>>1055739 my wifes parents do this, charge hourly for things that dont take hours - if they drop the computer off you can squeeze a little extra dosh out of em
do housecalls (old people)
resell old parts, and although youll be ripping people off do extra stuff "oh I installed this anti virus software for free!" <- even though its a free anti virus and all you did to their comp was download and run it
do that and theyll give you "broken stuff" that you can resell

>>1055739 >we plan on doing other things like web development and app development and several muses we have had over the years Sounds like failure. You should focus on one service at first, especially if you don't have big marketing budgets. Getting clients is incredibly hard, and the hardness gets exponential the thinner you spread your offerings. Focus is key for you, and for perception. You will always make more money by focusing on a drilled-down niche than by offering everything under the sun.
>>1055716 Yeah I've noticed the tines I got the best deal where when I literally didn't care because I knew if I waited 10 days max I'd sell the item for almost double, which I had done 10 times prior which made me very confident.
But outside of that I usually fall flat on my face negotiating. Is it just a psychological game and I should be able to say no and stick with it? - even if I may not have many other options?
Without a background in accounting you will not pass. You also need a certain amount of hours working doing accounting shit. (Some of this is waived with an accounting degree, check the CPA website of your localality)
>read "How to become a millionaire" by MJ Demarco >realize I dont really have "Value" to give to the world hence I am not making a lot of money
Where do I start? How?
I dont know if I am interpreting this right but it sounds like I dont really need an original idea (will be great though) just an idea that people will place value in for some reason, perceived or real.
by doing it more. go to a random city and start preaching some bullshit on a street corner. or go to the civic center or learning annex and sign up to give a free seminar for whatever you happen to be a subject matter expert in.
the only way to get better at something, is to do it.
How do I get the workaholic mentality? I recently graduated and have been wasting huge amounts of free time. Once I get a job I know I'll regret it so fucking much.
I'm a world class expert at the "feeling guilty about not working" part. Now I just need to figure out how to do the "do any work at all" part.
Are there any productivity systems that will help me? Or is the only good system a lack of any system? Everytime I try to implement a system then I immediately think that the only worthwhile system is no system and I should just... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>How do i get the workaholic mentality? By actually enjoying and looking forward to your work. Just get up and get it done. It really isn't more complicated than that. If you hate what you're doing or are indifferent to it you won't be motivated to kill it every time you're put on a project or daily work duties. Unless you make yourself motivated by just having the desire to outperform the competition and having pride in your work, you lazy fuck.
>mfw I casually talked about Apple stocks getting bumped in 2012 at the dinner table with my family >mfw my VC stepfather invested in Apple and made a good amount of money >mfw I talked with him about Google stock going up after he made his money >mfw he offered to set up a trading account and give me a couple $1000 to put in Google

Instead I invested my own money in Bitcoin and made $300. Yay....
What have been your biggest finance fuck ups /biz/?
After the Model S came out, I toyed with the idea of putting $10k in TSLA when it was at $70. People thought it was a bad idea because TSLA was already up from $35 from the release/reviews of the Model S. I thought it still had room to grow, and now it's at $200. I could've made ~$18k.
Hey you made money off bitcoin. could have been way worse.
Hunches and feels don't make you a good investor, you were right to be nervous. The biggest fuck up in your story was investing in bitcoin. Even tho you made a profit you exposed yourself to so much risk for such a small return.
>>1055481 Are you asking because you might have a horrible boss or because you might be a horrible boss?
Generally from the perspective of a worker: -Micromanagement -Vague requests -Obvious favoritism -Poor distribution of workload e.g. you have 70 hrs of work to do your peer has 25. -Showing visible anger when it doesn't serve a motivating purpose -Ignoring the input of their subordinates -being unavailable/not following up on blocking issues

I'm taking my gap year and I'm 18 now. I am from the Netherlands but I am abroad now in Finland, not planning to stay here for long though. I applied for an open degree at the open university. And am not sure what modules to pick to reach my highest potentials. I am planning to get a master degree in the Netherlands though from an university that ranks at about <100. I want to get an international degree to become more employable rather than getting it in Dutch... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
