I'm probably going fishing on the Bering Sea this spring/summer/fall. During that time, I'll have access to snail mail once weekly, the occasional email, and, very rarely, maybe a phone call. What are some ways I should be putting my money to work while I'm nearly cut off from society?
>>1016885 That's kind of what I was thinking, I was looking into Coca Cola and shit. Are there any precautions I should take in case shit really goes south while I'm stuck on the boat? I have zero experience trading stocks, outside of some simulation games I played back in high school
>>1016866 Because even a successfully designed, solidly structured business won't be profitable for 2-3 years. That would be perfectly acceptable if you have rich parents, which is why most successful people do.
For the rest of us, you'd starve and/or be evicted.
Why is getting bitcoins so fucking tedious and difficult?
I've never bought bitcoins before because every service wanted some information I didn't want to provide, but now I have a legitimate purpose for wanting them to pay for an online service and holy fuck is it making me jump through hoops.
The first annoyance was to even find a service I thought was acceptable, but none of them are, I just had to settle for the least intrusive one I thought I could find. I chose coinbase, and then I went to link my bank account. It wants my fucking back account login and password are you fucking kidding me? So then I have to search for a way around that, and I find a not well advertised way to forgo providing the password and just give them account and routing numbers. Then I have to wait 3-5 business days (it takes all 5) to verify the bank account.
>Alright, finally my account is verified let's buy some fuckin bitcoins and get this service paid for Nope, you can only buy $100 max so I'll have to do it on 2 separate days of $100 and $50. Oh but it tells me I can lift this limit by providing additional info like last 4digs of social security, some other security questions, and linking a credit card. So I do it, it doesn't fucking work, it still says $100 max. Fucking whatever I'll just do it in 2 days then. So I go and select to buy the first payment and it fucking tells me I have to wait 6 days for it to come in
What the fuck is even the point of bitcoin then? With all the damn hoops and info I have to provide to get any I'm sure someone out there knows exactly what I'm buying by now.
So much for anonymous online payments. What a load of crap.
I can't cancel the $100 pending payment because apparently it takes 6 days for the bitcoin blockchain to send me 0.2307 BTC (I know that's not true, but coinbase only offers a single explanation for why I can't cancel pending purchases, and that's it).
So I had a job with my buddy working search engine optimization and web building for a company. We went in today for a meeting today and were told that we were not able to still be on salary. The CEO wants to independently contract us for projects. He said he wants us to start an LLC and write up contract agreements for pay and other things and he has comprehensive agreements to protect both of us. My question is how do we start an LLC? Is this standard business practice when starting a new company? He assured us we would be taken care of but I am still worried about pay. Where... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>1016844 Our goal is to have the job we were working for as our main contract and then contract out smaller projects as we get going. This is a valuable project and he wants us to begin asap, so we really have to get this written fee contract finished.
>>1016844 >>1016860 In all honesty, we should have been hired as IC from the start, I just don't really know much about LLC, negociaing a fee contract and how to charge him for services, and how to find more clients .
Hey /biz/. my dream is to start a co-operative, in the areas of agriculture, web design, software engineering and later, maybe even R&D. My plan is to buy a huge chunk of land, solar panels (to save up on electricity), tractors and other agricultural real capital (to grow food), then buy very low-cost container houses, and issue invites to qualified Eastern Europeans and 3rd worlders, offering them a work visa and a share in the co-operative profits, housing, utilities and food in exchange for work.
Is this idea retarded? I'm 23 and have $75,000 saved up already.... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
People will fuck it up. First you'll have to advertise your plan to some third world schools, then you'll have to sift through all the people who wont just work a bit and leave because they want more than anything to live out of their country, and then you'll have to find people who are talented enough for your commie bullshit, yet are not being headhunted by massive companies who offer more than you.
I can just pay for local, targeted billboard or Internet advertising. There are lots of Rajeeshes who don't even have a college diploma, yet program better than you and me.
There's nothing commie about participating in global markets. Also, the Rajeeshes could bring their families, and they could work in the agriculture part of the co-operative if they aren't educated in anything... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>1016808 Well first, you need a steady source of income. No bank except maybe a loan shark is going to give you money and sit for six months for you to start making an income. You're also going to not use the credit card more than you can pay off by the end of the month. Paying interest on credit cards is bad for credit. Either way I know for a fact right now no one is going to give you a loan of more than $500
>>1016755 Every coin is a scam. A coalition of major banks and tech companies already got together to start making their own coin, once they start advertising that and lobbying against accepting any other coin as currency, all others will look like ripoff iPod chinese brands.
I was offered a chance to but OneCoin, but it seems fishy as hell, b/c of the theatrics that go with buying the damn coins. (Besides, who can I sell them, besides further investors - kekkens.) Still, as a pyramid scheme, it seems to be in the middle phase; so there's a chance for some profit. No?
I was thinking about putting some clickbait articles on Facebook that redirect to my website, that would be full of ads. Do this type of bait still catch many people? If so, would this make some profit since a lot of people are using ad blockers?
usury is probably the most important concept in the modern world. to create anything you need a loan of money, and why would you give a loan if you're getting nothing back?
they skirt around their own sharia laws by saying that you can give a loan at 3% intrest or something, and investing then collecting dividends instead of interest instead which in reality is exactly the same thing as lending on intrest but just worded differently. Islamic banking is fucking stupid
