Trying to cut down my portions and eat better.
European fags of /b/ do you mother fuckers really eat this fucking little?
french faggot here so you probably don't give a shit what I have to say but yes, we also don't fucking eat bacon and eggs for breakfast, a cup of black coffee's and a cig are enough
Average meal when I still ate fishsticks was about 5, and some rice and sauce with that
Couple of places I've been in Europe had great food and somewhat decenr portions, but mostly I experienced what you did. It's no surprise they are all skinny when their food tastes like shit, nobody wants to eat.
I usually just eat 1 meal a day, dinner, and I eat about 1.5 of the american dinner shown there. Seems crazy to live off 3 european sized meals, like how is that even enough calories to be healthy
Brit fag here, 2 meals a day are fairly typical, maybe a fruit in the morning. Lunchtime depends, salad, a sandwich, something light. Dinners are usually larger, but not too small either. The archetypical european portion presupposes a starter, and a desert/sweet course after.
Eating healthy isn't that hard. Just have a bowl of cereal and a banana in the morning. Eat an earlier lunch, just a sandwich with whole wheat bread or a salad. Have a protein shake a little later, and for dinner just have a chicken breast and some veggies with a salad if you need a little more. Just drink water during the day and go for a run or walk at night and you're good money. Will you get super ripped off this? No. But you will lose weight and become much healthier.
>bitches don´t know about my knäckebröd for breakfast
>"oi mums i sure hate americans i do. s'not fair they's gets to eat lots an we's just gots these mud pies an fish 'eads innit"
>"shut a fuck up an get back ta scrapin the cow shite out tha field ya pa's hungry innit"
>yuropoors in a nutshell
who the fuck orders fish fingers in a restaurant?
Also, as a european, even as a kid we had at least 2 fish fingers on the plate. in your teenage years you move onto probably about 4.
now that i'm an adult i only eat fish fingers if im round someone else's house who has kids because its fucking kids food. if you want fish fried in batter you can fucking do it yourself with literally no skill or prior experience and then you might as well get yourself a nice fillet of fish so you won't be stuffing reconstituted fish bits down your neckhole.
Honestly I find 3-course dinners too much most days, but I do always have an aperitif, perhaps with something small, before dinner. It's nice just to line the stomach with a light starter, or even a bit of bread, before eating proper.
It isn't that at all.
The United States is like other hot, fertile regions of the world: Our ingredients are intensely flavorful, and our foods are characterized as having a variety of simpler tastes, mashed up together.
Many other cultures have foods we consider 'bland', because they emphasize a single, culturally favored flavor.
Knäckebröd med mackrill mästarras, kamrat
heres my daily meal schedule, havent gained a pound in years.
morning- bacon, egg, and fried tomato on sourdough with mayo
lunch-fries with quinoa breaded chicken strips
dinner- steak with homegrown potatoes, zucchini, carrots, green beans and yellow squash
desert- chocolate bar
Lmao poverty bread, yes euros don't eat and they are thin, but they're not fit. You're all gangly skinnyfat lanklets.
I eat the middle one.
However I also snack on health foods throughout the day.
Wake up fiber bar.
meal size doesn't matter
it's all calorie intake.
i could easily cut out two snacks and replace with another meal.
It never ceases to surprise me how quickly I'm called out on this, regardless of board. Anyways, you're basically right.
By chips are you referring to chips or crisps - as I'm around too many foreigners to know which is what lately. If you mean the former it's a pain to get good ones, although there's a local pub that has started making nice sweet potato chips, as hipster as it is to say so. If the latter, I honestly can't find any nice ones anymore, Tyrrells are too hard, Kettle taste terrible, and then there are odd brands that are fairly poor too.
North is the nicest part of Britain, Scotland is great for driving and holidaying, Yorkshire to Rutland is very nice for living. I'm thankful to be out of London, and the south is far to cliquey for my tastes.
The south-west was very nice though, when I sailed a lot I had an apartment over there to stay over when I moored in the area, very nice people.
You realize that there is nothing wrong with eating a large breakfast as long as the rest of your day consists of things other than mountain dew, Doritos, and call of faggot: the ghost of faggot, right? 6'3 175lb speaking
>no carbs , no sugar, lots of fibre
Keep eating that shitty wonderbread you hick
anyone else eat smoked salmon and scrambled eggs?
Sicilian sandnigger reporting
Sicily is one of the few exceptions in europe.
We eat a lot of food and most of the time it comes from other parts of sicily so it's very healthy and just fucking good
as you were english i meant chips as in chips, not crisps.
also i agree with you. i really don't like the tyrrells or the kettle crisps. there was one brand our local sold when i was at uni. cant remember the name of them but one was mustard flavour i think. not too hard. not too soft. Branstons maybe?
I miss england. the south west is pretty awsome. good music, sound parties, friendly hippie types. good vibes all around.
terrible fucking food though
>Liking the smell of dirty pussy in the moring
input vs ouput...
Carbohydrates are mandatory for the human body to function.
Out of all the things to cutback on to an extreme you are choosing the worst.
You brain requires a certain amount of carbohydrates daily to function at its regular potential.
Are you trying to troll me? Unlike protein and fat sugar has to be burned immediately, otherwise it becomes fat. So if you wanna eat a candy bar you'd better be in the middle of a marathon, or that shit's becoming fat.
I spent a short stint near Loughborough, working with the uni, and the town has a pub associated with a local brewery. They had a brand of crisps that I hadn't (and still haven't) seen elsewhere, really nice actually, wish I could get them.
Where do you go?
britfag here Today I ate two bags of chips (crisps)
I stayed in the hood in philly and peurto rican food was tasty and plentiful. Food here is bland and tasteless partially because ot less additives and colorings and hormones cause eu is more strict on that
Here portions are smaller but not that small- there are more prepackaged food here like sandwiches and wraps which I never really saw much in USA
Overall the food here is shit and the diets are also crappy. It's not that we eat less here just that there is less driving because countries/cities are smaller and geared towards public transpit and walking and less additives in food really
i'm from New Zealand, portions aren't that big here, resturant portions are sizably larger for the most part, but you don't actually need that much food, smaller portions aren't bad
The culture of my country is such that I eat A LOT, and I mean A LOT, but it's mostly awesome food that you probably never heard of, and no, it's not fast food, so we stay healthy.
Salmon is probably the most common fish product on the American market.
Personally I use a light oil and quick fry it on scales, then turn down the temperature and flip it over.
takes maybe 10 minutes at most.
Baking is the preferred method by most people.
>in a temperature-controlled steam environment for longer than normal cooking times—96 hours or more, in some cases
That might be why.
Looks like it would cook meat really well though.
Yea eather that or you could just put it in a pan, smear a thick layer of pesto on it, put in a mid-low heated owen about 125C or 257F for you americans for about 20 minutes and serve
You dont have to do shit, other than wait
grow some balls and make yourself a better country like we did and maybe you can have your cake and eat it too. or just eat your shit soup and post on bchan all day complaining.
Much easier than that.
You vac-pack your food, ideally with a chamber sealer, but for most things you can just use a food-packer or even zip-lock bags. Then you get a water circulator with heating element and heat a pot of water to a set temperature. Stick bag of stuff into water, wait. Most meats about 2 hours is fine, not very sensitive to time, so you can just as well start it in the morning.
Mmm not really.
I should have clarified portion.
each "Nuts" is a half cup.
just enough to put something on my stomach so I don't feel like i'm starving.
On days I go running generally there is another bannana added or a full cup of mixed nuts.
At least in northern Europe most of us take the bicycle to work, shopping, picking up kids etc, which really helps. Consider the type and quality of your produce - it doesn't have to be fancy Fair Trade stuff, just take a moment to actually look at the content descriptions of packaged goods, buy raw meat and vegetables whenever possible and always keep (fresh!) fruit around.
I can't stress the last part enough, since the worst stuff that you eat in the course of a day is usually when snacking - so try to keep it healty and filling rather than "fat and quickly over".
Also, if something could be descriped as "American [...]" (e.g. "American cheese"), it likely isn't good for you.
Holy shit I just noticed this
When have niggers taken over america
The people around me are eating better now than at any point in the past, especially young graduates and the like. Lots of fitness, gym-going, recreational sports and careful diets. I'm fairly shocked by how healthy young professionals are today.
I'm not saying having a little bread will make you fat. But Murricans generally have a shit load of starches with a little meat, and few veggies if any. And if we do eat a salad, we'll probably use low fat (meaning sugar added) dressing.
my country is rated AAA, yours ain't.
nope, higher average IQ and better education.
nope, quite the contrary
nope again, better (and universal) healthcare and healthier foods + eating habits.
>And now you're swamped with refugees
well, at least they niggers.
That's easiest. I ask my butcher to send me quite a few things pre-packed now, portioned out, some herbs or whatever I want inside.
Same thing with the fishmonger, it's really hard to seal fish at home without pulverising it.
That's not just Murica though brah.
Right now UK has higher obesity rates than Murica for smaller population.
Europe is not far behind.
I would say in the next 20 years being skinny will be labeled a physical disorder.
Fuck yeah that stupid nigger couldn't even clear his chamber.
>I found a briefcase with an ak, a pistol, and a bunch of ammo
Yeah fucking Allah blessed you with it. Fucking stupid sand niggers, all those Frenchmen would have laid down and taken their pants off if it wasn't for those servicemen who could tell that they were about to be culturally enriched.
Like preparing European food with more fat and sugar plus enlarging the portions is food culture.
other than chili cheese fries there are literally no american dishes.
yea finnkrisp is pretty nice to, I´d atmit that, but god damn it finland what the hell are you doing! memma is the worst shit I´ve ever tasted
Depends on the meat quality. The Butcher I use is in Scotland and sends the meat to me via a refrigerated van. Quality is excellent, prices are fairly high. Last time I was in Harrods their Australian Wagyu fillet was £300/kg - just a matter of what and where.
I cheat the system though.
I supplement with low-sodium v8s and really healthy fruit/nut snacks inbetween meals.
I try to make my meals as healthy as possible while being reasonable for time and price.
I spend maybe $30 a week this way.
The most costly part of my daily meal is the bananas...
however bananas have near everything needed for a man to do men things. so the cost is fine for me comparing how i save in other ways.
>most common fish product
>'its not fresh though'
Doesn't seem to have kept you from eating more than the recommended dose of tuna. That was a mercury joke. Cause mercury causes autism. Im calling you retarded.
>You eat throughout the day to keep your metabolism going. Your body is like a furnace: you feed it often so the fire burns steady and wood chunks aren't just sitting there.
Actually I'm fat so when I'm not eating my body is burning the excess firewood I have laying around.
You never said "fresh"...
You just said that Salmon was the most common fish product on the American market. Cans of tuna beat everything else seafood related.
If you are only looking at fresh fish, salmon is right near the top, but tilapia comes in a close second.
Shrimp is the most consumed seafood in general in the USA though.
Like I said though, I have never seen it sold fresh.
I like inland, TN to be specific.
I get a lot of Salmon and other fish because of the Mississippi, but Tuna always seems to be a week or two old before it gets to me.
>europoors use plastic kiddy toys as silverware
>no american dishes
What is gumbo, jambalaya, boudin (basically all cajun and creole), all "Mexican" food (really it's Tex-Mex), pizza, and probably other shit I'd have to research to name?
There is a little over half of a gram of carbs in a large egg (tiny amounts of polysaccharides and glucose).
Salt is carb free and calorie free because it is fucking salt...NaCl...
>You never said "fresh"...
Yes, but I'm sure you know the facts on how much nutrition is lost between fresh and packaged foods.
A weeks travel for a "fresh" fish can make it lose a lot of it nutrients.
A months travel for packaged/canned tuna can destroy almost all of its nutritional value.
Damn now I remember being in the middle of the crowd on the last day of a 3days music festival on one of the hottest days this summer. the sweat and drug exhaltions smelled just like scrambled eggs, was one of the worst stenches I've evrr witnessed. Can only think of Surströming as worse. And it even was a normie festival, not a neckbeard meet up.
This.... well sorta
You have part of it right. The eggs and bacon are fine, bacon less so, should be more in moderation. The eggs? Perfectly fine, should be a staple of your breakfast.
Carbs are not bad though, in the least, and should be included in your meals, just not to the extent most americans eat them. Most americans eat somewhere near 60+% carbs in their diet due to all the breading, the grains, the sugars, etc.
Protein should be 45% or so of your intake, carbs about 35%, and fats the rest. Unless you're dieting or lifting, in which case you should cut fat and carbs down and increase protein intake.
Speaking from experience here as a fat american, was 315 a few years ago, started this year at 290, started mid september at 270. I'm now 260 and going to the gym 3x a week. My intake is somewhere around 55-60% protein, 25-30% carbs, the rest are fats. It varies based on what I eat that day but again, mainly protein.
Also theres nothing wrong with a restaurant having larger portion sizes, just like theres nothing wrong with having cake on your birthday. Neither should be a staple of your diet, they should be treats that you get occasionally thats nice, but not typical of your diet.
The real problems with americans, is DRINKING most of their calories. Soda, sweet tea, fruit drinks. A 2L of soda has 1k calories in it. It doesnt fill you up, has no nutrients to speak of, its just sugar (well, HFCS). Sweet tea? A cup of sugar for a gallon, means about 800 calories in that gallon. Fruit drinks are just as bad, loaded with HFCS or people pour a cup or two of sugar in koolaid and the like. Thats not to even MENTION alcoholic drinks loaded with calories as well (as much as a typical soda)
If American's stopped drinking so many calories, and adjusted their diet to be higher protein and lower carb, they'd be fine, probably still overweight, but not landwhales like they are now.
The main reason people started adding more fish into their diet was Omega-3 fatty acids...the canning process does little to effect a change in the end Omega-3 content within tuna.
toss a cup of water and a cup of sauvignon blanc in a high walled pan, bring to simmer, lightly place salmon scale side down in pan, sprinkle with a light bit of dill and lemon, put a pat of butter on top, keep heat at a simmer till outside of fish turns from deep pink to light pink, turn off heat, cover pan for 5 minutes.
poof, now you can poach salmon too.
Except if you're eating only one meal a day, your body is clinging to nearly every calorie and storing it as fat. Your body is basically "this nigga barely eats and idk when the fuck I'm getting more calories so im putting this shit in storage in case this motherfucker decides not to eat all."
Unless if the one meal you eat a day is like 2000+ calories, but either way it is much better for you to eat 3 balanced meals then 1 huge ass meal a day
white, sourdough, wheat, whole grain, flaxseed, bulgar, rye, dark rye, and kind-of any mix in between.
and that's like... every store
although I make my own lately so mostly I've just been eating ciabatta with mixed seeds on top
Well northern europe is retarded in food price. Having a proper steak dinner (minus the drinks) in Amsterdam at the price of a fast food meal in Finland was a strange feeling.
not american, but rather be big and strong than frail and skinny
you can always lose the fat, but your development suffers from not eating enough
i know because i went on a fucking diet during puberty and it fucked me over permanently
Yes. Their food is shit too. I eat healthy for the most part. No fast food, sugars I keep on the low, and corn syrup drinks are a no. Their portions are smaller which is good. I hate to even waste shitty food.
Yup, working on it though, gym tomorrow at 8:30am right after I get off work
Dont drink calories, drink unsweetened tea, coffee, water, or use no calories sweeteners if you dont think they'll give you cancer (most taste like ass though, but theres a brand I tried, rocky mountain sweetener, use half what it recommends, I quit using it though, got used to unsweet tea)
Readjust your meals to include more protein, fewer carbs. Check the labels on food, dont pick sauces or things with HFCS or sugars. Make your own sauces, say, for spaghetti and the like, use veggies, etc. Dont pour ketchup on everything you eat. Pick salad dressings that dont use HFCS and use oils and vinegar and veggies
Cook your meals, stop eating at mcdonalds. Its easier, but more expensive, and loaded with shit they cook their food in. Cook breakfast, eggs, bacon, sausage, grapefruit, avoid cereals and oatmeals and bagels.
Literally do that, its all I did and dropped 40lbs steadily. I started tossing in lifting and such because I dont want to be flabby/saggy once its all gone, which means building muscle up, and losing weight slowly/correctly. Dont get your stomach stapled. Had a friend who did it, he still has huge saggy man tits, they're just not full of fat now, just loose skin. He was I believe 360 or so when he caved.
Who cares? Even though Europeans aren't as fat as Americans, they're close enough in percentages and their obesity rates are steadily increasing. While they may be lean compared to us, they aren't compared to the rest of the world.
By the way, unrelated by nutritional info: carbs rarely get stored into fat. They're primarily oxidized and it's the dietary fat that gets stored. Of course you won't get fat either way unless you're in a consistent caloric surplus.
Carbohydrates aren't essential for the human body.
You're welcome for blues, jazz, rock, techno and cinema that doesn't involve a mime smoking a cigarette in a park. oh phillip k dick, H. P. Lovecraft, hunter s. thompson, ernest hemingway, and jack kerouac should be included. On a note that is more relevant european haute cuisine sucks dick
Uh... cutting portions doesn't make you lose weight, it makes you hungry and you fill up with snacks between meals. Meals is where you eat meat and vegetables, it's healthier to fill up at those times than between them.
dude, get some fresh ahi tuna steaks they're the fucking bomb
just get some, rub all sides with a tiny tiny bit of olive oil and roll them in sesame seeds. then toss them in a pan for about 1 minute each side. it'll sear it, but leave the middle uncooked. Then cut it into thin slices and dip in soy sauce
I usually only eat an egg, but sometimes i eat all the eggs
>but rather be big and strong than frail and skinny
Skinny people live longer and have a higher quality of life.
Big people are prone to lifestyle diseases such as coronary heart disease and diabetes (about 1/3 people have, or will have, diabetes). Untreated diabetes usually results in amputation of peripheral parts, such as toes, feet, hands, genitals etc.
Started eating well-ish about 3 weeks ago. Whole-wheat pasta (just two ingredients, whole wheat flour and water) Chicken that I bake and veggies. Breakfast is the hardest for me because I don't really like breakfast food, but grapefruit sounds good. Thanks, anon.
It could be Brannigans crisps you're on about. I used to love them, not had them in years
Not the same guy but,
Ok I havent been to USA since I was 6 but I lived in Canda for a couple of months back in 2012 and I guess the food culture is pretty similar,
the problem was sure junkfood was cheap as fuck, but the price of vegetables was INSANE, no wonder that americans on a tight budget gets fat, it was cheaper to go out and get a huge hamburger and a gallon of coke than cooking something healthy for yourself
i eat bacon and eggs with toast for breakfast whenever i can. quality of life issue. no i'm not fat, my job is physical and burns off any excess calories the breakfast contains.
Arent amerifag's cereal got a lot of sugar in it? Everything else is fine i guess, except the cereal part. Why not switch to oatmeal instead. Oatmeal with fruits arent that bad either. Also, protip, just cut the portion of carb food such as potato, and add more vegies or fruit.
