This isn't new at all, and just because LV is doing yet another collab doesn't mean it's becoming "accepted" by mainstream fashion. LV first did a collab with Murakami (arguably more niche pop culture) like 13 years ago and continued to do so until earlier this year. Because one or two brands' Japanese branch's do this sort of thing every so often does not mean it's becoming widely "accepted." Also why the fuck should cosplayers benefit when you haven't done anything for this? Go be an original creator and then profit.
>>8790355 >Go be an original creator and then profit. That's such a ridiculous thing to tell someone. It's like telling someone to go be a pop star.
I don't think there's any space for j fash in mainstream culture unfortunately. I live in a city that is really accepting of various fashions, for instance, no one bats an eye at the OTT goth kids that roam the streets here. But every job I've had, people are always super weirded out by cosplay and any kind of j-fashion.
Also I want to address anon's concern about Risa because I genuinely like the girl and I haven't seen her irl like this anon >>>8773709 (You) >That's a very old pic. I saw her irl and she's very skinny, her face was looking a little gaunt too. But she's still stunning, her makeup was on point. I follow her since 2011 and it's crazy how her face changed.
So I'm currently in the preliminary design stage of working on a Laser Musket prop from Fallout 4.
I have a general idea of how to make it happen, but there are two questions which I need to answer before I can start making serious progress.
1) The gears linked to the crank handle before the glass ionizing chamber. The rearmost and frontmost wheels rotate in an opposite direction to the central wheel. Would it be wise to use a system of planetary gears (with the frame holding the "planet" gears fixed to the stock while the "sun" and "ring"... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
I haven't seen one of these in a while so I figured it was about time. Anyone need help deciding what to cosplay in 2016? Make 4 suggestions for others before posting your picture, otherwise no one will suggest anything for you!
>>8788492 You know when this dress first came out I never thought too much of it. Then the first re-release happen and I started to see cute coords of it, I considered getting it. Then the next re-release happened and the next one, and the MTO... Now I'm just sick of seeing it. AP please put this dress out to pasture.
So the new year is just around the corner, we might as well talk about 2015 and new years resolutions. >What are your cgl-related new years resolutions? Losing weight? Buying less? More wardrobe staples? >How did your wardrobe change in 2015? >Favourite release in 2015? A litte challenge: create a New Year's coord just with things released in this year.
>>8788394 As a new years resolution I want to make my lifestyle more lolita. I never talk about this with any of my lolita friends because I don't want to seem weird/tryhard/snowflakey, but I would really like to be able to consider myself a lifestyler. To me it's a self improvement thing, if that makes any sense.
I really want this to be a massive lolita year. I want to refill my closet with amazing dresses, I want to take more photos of improved old outfits, new outfits, different variations. I finally want to take part in a teaparty outside of my hometown. We have our first big TP in my hometown and I need a kickass outfit for that. I want to make more hats for myself and other accessories.
>>8788394 I would like to get back down to 120 pounds, I'm at 135 now and the difference is huge. I need to stop buying so much lolita stuff until I can get a better storage area set up. I should also actually wear my stuff. I love buying it but I have never worn at least 2/3rds of my wardrobe.
I suppose my wardrobe changed mostly just in size, storage has become quite an issue. I got rid of most of my sweet stuff even though a lot of it was boderline, wish I could stick to just one style but I love them all.

Hey /cgl/, I have an idea for a costume I'd like to make an attempt on, but it involves a digital display on the front facing portion of the mask/helmet. Does anyone have any experience or tips on how one would go about doing so? I haven't found much in the way of kits that weren't for daft punk helmets.
tl;dr I want to be able to display pictures on a mask and don't know how.
could we get a con advice thread up in here? a lot of the articles basically say the same thing but it'd be good to get life-hack-style tips from people who are regular attendees. the sorta stuff that nobody tells you about (e.g. the gaylord hotel for katsu has no microwaves).
