Hey guys I have a few questions maybe someone can answer them.
How do I do the taxes thing? Let's say im starting to make money through ebay or stocks etc. Do I need to pay a percentage of the money earned to the government? and how do I go about doing that? Sorry for these dumb noob-tier questions but I hope someone can answer.
>>1060062 Well, you don't really have to pay sales tax in most situations. Your customers should be paying use tax but nobody enforces it.
If you make a profit, you should be adding it to your total income from a real job. But there are lots of ways to not make a profit and actally get a refund instead. Keep track if your expenses, from boxes and peanuts to the PC you're using to do eBay and "market research."
>>1060033 You don't learn entrepreneurship reading books. You go out there make friends and business spartners with like minded people. Most businesses fail because >you think you can do everything on your own >your team mates are just in it for the money / don't really believe in your idea >your idea is too stupid or unfeasible to be commercialised >luck
I'm a 19 year old Australian man, (20 this May) and I'm completely lost and depressed in regards to gaining employment.
I never finished high school due to recurrant medical issues (i spent 2 years trying to, but I kept getting sick). I got a Certificate II in Security Operations to make up for this, and this was accepted as a "Year 10 Equivilent"
My friends are either working full time or in university, and I can intellectually keep up with them, I always have.
I've applied for hundreds of jobs, and I'm literally willing to... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
NEET here. I WANT to work but unfortunately due to my lack of experience i'll never get a proper job. There is like no employer who wants to provide on the job training. They just expect you to have 5 years experience straight out of college and "superior leadership" skills or whatever. Also my social ineptness and autism prevents me from networking with people in general. Just stuck in a vicious circle and don't know what to do really other than help out with chores around the house and stuff...
>work in tech startup >HEY GOY WE'LL GIVE YOU ALL THIS FREE SHIT >DON'T EVERY WORRY ABOUT ANYTHING, WE'RE YOUR BUDDIES, NOT LIKE THOSE NORMIE CORPORATIONS >work absolutely insane hours for shit pay >targets become increasingly ridiculous because of the obsession with scaling, puts everyone under pressure, completely ruins the formerly fun working environment as more people start fighting >subtle... I am currently finishing up my 1st semester of CC, majoring in engineering, and was viewing a reddit thread about how much more benefits people who study trades get, how much they make, and how much more satisfying their job is. I would be graduating with an AS in engineering in 2 more years ( my math in hs was pretty shitty) and then i would need 2 more years (5 in total) to complete a BS in engineering and enter the job market. would entering into a trade/pre-apprenticeship where i can gain experience on the job, where they possibly pay for my education, and also where i would... >>1059881 >>1059951 i couldn't find a job after getting my mech eng bachelors. the only calls back i could get were for shit tier contract positions (6 to 12 months in length) with no benefits and pay ranging from 40 to 50k. working on my phd now and i doubt that'll pay off either if i graduate.
was going to go into trucking originally and it would have likely been a much better choice. first year you typically make 30 to 40k but you don't need college.
I have a question for fellow Englishmen on here. I've been studying in London for around a year and I've noticed that there are tons of Paki owned grocery stores like this one: http://www.rightmove.co.uk/commercial-property-to-let/property-39098442.html?premiumA=true Most of the time these stores were empty with just a Paki guy watching Paki TV or talking to someone on Skype.
My question is, how do these people afford to spend £65k/pa for rent and still manage to have enough income to live in London?
I came up with the theory, that those kind... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>1059840 In most cases, they are run by a family, not a single paki guy. Brothers, cousins and others jump in to cover the long working hours. It's very hard work for small pay (but after 30 yrs or so it starts paying out), and britcunts are not willing to do it.
Assuming ALL of these little shops are used to launder money, makes you and your tax autorithy look very stupid. Besides, it's easier to use consulting services and arts dealing for those kind of business.
For starters, that's a pretty large premesis, and on a very prominent bit of high street in one of the fastest gentrifying areas of London. The little corner shops will have a rent that's a fraction of that. Ten or twenty grand a year isn't an astronomical cost in the scheme of things. The other thing is that a lot of those shops, particularly the ones in good locations, are on a long lease that they signed years ago, so the rent will be even lower than it would be today. It takes time for these... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
So do you only work on commercial projects and no residential properties?
If so, you may want to expand into that market. I work in banking in Florida and there's still a lot of construction in central to south Florida but it seems to be slowing. A lot of foreigners are still throwing money around buying properties.
Also, what exactly do you do? Do you just provide cost estimations or do you actually provide roof work as well?
I work in banking and have met a fair amount of construction company owners. It seems cliche at this point, but networking is important. There should be associations for construction firms in your town where you can meet other owners. It won't help your margins but would help your volume, but building a relationship with some of the firms and offering a bit of discount could help.
Also, architecture firms in town are good to know as well. They'll often recommend a builder. Just write down the... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
