How much would you pay for a course that would teach you all about investing for beginners? Assuming you know nothing about investing and it's an 8 week course meeting once a week similar to the learning your city offers as programs at community centers. I'll be teaching financial statement analysis, overall knowledge of investing, macroeconomic effects on investments, some excel, and a bunch of other topics. MY city offers an intro to excel course for $165 for 6 weeks as an idea of comparison. I'm a finance graduate and a CFA level 2 candidate.
>>1067992 I wouldn't pay more than $20 for a course by an unproven nobody. And that's being generous.
However if you pitch it right you could easily dupe people for $100 per. Or more. If you knew about basic economics you'd know how to figure out the right price point. Hint: you already know one key bit of info.
I transferred between one company and another. My old workplace was terrible and my new one will look nice on a resume. They didn't need to take me and I knew it so I low balled my pay but it seemed like they probably wouldn't go for me. So, I offered to let my boss and his boss have me pay for their lunch for the length of my contact there. It ended up working out but it's always a little embarrassing when they drop off receipts at my inbox or my desk or when I write them each checks. They aren't cheap eaters either, and why should they be? I'm happier... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Everyone needs a good bullshit detector. It's as simple as that. Bullshit can come in any form from anybody, and I don't think there are any good "rules" about who not to trust and who to trust by default -- in fact, the only rule might be to trust nobody until they earn it.
>>1067919 Literally nothing. Market shot the fuck up today because the economy did shit, and that made everyone think "the fed will stop raising rates!" The stock market is in such absurd volatility right now, everything went up because of bad news.
I'm not saying you should wait for the volatility to end, I'm saying wait until Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday when the crash kicks back in.
I injured my back and have to have surgery for herniated disc's (two of them). I run a one man snow removal company and now have to subcontract out all of my work.
That's been trouble. Because I can do it for relatively cheap, I've kept my price way down. Also, I have a bit of a corner on the market down my way. All companies I've found charge more for their services and some aren't interested in doing work in my part of town. However, the contract I use says I'll find a replacement if I can't do the work that costs no more than what... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Hello all, I decided to use BTC for this, but anything would work. 17th century tulips would've educated the same, but I feel like this is something you guys are familiar with. http://imgur.com/8fDUJIN Please consult the image- we look at the bubble in stages, and show the full cycle, from $.01 to $.01. The first step is stage A - This is the "pump" . People buy in for pennies, some buy in for more pennies- everyone that buys in here, is smart. 'Smart' people aren't the people that hold bags- the vast majority will exit near the peak-... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
In the old days, stockbrokers would get on the phone and say 'JOHNNY I KNOW YOU LOST A LOT OF MONEY BUT ITS GOING TO $10,000 YOU NEED TO BUY BUY BUY BUY FOR $350' This is the second pump- we create new bag holders. Stage D- A return to zero. The penny stock which was worth $0 not so long ago, now crashes to $0. Everyone sells- other than bag holders. They hold the bag- it's what they do. The people that bought back in at $200 sell their coins for $350-$400- the new top, the bag holders... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Hi /biz/, what do you advice to a guy who's lazy as fuck but wants to make easy money in a legal way? I have no skills, only thing I have is an IQ of 140. How can i use it? Pls help, even long term is fine.
>About to switch from Verizon to a different company
>I ask if I have to pay anything
>chick tells me I don't, and the new company will do it for me
>Turns out new company won't do it, and now Verizon wants me to pay an "early termination fee "
I cancelled my Verizon account and switched to another one on the pretense that there won't be any fee, because they told me the new phone conpany would... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Say that you study for your Masters degree, at the same time working for the company you'd like to work for forever. How do you balance? How do you tell your boss you can't come cause you have to do an exam or whatever?
>>1067700 My friend takes as many classes online as he can. The rest he takes in the evening. He also pays me to take a bunch of his classes and do projects / papers for him because he is pressed for time.
>>1067700 >>1067718 This. If your boss isn't happy that you're furthering your education, and isn't willing to help accommodate your needs, you should probably be looking for a new job.
Honestly, your employer should be paying for your Master's. Personally, I pay for my own because I'm a contract employee, and my hourly pay makes up for not having any benefits. If you're a regular employee but don't get education assistance, your employer sucks.
>Tfw got trolled into probably losing all my money >Buy VFV when CAD is around 0.70 >CAD goes to 0.71 >TSX IS UP AND OIL EXPECTED TO BE UP SOON >Literally bought at the worst time and going to lose a ton of money if it keeps going up
Should I sell now and buy the same ETF but CAD-hedged?

Protip: NEVER listen to your parents, do the opposite of what they suggest
My parents: >"Anon teach us about investing! How do we get started?" Next day >"Anon you know you shouldn't study Finance because there's going to be a huge depression and no one will need Financial analysts or anything, right?" Yeah ok mom.
Im 20 and transfering from community college to a uni soon.
Who would be the best people to befriend that I could subtly buy insider info from? Obviously accountants and auditors are out of the question. I was considering business law or something like that, although they arent as fun as auditors they arent as obvious.
>>1067663 Going to float around $30 until US prez inaugurated, then it will drop in half figuratively overnight, everyone blames new prez, even though they just started presidency and hasn't done anything, world ends up shitting itself and all dominos fall.
But I know nothing, don't take me seriously, I just think it would be great to see the world literally end because of the US
