He tells everyone he is a broker. I shadowed in a brokerage and saw that their main clients were banks. His clients are random people he calls. He might get one sale per 3 weeks for $600. Yet he takes the piss out of telemarketers What does he do?!
He's a 'broker' who is selling investments through the phone as a telemarketer would, possibly in an illegal boiler room. It's not necessarily shady, as sales is a MASSIVE part of the financial world regardless of your role, but it very well could be, and your friend sounds like he sucks at it either way.
I was a financial advisor for two years. I did a lot of cold calling and door-to-door, and that was my bread and butter, but I also got to actually manage client accounts.
Considering that OPEC can reduce production, US shale firms going bankrupt, and possible increase in demand down the line, is this a good time to invest in oil? Or is this recovery temporary before it goes down again? Thoughts?
Okay guys, what's a good university and business type major to go to that will help me land a job as an economist/business type employment. I'm 27 years old, so I need as much prestige and desirable business major out there. I live in California within an hour distance of LA and San Diego. I tried for computer engineering, but Physics fucked me over. Here's my transcript. Any major that will at least take Calculus II+ so that I can say that I didn't waste a year doing additional Maths.
In what? Every job out there wants a degree and no employer even gives me a call. I had odd end jobs where I worked as a dish washer, but that's about it. I don't want to be 40 and have a minimum wage job.
I've been killing it as of late by networking as opposed to just applying for jobs. In the past week alone, I've made five new connections and I've already secured another informal interview for next week. I'm looking for full-time PR work in a different city from where I currently live, but I feel like I've made a ton of progress towards that in a relatively short period of time.
Just so I can glean on some of you guys who have done stuff like this to get work before: How soon can I expect one of the contacts I've made to turn into a full-time... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
It's been phone calls with higher-ups in my industry and people who own small PR firms. One interview was actually a "drop off my resume" visit that turned into an interview because the guy I talked to had time to kill.
>>1069574 Which leaves him with only $48 billion in Amazon stock. Exactly why are we using absolute numbers when this guy could literally lose 99% of his fortune and still be richer than anyone you've met in your life?
So I filled my gfs taxes and I need to know how fucked I am.
I fudged a few things for my gf's return and ended up using my brother as a dependent who isn't related to her, but I said he was. I also said he made less than 4k when he made 14000. I did all this to get the EIC credit and used an online tax program to e-file. I just need to know if I'm fucked, and if so, how fucked am I? Is there any way to fix this if I am fucked? When I get the money do I leave it alone and try to do an amended return?
>>1069562 Dd your brother file saying he was not being claimed as a dependent?
If so, the automated system will flag it, and they will likely send you a bill and ask for an explanation. Just say that you had been supporting him, and thought you could claim him. If you act dumb enough, they will likely waive the fines.
