Should I major in finance or accounting?
I've been told that accounting is better if you're not a dumbass and can pass the CPA test, is this true?
Accounting is safer. Better choice if you're in an average or < school. Finance can be good. Do which you prefer. Get a perfect GPA and get good internships. You'll be fine either way.
Can't go wrong. A lot of interviewers will actually understand when you explain to them "It made the most fiscal sense for me to go to a cheaper university, rather than mire myself in debt."
Don't believe the shit about needing a top tier school to get high paying jobs.
If only someone was on here telling you to buy NXT at 3800 yesterday.
Oh wait, I was.
4200 now and we're just getting started. Tried to make you rich /biz/. Hopefully some of you listened.
Why can't anyone get the ticker right?
is legal/feasible to have in your Will the distribution of your estate to the person who killed you? whoever it is, unnamed.
I'm not aware of any reason why you couldn't. It'd be an interesting catch-22, as accepting the money could be construed as an admission of guilt.
That said, you'd want a much more robust will. In the (significantly more likely) event that you die of other causes, you'd want to specify who gets your estate so that it doesn't end up in probate.
In some places it is illegal to profit from your crime and since a will is basically a contract it cannot be honored since no contract for illegal stuff can be honored. I am unsure if that is a federal law or not.
can I get a 6% montly return if I start taking my savings into gold and silver?
What would be a good degree investment for someone who has no real interests?
I just graduated from college and I have $20,000 sitting in a checking account with no interest. What's the best thing to do with it that requires no management?
dave ramsey please go.
OP, you should invest in overseas buisness. Your 20k is worth 200k in certain currencies. Pay people to do things you dont want to do and then send their effors back to the states.
Why am I seeing URRE all over /biz/
give it a rest already. nobody gives a fuck
Can someone explain this bitcoin getting to over 1 million a coin meme? Why would it shoot up that high? And what would you even do with a single bitcoin? You wouldn't be able to spend it on anything really.
If this sounds retarded, it's because I'm completely bitcoin illiterate.
>Why would it shoot up that high?
It wouldn't, unless rich people and hedge funds started buying it.
>And what would you even do with a single bitcoin? You wouldn't be able to spend it on anything really.
Bitcoin is divisible to 8 decimal places. 1/100,000,000 of a bitcoin is called a satoshi.
If 1 BTC = $1,000,000, then 1 satoshi = 1 penny.
Oh, so a coin is dividable. Good to know.
Still, I hear everyone on this board shilling about how one coin will be worth thousands if not hundreds of thousands, and some even say millions. I just have a hard time seeing that happening.
Imagine a roulette wheel of all possible future bitcoin prices. If you think there is even a 1/100 chance that a bitcoin would ever be worth 1mil then it makes sense to buy some. Its also a nice hedge against the banking industry collapsing under its own bullshit.
>Inflation .8% YoY
>GDP 1.1% YoY
>Profits down 5% YoY
>Fed promised 4 hikes in 2016
And some idiots seriously think they are raising in September.
Why do governments still suck Keynes' cock when Hayek was right all along?
>Hayek was right all along
"There is no reason why, in a society which has reached the general level of wealth ours has, the first kind of security should not be guaranteed to all without endangering general freedom; that is: some minimum of food, shelter and clothing, sufficient to preserve health. Nor is there any reason why the state should not help to organize a comprehensive system of social insurance in providing for those common hazards of life against which few can...

Why does bitcoin seem difficult to use/learn?
Want to start selling art porn, and want to be anonymous. I've heard bitcoin isn't even necessarily anonymous? And that you need to have bitcoin to even use the program?
Literally only way to be anonymous on BTC is to mine it yourself, that will take for fucking ever.
Best you can do now is buy from local bitcoins using fake identities and structure your trades so you're buying from multiple people and only in small amounts, with all different identities
There is more you have to do, but you get the idea, it's a lot of work, and is it worth it?
URRE is this stock a MEME? Am I an Idiot for investing I did a lot of research and in my option I can see this stock seriously rising in the next couple weeks/months thoughts?
>Still haven't filed a tax return for 2015
Who /badass/ here?
>Implying it's not because your NEET
I've had to file my 2nd 1040X amendment because I made an error on my initial submission, an accountant I hired re-did it and filed a 1040X, then we found errors with THAT amendment and so I mailed another one today
>$16,500 refund in 3-4 months
A: Just want to get rich, off anything
B: Want to get rich, but off something that you will be remembered and praised for?
I'd choose A, and they attempt to do B.
I'm at 330K net worth and 25 right now. My goal is to put my company in a position to sell for a decent amount and then become a NEET for a few years while I figure out what I want to do.
How much longer do I have to wait for this thing to go to shit?
I want to buy cheap stocks and property.
how is this considered a functioning market if it's nothing but bubble riders and market crash speculators?
it's like we collectively acknowledge current conditions are a farce, an abomination, a collective lie, and yet we keep fucking facebook afloat year after year
at least with tulip mania or gold rushes we can say "oh those silly little peasants"
How to profit off of Europeans?
How do people manage to live a wage slave life?
Had my first day at office yesterday (intern), that really sucks. Literally making millions for someone else while he pays you as low as he can, wasting all your time and energy on a boring routine proccess. Please explain how the fuck one is supposed to survive this. I am 19, if you wanna know.
>you will never "make it" while you're still young
why. even. bother
Can someone give me alittle info about bitcoin? Is it worth buying some? I know almost nothing about it, but it seems like the only crypto currency worth looking into.
Thanks in advance /biz/
Like fiat, Bitcoin has no real value.
Unlike fiat, Bitcoin is not backed or guaranteed in any way by any authority, so the market consists almost entirely of speculators hoping to get rich and criminals trying to buy drugs or launder money.
However, also unlike fiat, counterfeiting is impossible and the amount of coins added to the economy over time is fixed and finite. Additionally, it is as secure as hard cash and nearly as anonymous, but allows quick payments around the world.
So the question is really just, do you think Bitcoin will be more widely adopted? If so, buy it.
Hmm, that's some solid info, thanks. I'll do alittle research on my own to see if I think it will become more widely adopted. My thought was, bitcoin being essentially a criminal currency, it wouldn't go anywhere. But weirder things have happened, and it certainly has potential. If it were ever to become a mainstream form of payment, buying now would definitely leave me well off. I'm just trying to learn more about it before I sink six hundred for one imaginary coin.
/biz/ I hope you can help me (actual questions are at the end of the post).
I am looking to buy a house in about 12 to 18 months time. As I will be relocating to a new city to start my career (I am currently renting).

which country are you in? This is critical. If it's the USA, you're totally good and my advice applies. If not, ignore everything I have to say.
But here's the advice I'll give. Do not pay more than the minimum on your mortgage. Instead invest the difference. It will be incredibly tempting to just pay it off, but that's a bad move long term.
I could have paid my home off several times but I stuck the course and am seeing the positive effects of it now.
no one here understands the stock market
A recruitment site just posted a job I want. The ad will expire in 20 days.
When do I send my CV? Is today to soon? Is during the end too late? google says after 9pm on a tuesday but don't know which interval
Send it in now. They will likely start interviewing before the ad expires and if they find the right person, they'll hire them and take the ad down. Unless it is a government job or something. In that case, they might be required to accept resumes/applications for a specified period of time.
A question to those knowledgeable about finance:
When I place an order with a stockbroker like robinhood, how does the order get executed? What does robinhood do with my order, or who do they relay the order to?
They relay the order to whatever you chose while doing the trade. My broker gives me the possibility to trade about 35 stock exchanges worldwide, but I can also make direct deals with banks or pther small investors.
Jesus, how can one person be so woefully misinformed? RH does not relay order to exchanges. They sell the order to a HFT. It's called paid order flow, and it's how RH stays afloat despite not charging commissions.
As to your claim, I find it highly unlikely that your broker allows you to choose the clearinghouse for your trade execution. There are some premium brokerages that offer this service, but at a cost. You don't really seem smart enough to understand the difference, so I'm going to...

>investing in earthly equties
Hey guys i got a 33k bonus. I really want to invest the majority of it. What are some good etfs or any investment that you have made that were wise actions. Im not looking for "invest in ceru" or trumpcoin memes. Generally asking the older wiser crowd here (if there is any on biz) im 23 btw. Thanks guys.
Starts with an N and ends with an I.
I can't give out anymore information. Hold for 6-12 months. Good luck.
>will apply for an university
Any advice on what to study ?
Completely hypothetical question.
Say you were part of a hacker community and knew an exchange was about to get hacked, causing a crash in the price of bitcoin as happened recently.
How could you profit off this?
