hello /cgl/, I've never cosplayed before, but I want to, so im trying to work out the specifics of my first costume It's nothing too complex, outside of one specific piece. I want to cosplay as the Hacker from System Shock, pic related. The thing is though, He has a neural cyberspace interface. It's seen more clearly at around 12 seconds in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQFpU44nk_c In layman's terms, He has a plug on the side of his head that allows him to connect his brain to cyberspace. I checked the guides in the sticky,... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>9109447 That print goes usually for about $320-$450 depending on its cut. You do have to be more specific with what you are looking for though because Jane marble can be cheap and expensive second hand. Just like with all brands.
Wow, this tiny thing got a thread? I saw them advertising at U-Con at UConn, but I don't really care about the guests. Decided to go to PopCult Anime Con up in MA instead that weekend to chill and take cosplay pics.
>>9108930 Yeah, I'm sure it will be bigger, but it's more corporate, so that makes sense. It's been a while since I've gone to a small con, so I'm feeling it. The hotel that PCAC is at is really pretty. I'd rather chill with friends for the weekend and get nice photos taken than go to the casino. To each their own. I'd be interested in seeing how Terrificon goes and maybe consider going next year. sage for not actually contributing anything.
>>9103469 I'm minorly ticked off that a Baby staffperson says "Americans don't have a good eye for cute things" and other shit, meanwhile Chinese girls get vaguely insulted and Baby drops everything to cater to them.
When I first found out about j-fashion I was 12-13. I knew about lolita at the time but didnt really like it. I was super in love with decora however. At the time lolita was still very oldschool and I didnt have a mature enough taste to enjoy it. But when I rediscovered lolita years later, OTT era had happened and I fell in love. I now appreciate and enjoy oldschool though
I've seen a lot of people making whip chokers and I was wondering the best way to do this? Do they pipe directly onto the choker or pipe onto something else, peel it off when dry and then glue it onto the choker? And I'm guessing they use a fabric type choker and the silicone stays well?
>>9092348 Amiibos seem like they'd be way too bulky, but maybe that's just me. I'm not a fan of deco that's thrice the thickness of the object being deco'd. Amiibos can get kinda heavy too, the AC ones are pretty thick.

>post ad in Cosplay Commissioners group on Facebook for swimming fabric Ariel tail >a few people comment, but one of them has a really nice portfolio >asks for a quote >she asks for measurements and sends links to different fabrics that would work >after I pick one, she quotes me $110 plus shipping >seems pretty reasonable so... Wonderful contacts but one came with a defect. (Got refunded from the store, but I didn't notice the defect until I opened them)
I wanted to buy from honeycolor for their 1+1 promotion has one gotten their defects (if they've received them) refunded after opening them since most places refuse to refund if they are opened? I've searched up honeycolor but anything with defects comes back when they accepted paypal and now they don't i'm worried if I get a defect my money would be lost.

Starting to do a cosplay of Cloud and starting with the hair. Wondering if this wig in particular is good enough. Just asking since 194 was sold so maybe someone on here bought it. It says it's not styled but could it actually become as good as pic related? I'm sure the pic is used without permission and the cosplayer isn't using a wig from the seller but just in case I'm curious. If not does anyone know how to get started on making Clouds hair in general and how to avoid making it not look like crap like some are when looking on google images?
>>9106703 Is this from taobao? I bought a wig to do virus from dmmd off taobao and i have to say it turned out pretty good considering i had 0 wig styling experience before. Its probably fine to start with, since at least with the wig i bought it was wefted in such a way it stood up quite a bit on its own without product.

So guys this is the story: I'm a fresh larp player, the rulelebook of my association seems written by a chimp, it lack realiability and have a lot of functional bugs and we want to change it. So i came here to ask if you can link me the rulebook you use (high magic medieval fantasy).
Why does everyone blame tumblr for everything bad in the world of lolita and cosplay? Both communities were filled to the brim with extremist SJWs, tryhard edgy kids, and trends that necessitate bleach to the eyes before tumblr even existed. Is it because people these days are too new to be aware of what the pre-tumblr days were like in these groups?
Try-hards edgelords, new peeps, and in general keep this fashion crazy and exciting. Always need fresh neophyte blood to indoctrinate. The problem with tumblr though is all the freaks reposting / adding shitty captions to lolita fashion images.
>>9102395 There are a lot of newbies on here lately. They're always dropping in to jump on a meme bandwagon, but more so now that they have even more free time. Lots of people either don't remember the sjw on LJ or they didn't actually experience LJ. I know I did and I know that all those neoliberal types just transferred to tumblr after LJ lost its charm and activity. Everyone is bitching about the same group of people that grew because they managed to influence a new generation.
I also went from LJ... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Maybe this was totally obvious to everyone else but I've been hauling out my regular sized vacuum to clean up during sanding/mess making and even running it at 1am in my apartment. I was at Wally World the other day and grabbed this tiny, rechargeable hand vac for $15. It's changed my life. Now I can leave my heavy vacuum in the closet and I don't have to worry about ruining it with foam dust and hot glue clumps. Even better I can clean up all day instead of letting the dirt pile up.
Does anyone else have some cosplay "life hacks", or tools that... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
