Hold on to your ass. Opec meets on December 4th. This will be "the big one". There will be many "rumors" this week. Probably not a good idea to trade off any of them.
Traders want to sell a lot of oil "short" but are scared of Opec (read Saudis) making a counter intuitive decision in that regard. So price action might be flat up to that date.
If they, Opec/Saudis, announce no change in policy, oil begins descent to a $20 handle. If they announce "cooperation" (their definition is different than yours) price goes to $50 ish... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>978332 I honestly don't know what the fuck to do, coming from an upcoming oil and gas engineer here, I really think I've fucked up. I'm finishing a 2 year extended diploma and trying to get an internship with a degree tied into in, just for the experience. How fucked am I? What should I do instead of oil and gas (there's still time to turn my shit around)
Many of us here agree with you, and you are in fact correct that a flat tax rate is fairer on everyone
However, the majority of people are burger flippers, and they have decided that since higher earners can afford to cover more than their fair share, they should be forced to do so and take some of the burden off the working class
It's pragmatism over idealism, the only realistic way to support bloated modern governments
A flat tax rate for everyone would necessitate a huge reduction in the size of the state, and politicians can't propose something... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
I'm in a dilemma because I'm trying to approach the problem with opposite mindsets, so I'm looking for some advice on the matter.
I started my first year of university in Poland (it's free here) this year. I'm doing Chemical Technology and I started the year with a plan of mastering later in pharmaceutical chem. While I do find some of the subjects interesting (especially the chemistry subjects) I'm having second thoughts because I perceive it more as a "This is interesting and cool to know" rather than a "I find this so interesting... >>977974 Student loans are already backed by the government. So there is no vicious cycle of margining off the loans like the banks did in the housing situation.
A massive number of graduates need to default, massive like in the 100,000s. Then the government will lose expected income that will be noticeable. Then they will garnish wages of those 100,000s because you cannot default on government backed loans.
It will then become a California default situation where a private bank will then have to cover the debt... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>977978 The speculation is a college degree will allow a person to get a well-paying job, which will then be able to pay off student loans plus interest. What happens when the job market becomes too saturated with college (happened before, pre-revolution Iran had tons of unemployed college grads because not enough jobs were available that need college grads)? If grads have no (well-paying) jobs, and cost of college keeps going up, we sooner or later will see a mass-default on student loans. Won't this have a massive effect on the economy?
Don't take out student loans for anything more than the cost of tuition. You can pirate just about any textbook online. You can get a job to cover costs of living. You can apply for scholarships for just about anything from perfect attendence to making the Dean's List. I see way too many retards taking out loans for apartments, cars, laptops, clothing, etc. Then they bitch and moan because they are fucking retarded scum. If you make up any excuse to why you can't get a job while studying or expect things to be "free", then you will... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
People are poor because they don't save money. They would rather buy "nice things" than save money. Unless you are a minimum wage degenerate, there is no reason you should not be saving. Everything you've done, you've so voluntarily. Don't blame your student loans, credit card debt, and other mistakes on the government or "muh capitalism" like a little faggot. If you are too ignorant to thrive in a capitalist economy where anybody can make it, then go hang out with the socialist faggots in Sweden.
>Live in central Iowa >Acquire 63K >23 years old >Make 42.5k a year >No debt besides 3k in student loans >Pay 540/mo in child support/health insurance >110 phone bill >130 auto insurance >500 rent/utilities
>>977697 >>rent a place >>you give your money away and someone else gets a nice house in return Don't listen to this bullshit. Unless you live for free with someone, you will always have to pay for a place to live. You can get a 30 year mortgage and at the end of 30 years you will have paid whomever holds the debt triple the original price of the home. Then you are the dumbass. Paid triple for a fucking house.
Rent a cheap place on half/third... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
How do I get a job with a specific company? I've applied directly on their website, reached out to company 'recruiters' on LinkedIn. I have done hours of 'free' work related to their business to show I am committed.
Do I just need to know someone? What is the boundaries I should obey when trying to reach out?
>>977622 This is a good idea but here's how to do it.
Call the person who runs the department you are interested in. Tell that person you want to discuss with him on an idea that will save or make him more money. You will initially state you are a consultant. You have the meeting, avoiding all the HR fucksticks, and you'll state you really wanted to work for the company but figured you could be a consultant or contract worker to prove yourself first. He will be impressed, call HR and accuse them of being goat... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
I'm applying for a job where I will be asked behavioral interview questions. Does anyone here have experience with these types of questions? What are some solid answers to the following?:
>Tell me about a time when you worked with difficult team members. What did you do? >Tell me about a time where you ran into competing work commitments and direction. What did you do? >Tell me about a time when you were at risk of missing a deadline. What did you do?
How would... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>977563 Always have 3-part answers for each question. For example:
One time at band camp we had a new hire who challenged all our methods. I called meeting of staff, brought our new hire's concerns to the attention of everyone and cleared the air resulting in immediately positive actions.
>23 >starting to realize I'm too disabled to work >only thing I'm good at is music production and its all I care about
Holy fuck why am I so fucked? I could never just be a normal blue collar person who sets up their own business after. Music production is so all or nothing and I'm no good at talking to people or even making beats. I've honestly played with the idea of just running off in the night to a big city to see if I can break out of being a pussy... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Find a gay guy with money to take care of you. Set boundaries. I don't mind being bottom but I will not suck any dick. It's been a healthy relationship for almost 3 years now. He doesn't even know I'm not gay and have women over while he's at work. I'm 21. He's in his 50s and owns some company with a bunch of Mexican employees (property management or something). He was married to a woman and had two daughters. They are 14 and 17. Gonna fuck em both.
