan, your post is judged strictly on the current post made. Nobody can track down your previous comments and base their perception off of that.
thread about the holocaust literally every fucking day.
It's the same problem that facebook and tumblr have: a like/rating system. It makes people say and do asinine things for attention. That's all it is. Everyone wants to be a special snowflake
i've never felt like i had to go to reddit. i kinda figured it was here or there and since i've been here for a time, i've never been arsed to do it.
then the whole what is air thing happened and i ended up hating reddit for that reason ALONE.
