Why do people monger over crashes and recessions so much when they are always temporary? Why sit out on hundreds of percent in gains just to short a measly 25-50% gain. Just avoid allocating a bunch of money into bubbles (diversify) and hold. There's literally no reason to worry about a crash unless you are retiring in <10 years.
Any psychologists or sociology fag have an input on why humans are so drawn to making little returns shorting a crash rather than buying and holding?
Bartending is the most common job business owners had before they became rich. When I was in Uni, we surveyed a bunch of business owners here in Chicago about what they did while they were starting their business. 54 of the 91 people we interviewed said they were a bartender/worked in a bar to make ends meet until their business took off.
You get good tips and you get to work in the evenings/nights, focusing all day on your business.
Second answer (mostly from Finance guys) was personal banker/financial adviser. Was salary based and worked 3-4 days a week with... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Just become a security guard and work your way up to being the guy who trains other security guards. They work 8-4 office hours daily in a heated office with internet, and they don't train people every week.
uh. if you want the job? yeah you give it to them.
it should be pretty obvious but you dont want to hear it, they want to gauge your salary based on your personal experience as opposed to industry median. doesnt mean what they offer will be set in stone, though, just means you need to negotiate and fight for it.
>>1000652 >they want to gauge your salary based on your personal experience as opposed to industry median You didn't read. They've already given me a formal offer in writing (with a dollar amount tied to it).
I live in California, my father left me with antique furniture (Chippendale style, chinese dragon chairs and so on) before he passed away. I am young, I've been carrying this stuff around (storage/uhaul..ect) to the point where i I cant afford to hold on to it. I've seen on the market what I can get for these but I dont want antique stores to rip me off. most of the pieces are in mint condition-unfortunately not all because of moving- so I wanna sell this asap. I should also mention I probably have a month to get rid of them because reasons and my situation. any... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>1000488 Oh man you are doing an Avanti like solution? Good luck with that, these kinds of business get completely eaten away with perishable goods and credit card fees. You are going to be lucky to break even if you have enough volume.
>>1000515 Not Avanti, another provider though. I've got a growing location so I'm hoping it works out.
The thing I have going for me is that the location is almost completely isolated from other nearby foodservice. To go grab an energy drink, a coffee, or any sort of sandwhich takes their entire lunch period.
If it doesn't work out, it doesn't work out; hence only one location initially. It's not like I have many better options where the money would perform better.
>>1000599 Do you have a route servicer lined up? Have any current vending machines available? If this is an established business go with the loans. If you don't have any other vending machines then lease your equipment with a purchase option.
It also depends on if you have a whole lot of turns or if you get stuck holding. How many SKUs are you going to be stocking and what is the breakdown between cold, perish and dry goods?
I started a small music & entertainment company four years ago and only within the last year and a half things have kicked off. I have a growing team, a partnership deal with a major label, solid musical acts from across the country and the globe, and an entertainment network that most people would kill for.
The problem is - we haven't made any solid money yet, at least nothing to make a big deal over. I have this anxiety about taking things to the next level, a sort of panic that keeps me procrastinating and unfocused. Any advice or similar stories?
>Pic unrelated I have a pretty fucking awesome idea to replace advertisements(which will also kill data mining in theory). It doesn't matter what it is for this discussion, just think that my solution is a true alternative for display, search and native advertising.
Do I launch my company NOW or wait till advertising is at its peak and users are sick of intrusive advertising? With microshit rolling out windows 10 aggressively data-mining and personalizing ads I think I should wait a bit till more people are sick of seeing ads.

Develop a thorough understanding of your market and the players involved. You're talking about bankrupting some of the richest people in the world, my investment strategist's cousin who is a multi billionaire had his baby stolen and ransomed, the kid wasn't returned. My IS's own kid has almost been kidnapped twice. Tie down your weak points and prepare for a shitstorm.
Tldr: should an entrepreneur have business degree or not when he already has skills capable of running a biz but just needs hands-on experience?
I really want to become an entrepreneur, I have a big passion for leadership and business. I have made a lot of mistakes in the past: -In secondary education I chose a business profile with biology, at that time I had a big interest in science etc. but things changed after my grades in biology slipped to less than average and business grades skyrocketed in the final year of school. -I went to Finland with the idea of... I am able to speak 3 languages of which 2 are Chinese and English. I like to study in my free time about business related things that interest me such as human resource management, leadership, accounting etc. I am good with money, I am like a Jew when it comes to money. I believe in the laws of leadership, it's like a religion to me. I know I should be patient and develop the skills I am passionate about more.
