Crazy Heart (2009)
You didn't like Flight? What a shame.
This hasn't been posted yet? Come on /b/
watched this for the first time a few days ago while partially stoned.
One of the funniest black comedies I have ever seen, and I'm surprised this movie isn't mentioned more on /b/, its like this movie was made for /b/tards.
I liked Denzel Washington's performance, his journey and him dealing with everything. I guess like most movies it's based on personal preference. I see other movies on here I wouldn't consider god tier but hey to each his own.
This movie coulda been so shit if they castes someone that didn't have the talent and devotion as jake gylenhal (not gonna bother spelling his name right)
Movie was fucking great never have I enjoyed a movie where your lead is so likable and at the same time insanely unlikable
better than people give it credit for. people like to shit on it because its a musical, but its great.
>I see other movies on here I wouldn't consider god tier but hey to each his own.
Yeah but some times a movie just isn't a God tier one because it's lacking in several different departments.
It's ok to rate it highly, but don't be so upset when it doesn't get the same regard from other people, they just don't appreciate a few aspects of it.
Denzel's acting was pretty good in that, but the plot didn't hold it
underrated. will fuck with you
arguable one of the greatest of all time
>joking about gnd
I only saw the movie once. I don't remember who Ray was. All I know is the story sucked and Michael Bay needs to stop filling his movies with fucking panoramic views in every other scene.
my mom heard GND was good and I had to watch it with my parents when I came home for Easter.
It's basically a litmus test; show it to a Christian person you know. If he doesn't think it's ludicrous, he's a diehard nutjob and it's your responsibility to remove him from the gene pool.
Lol. This is the epitome of "Christian" films. People need to stop trying to make movies for Christians and instead make movies with religious undertones or themes. I mean, wow. This movie was so unbelievably horrible. Just some blatant propoganda, and not even good at that.
>there's a muslim girl who takes off her headscarf when she gets to school
>think it may not be a propaganda film after all, maybe the muslim girl will also learn to stick up for her faith, everyone will learn tolerance
>muslim girl turns out to be a crypto-christian and gets beaten by her father
literally could not make a worse movie if my life depended on it.
Any movie where it takes 5 minutes to make the logo has got to be a good movie
Yes, the whole premise was faulty. The "atheist" profession wasn't even atheist. You cannot have a strong personal hate-relationship a being that you don't even believe exists in the first place.
No definitely wasn't upset, this is the internet and you know as well as I do we're going to come across opinions that differ from our own.
Maybe it's just my own bias towards Denzel Washington as an actor.
A better way of phrasing what I said early should have been beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Nice trips.
it's worse even than that. the implication of the whole "what happened to you?" scene is basically that all atheists are just childishly denying god's existence because they were traumatized or they just want to be sinners.
Can't believe no ones posted this yet.
THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU FIND A STRANGER IN THE ALPS
Well, I'm going to now
Heard a lot about that, the anime does end, but is it a nice ending or are there too many loose ends?
I hate watching stuff that is incomplete, it triggers me!
No no, I meant Ray the movie were Jaime Fox portrayed Ray Charles.
All I can say about Collateral is I thought the acting was solid with Tom Cruise. For being so batshit crazy in real life, I really like him as an actor.
Parasyte is really recent and really good
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is good, a little kiddy sometimes but good
Death Note is great for the first part and good but kind of retarded after that.
Cowboy Bebop is a must-watch, although it's different from a lot of anime (really episodic)
Fuck you space can be interesting this movie chose to be as painfully slow as possible, and the first like 20 mins have nothing to do with space.
Actually defend this movies brilliance and I'll remove two ribs tomorrow and suck my own cock
The anime only covers the golden arc. There's multiple arcs throughout the story but my biggest gripe with the anime was where it ended. they stopped production at a huge cliffhanger. If anything it makes you want to read the manga.
I never saw Ray. Jamie Fox just doesn't appeal to me.
That's why I hate theists just as much as athiests
They're both just as retarded and have their heads so far up their own asses they can't see why their wrong.
The only thing that's better about theists is that they aren't cocky about their beliefs.
The first twenty minutes where there to show you the monolith and what it does. If you don't understand that part, that's fine dude. I had to look it up to understand it.
As for some actual defending, sure. Why not. I love this movie.
Here's some pointers that you can look at if you ever rewatch it. I don't have the time to type it out coherently, the thread will be gone by then.
-Pay attention to the practical effects. i.e. The floating pen; any of the model ships.
-The props. Holy shit are they detailed.
-The story. Actually pay attention. It fucking awesome.
-And most important with this movie, be patient. Be extremely patient. Kubrick wanted to create a feeling of boredom with slight suspense.
In the end, if you still don't like it, that's fine. Everyone has their own opinions. It's only a movie after all.
It's in the top 3 ghibli movies. Princess mononoke is no 1. Then comes spirited away. Then ponyo. Then totoro. Then Kiki. Then castle in sky. Howls moving castle fits somewhere in there too. But spirited away is pretty rad. It helps when you're on drugs
Btw whiplash wasn't that good. 7/10 if that. Drummers don't fucking drum with the sticks in the place where he was bleeding, nor do drummers even bleed that much. Blisters maybe. But not if your technique is good. Also, jazz band isn't that serious. And if I was in that jazz band I woul have ripped a killer solo over his drum solo. Nobody lets the drummer take over an entire song. Overly dramatic/10
Why don't you just hate people who are cocky about their own beliefs instead of hating everyone?
Better yet, why don't you stop using the wrong "their", you colossal fucking twat?
>The only thing that's better about theists is that they aren't cocky about their beliefs.
Is this sarcasm?
I take it you call yourself agnostic. Guess what, if you don't believe in any gods, you are an atheist whether you like it or not.
You are most likely an agnostic atheist, meaning that you don't have any religion but you don't think we'll ever know or you just don't say certainly and with confidence that god does not exist.
IF YOU ARE INTO NATURE AND NICE CAMERA SETTING, GO FOR THIS HUGE THING. its amazing. 2011
Fuck that movie is sad, gets me every time. So does the Green Mile.
I have never experienced sadness and depression through such a powerful soundtrack.
The Act Of Killing (2012)
Happy People: A Year in the Taiga (2010)
Not good enough I get the plot I appreciate the effects and camera angles however no this movie is boring. I respect your opinion to like this movie but did not convince me enough to remove ribs and suck my own cock
Demi-god tier: Check.
God tier: Check.
Omni Alpha Omega: Double Check.
