I'm gonna risk buying Chinese stocks after the crash they just had. The government won't let them fall much more.
>tfw fell for the mutual fund meme
i'd have lost less money just sticking it in a bog standard savings account
>tfw I have lost a substantial amount of money in my retirement account and personal investing account
G-good thing I wasn't planning to retire anytime soon. Surely the market will recover and I will make all of this money back.
What are some solid stocks with a five year return in mind?
What does /biz/ use for stock trading.

I am fixing to found a company with a sibling. We are planning to split 50/50, as we are both going to be working on the frontlines. While we do that I was going to have my spouse take care of the scheduling and home line. Well, I talked to my spouse about it and it seems that my spouse is being very sketchy about it. She wants 30% of the company just to pick up a phone and put a date on the calender. What should I do biz?
I just opened a kickstarter on Gofundme and I would love for anyone to go hear my story :) il leave the link here

Anyone have any tips on finding the cheapest flights (domestic, US)? Any ways to save money that aren't entirely obvious?
How exactly do people make money on youtube?
Do you need to hit a certain amount of subscribers for you to be noticed and, subsequently, paid?
i don't think there is a monetization threshold anymore. you just won't make much money unless you have a lot of views per video.
the best way is to advance from there is to get direct endorsements, advertising placed directly in the videos themselves. You make a lot more money that way.

WILLIAMS PARTNERS LP (WPZ)
Williams Partners, LP (WPZ) is an MLP that operates regulated interstate gas pipelines, gas gathering pipelines and processing plants, NGL fractionation plants, and a petrochemical cracker (which consumes ethane and propane to produce ethylene and propylene)
Despite having an irreplaceable asset based built around one of the single most valuable pipelines in North America (Transco which is a regulated gas pipeline connecting the Northeast with the Gulf Coast), WPZ is trading at ~.5x book value, 8x EBITDA (not a tax payer) and carrying...

Transferring to a university after my gen eds are done at my current community college.
I now have two options, I wanted to major in compsci and go to school in state in IL.
My first option is to just go to uni here, and rack up probably 50k in loans.
My second option is to take ASU's online software engineering degree for free.
the main thing im worried about is how online programs are looked down upon, although my diploma wouldnt have any mention of it being online
also the availability and possible difficulty in finding internships
online is garbage and no one will respect you or your degree.
do normal uni. apply for financial aid, federal work study, scholarships, etc. Be frugal. There are lots of scholarships for community college transfers. I got a 5000 dollar one for just having above a 3.0. Make connections with people to increase chances of jobs later. Get a job during school and use money to pay loans.
Can someone explain to me why I shouldn't just put all my money into a Vanguard ETF that has been performing exceedingly well for the last few years?
Is it literally that easy as to just buy as much of it as I can and wait?
Why exactly do daytraders and such exist when you can seemingly just buy one security and receive above average returns on it?
Some of the ones I've looked at literally boast 10%+ p/a since conception...
And considering this shit statistically beats nearly all actively managed funds that people keep saying, isn't that pretty much le secret trick?
Why do people even bother insetad of just dumping in their money into those kinds of ETFs and sitting back?
what do you guys think about this book ? is it still best book about investing ?
Hey /biz/ , a bit of a weird question but that's really holding me back. So how do you stay focused and don't lose concentration? I know what I have to do and how to do it but I just get distracted all the time, I can't seem to be able to focus on something in particular and even if I do I lose interest quickly when I see that I can do that shit. For example my hobbie was fashion, I was super interested in all the fabrics, the textures of the garments and so on. But I started a small business selling designer clothing and while I do admire the craftsmanship I...

Can a /biz/nessman explain to me how Bernie Sander's proposed 50¢ tax on stock transactions would affect the American economy? Specifically, how such a small amount would become significant enough to drive away investment.
