Is piracy wrong? I pirated the shit out of everything back when I was a teenager, but now I'm making decent money and have enough to easily afford the software/movies I want to watch, yet I still pirate non-stop...
Should I stop? It's very hard paying for something when you can easily get it for free.

ok /biz/antines. I'm a procrastinator and I got some homework due tomorrow. My question is, what are your thoughts on self-driving cars? There are projected to be 10 million of them on the road by 2020. Tesla has introduced a car that can ride lanes by itself and can change lanes at the flip of a button. It even keeps up with traffic.
Any thoughts? The best answers will be consolidated into a single paper. Plus I thought it'd be an ok thread
>>1075224 Only plus side could be if I can park it downtown and it can take me home once I'm shitfaced drunk. That probably won't be possible however as I'm sure there will be laws requiring drivers to be able intervene in case of emergency.
If i'm wrong on that, then there will be a fuck ton of uber/taxi/truck drivers out of work. Mass unemployment is a great thing right?
Who is liable if my autonomous car kills a 5yo girl running into the street? me? the automaker?
What if my robo car... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Can it drive over curbs to make it into that shitty receiving area? Can it break traffic laws? Can it yell at some idiot to move his car? Delivery driving is deeply unrefined and robuts are going to have a hard time of it
Could I sue this company? I have a close family member who is a lawyer. She funded a specific type of event for me a few months ago (she invested, i organized) , without getting too specific this other company was putting together a nearly identical event, very close to the date of mine. Theirs was first so Im not saying they copied me at all. But they told people on social media lies about my event to lure people to going to theirs instead. I've been getting bullied by them ever since and they talked a lot of shit. But I just want to know if I could sue them for this?... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>1075178 If you can prove they harmed you but you're out what, roughly 1K? That's small claims territory. Put it this way, if you told Judge Judy your story and backed it up with printouts of their social media "lies" do you think she would side with you? If she sided with you how much do you think she'd award you? Then decide if it's worth it to go ahead.
Who here has "working knowledge" of SQL? Im interested in learning it because I think its something I would benefit from but I'm curious as to what kind of commitment it would take to get to a working level. Is it something I could get down in a few months or would it take years? What are some good resources to learn (free or cheap preferably)?
here goes. So I decided to try out a business idea. specialty cosmetics in canada aiming at canadians specifically (at least for now but maybe with the exchange rate US makes sense too?). I've now got a small amount of stock and intend to set up a tictail store to see if I can move this stuff. I was thinking to give 4chan ad banners a go but I'm not sure if a) that's the greatest idea and b) which board would be the best bet (thinking /soc/ since the banners might last longer and possibility of females).
I obviously want to specifically target Canadians... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Canada is a different market than the US, so we have different preferences and tastes, you're going to have to research that and see how consumers buy their stuff and why they buy that there
If you don't have much money, i'd definitely try to leverage social media as much as possible (twitter, instagram, facebook, pinterest, Tumblr, etc). Get your friends to test spread through word of mouth. Look at going to where your target market goes like cafes (if your product looks like pic, i'd try bubble tea shops), areas where you think your product would... Comment too long. >>1075134 You can use Google alerts to find new web pages about what your selling, some but not all of them will allow you to comment a link to your website. So you might enter "cosmetics" or "beauty" etc.. and just leave a comment asking to go to your website. Can be tedious but its targeted and free.
>>1075201 looked into amazon at least and man oh man do they take a bite out. a friend's brothers designs websites so he said for about $3000 he'd do it. Seemed the easiest way. Yeah the US exchange rate is not to be ignored. Plus it's over 5x the business in terms of population. I got into this because I had such a hard time buying as a customer I thought I could make a better experience so that'll be my angle. Just dealing with these wholesalers, jesus christ it's such a shit show... glad I'm... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Nah, the markets are 'inspired' by the possible talks of easing production, but the Saudi's have absolutely no intention of easing production until the market is theirs again. I expect it to bottom out at $15-$20. Below that the infrastructure can't work correctly.
It's retarded. Yes a small percentage make some money, but why play such a risky game when you can "set it and forget it" instead of actively fucking around with the stuff to AT BEST earn marginally higher than the market.
This may come off as retarded, but I gotta ask. How do authorities know a pump and dump scheme is happening? Everything that happens in that scam is a completely reasonable follow-through. Brokers push a stock, its their job. The stock inflates. Any person holding shares of a rich stock will then sell them off to make a quick profit. This is all reasonable. The only thing is these fraudsters aren't gambling with the stock market. They know they're gonna make money. But authorities wouldn't know that. How do they catch these guys?
>>1074943 >But authorities wouldn't know that. How do they catch these guys?
Giving illegal financial advice("pumping" a stock without disclosing your holding in it, not being legally allowed to convince people to buy it, etc) and some guy buying HUGE volume of an otherwise dead stock a week before selling it all for an inflated price is sure to alert people.
