Is there anything more soul crushing than failing tonnes of internship and graduate job interviews due to bad social skills and then graduating and working a near minimum wage menial job while living at home?
And I'm realising that people at workplaces really really fucking hate you if you're introverted. Even if you're part-time they really fucking hate you. If this happens at part-time jobs, how the hell could I possibly succeed in some white-collar, HR-Stacey-filled, posh-people-filled, management sucking up workplace? >inb4 go in to STEM. Many STEM... >>1083539 You didn't realize the most important thing at all - you don't wanna succeed in there. Yes even in STEM. Succeeding means kissing a$$ left and right, ... ah you know I dont even wanna continue. It makes me sick just thinking about it. A good way to get a heart attack and nothing to show for it.
Think what youre good at, or polish your skills in the afterhours and open your own thing. It may be small at first, but great trees grow from well cared for trees.
What is the chance of me getting hired if I call a mom-and-pop roadside computer repair shop and ask for a job? I'm nineteen, never worked a day in my life, in college for an A.S. in Network Systems, and have an A+ and MTA cert.
>>1083420 >roadside computer shop More often than not they'll ask how good you can sell things rather than whether or not you're qualified to repair computers.
But yeah, you would have decent chances provided you can show that you have the skill. Seriously, I got a job working in L1 tech support making $15/hr for EVGA when I was 17. Still in high school, only ever worked at a grocery store, and no certs.
Context: Graduated last month with a double major in stem field and finance
No job offers at all. Applied for internships, 2/3 of them said they'll get back to me last week. They haven't yet. All part time and small yet great places (Ad-software giant, Luxury consulting firm, and B2B business)
Uncle referred me to job at company he works at, 30 miles away.
What should I do in this case? The job is 30 miles, which means I will get home extra late and wake up extra early. Also includes "some travel and "nights and weekends to work"

Why don't you take the job at least for now and keep applying for internships. If you're halfway decent, you won't burn bridges if/when you jump ship and might end up working a job you actually care about..
The dust has settled after a series of really unfortunate occurrences. My father died several years ago and my mother recently passed as well. Due to a falling out with my brother, I was left everything. I'm just starting to deal with the financials now. If you guys don't believe me, take it as a hypothetical if you want.
I was left many properties and not that much money. 670k CAD in an account, and then the houses/condos. There is a 1.3M CAD home in Edmonton, four condos in Vancouver totalling 1.8M CAD, a large property on Vancouver Island (beachfront, 5 acres... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Depends what you want man. That's a pretty huge sum of money for one person. I'd personally sell it all off in no hurry, put it in a safe investment account, and just continue my meager life.
If you're accustomed to an expensive lifestyle and want to use the money to keep it though, you might want to seek out training or education to continue doing what type parents were doing since it worked so well for them.
So I speculated on this card last week when it was sitting at 2.33, at it's lowest current value it's sitting at 8.50 I predicted 10.00 If you picked up a hundred of these last week you would have made 617 dollars from a 233 dollar investment
i don't expect to make money off the neckbeards when I go to the local shop to play every Friday night, I just budget off a certain amount of money as write it off as gone with no return in sight except the return of smiles and crushed skulls xD
>>1083256 Anon is right, stop fucking shilling, you also forget that shops will undercut you even if speculation is correct. if it rises to $10 shops will offer you $6-8 per each one, to truly make a profit like you said you would have to barter with fucking neck beards, and who wants to fucking interact with neckbeards.
I've posted a lot about my business on /b/ and been told that I'm not fit to run a business. Included were the fact that I signed a lease with a landlord that made me responsible for some expenses of the other tenants and buying day old, poor quality but still sellable food for almost retail costs to then sell my customers. In both cases I failed to negotiate, didn't understand what I was being offered, and had a lawyer that was unhelpful or too slow to give advice.
Ultimately, I sold my business to the competitor who was selling me his day old food on... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
What's the best way to setup a subscription-based service? I could get mailed a check every month, but I'd like something more official, online, and easy. I don't want my clients to think that much every time they pay me. There's Paypal but I don't trust them too much with a lot of money. I'd like something involving credit cards or wiring transfers, something anyone can do already without setting up an account somewhere. What do you recommend?
They don't have a great reputation. I don't want someone to file a claim with Paypal when I actually did complete the service. Plus, like I said, I want them to do something that doesn't involve setting up an account.
