Are you going spoopy with your coords?
>What is it?
pic related, direct from magazine
>Where can I buy it?
>wait, it isn't a consistent style, I don't get it
It's more about the feeling from the outfit than the actual clothing. Hair is important too.
Small Halloween dump
AMO and Risa before Larme was even a thing.
Right could be considered Larme
I will repost this here since last thread was abandoned.
Do you think it would be acceptable to use fluffy jumpers with bunnies on them in larme? I bought two recently - a white one with two gray bunnies (with the backs of the bunnies on the back as well as pom poms for their tails) and a pink one with a very big head of a bunny in the middle. Combining pastels with fluff and bunnies I thought it would work great with larme but then I realised that most knits in larme tend to be more discrete (in terms of graphics) and usually just use tshirts with a but of writing at most. What do I do, how do I work them?
Rosemarie/Syrup costume one piece.
Also, I'm thinking of making a brands list with google spreadsheets like the taobao thread lists. What information would you want included? Right now I'm thinking official site, blog, twitter and instagram links, does the brand offer international shipping, and a section for reviews (which will probably remain blank for the most part unless we start getting some English reviews). Anything else that would be useful? I would also include crossover brands in another section (like himekaji brands that have Larme pieces).
I was also thinking of making an FAQ but I know I'm going to get tripped up on the whole "what is Larme?" question. It's been expanded on many times in these threads but people still don't seem to get it and I don't know how to further explain it.
OP here, If you want, we could make it together? I have a few issues too so we could add all the brands listed in the magazine and write a good explanation for it.
That would be great!
I think once I get the format together I'll open it up for anyone to edit. If it gets abused though I'll close it down to a few editors. I'll try and work on it tomorrow after work.
And explanations might be good. Maybe a couple sentences on common themes for each brand?
Brain fart, you must have meant explanation for Larme kei. That would be much appreciated. But I do still think a few sentences for each brand would be helpful as well. I'll see what I can come up with.
I seriously want to find stuff like this that would actually fit me. I actually don't know where you order stuff like this. I know some of the larme brands like swan kiss, or whatever but there hasn't really been a guide on cgl as to how to order things from Japan, only China from taobao.
I seriously love Larme but I don't understand where or how to get the cloths and if they will fit because woop woop pullover my ass too fat.
Oops, I'm stupid.
No, it's not hard to google, but receiving the information from someone who understands it properly and has experience is much easier than wading through tons of inaccurate and confusing information. Plus it actually contributes to the thread and overall discussion, and eventually when people order things, they'll contribute further. Completely unlike calling people stupid and telling them to google things, which contributes nothing.
Ok, here's what I've done with the brands list so far. I'm sorry that there's not much yet, I was mostly working on formatting and on what sections to include. If you have any suggestions on what you would like to know about each brand, let me know or put it under suggestions.
If anyone wants to help tackle the FAQ, let me know. "email@example.com" I've already added you as an editor. I intend to include at some point an explanation of Larme kei (probably a combination of various explanations from Larme threads past), mirrors of the k.i. video, maybe some other little Larme videos I've found in my searches, some of the general larme tumblrs or blogs (definitely yours, larme-kei.tumblr), maybe the partial scans list (I will never post full scans so please don't ask). Anything else anyone would want to know or have all in one place?
For now the brands lists are open for editing. If it's abused I will turn full editing off. I really don't want to have to do that though, I think it's better if we all contribute.
I also broke them into two categories, Larme brands and borderline brands. I'm not sure if this is the best terminology, but I wanted to make the distinction so that newbies don't, say, go buying up a ton of Liz Lisa thinking it will work for Larme when only some of their catalog is appropriate. Do you guys want it a different way?
Would anyone be interested in a models tab? For all their social media accounts?
Any other suggestions would be appreciated as well.
(If someone wants to help make this pretty but still functional, let me know. I'm not too good with this stuff yet.)
That would be awesome! hmm, that isn't really so much of a "review" though. I'll add a comments section for each brand for that sort of stuff. If it gets too unwieldy with comments we can have separate sheets for the most popular brands (like if people want to discuss quality in detail or how to order from them, but I don't think we're near that point yet)
List maker here again, a skype group might work well. I don't use skype much so I'm not really familiar with how it much. I assume you're mostly talking about using the im features?
List maker anon here. Are you interested in making changes to the sheet outside of the brands list? (like to the FAQ and such)
email me your google id. This is the throwaway account I'm using to host the spreadsheet + the google drive mirror link to the k.i. video.
A models/blogs tab would be a good idea.
As for borderline brands, what about Western brands which share a similar aesthetic? Especially when it comes to things like accessories, shoes etc.
Added to the list.
Feel free to change things around. I'm not sure if it will let you guys add sheets, but you can edit the ones already there and if you want more sheets I can add some later.
If anyone else is seriously interested in editing let me know. Adding my email in here again. Otherwise everyone can continue to edit the brand pages.
I'll add in video links to the FAQ later. At least so we have something for people to look at.
Just a question, how would you call one of these things you find in magazines? Coordination compilation? Planning? Coordination Remix?
I am asking since I started a tumblr with them and I am calling them spreadsheets, but I feel like that is kinda retarded.
>any other suggestions
I am wondering if there is a way of preventing newfags from assuming that larme is swankiss-inspired fairy kei, like some people already do on tumblr.
How can we emphasize the relative simplicity of larme when compared to other fashion styles but without making it look like pastel normcore?
We can address that in the FAQ but I think it will be hard to "prevent" newbies from assuming that. If that's what grabs people's attention that it is what it is. It's like cult party kei and peignoirs over everything. Pretty much every jfashion falls pray to it.
Maybe linking them to the k.i. Video would be best, since it emphasizes more of Risa Nakamura's style.
What accessories would you consider as must haves for larme? Pom pom earrings not included.
I had a look at it and it's a super good idea now that I think about it. I never realised why I have such limited outfits until now and looking at those images I kinda realise I only own dresses and cardigans so I can't mix them a lot lol.
Maybe personalise your images, just putting a random page is kinda cheating.
But please keep at it, it is super useful!
First of all - thanks to the anons for making such helpful spreadsheets and always giving advice!
I'm thinking about making an order from DreamV/Mon Lily, since it's pretty cheap and the quality of their products is pretty good.
What do you anons think of the items I picked out? Is it a good starting point? Are there any other basic items I should grab? (I know the plaid dress probably isn't Larme - but it's cute as fuck anyways.)
I already have a bunch of ankle socks (some with patterns and stuff), velvet chokers, and I'm going to make my own heart cut out skirt and fluffy shoes/earrings. I otherwise really suck with accessories, though. Maybe some tulle hair bows and pearl bracelets? A few berets?
Cute way of incorporating fluffiness this winter
For the anon requesting winter larme with pants, this is pretty damn cute. I honestly didn't think it could be done.
She needs a knit sweater though.
You might have to use your imagination a little, winter anon. Japanese girls are willing to brave the cold for fashion so they don't really dress for the weather.
I don't get why people ask for pants in the cold, not feeling the cold is all about having as many layers as possible, which is much, much easier in a skirt, compare:
>Skin tone tights
>Safety shorts/thermal shorts
You can double up on the tights and socks as well.
It's extremely uncomfortable and wont actually fit in most cases. They definitely wouldn't fit under the only example of trousers being worn in larme in this thread, not without bulging and riding up.
Anyway, the point was that everyone just assumes trousers are warmer because they're trousers. If all the people wanting to wear trousers are going to layer up to that extent anyway, why not just wear a skirt and look better?
Jillian's latest larme with a swankiss dress.
Her hair is still dreadful but after kate the outfit isn't that bad.
Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask, but what would you search on ebay/aliexpress to get stuff like this?
And do you think it would look fine on not skinny people? im not exactly fat but I have chubby lil legs but an ok waist, im worried it would end up looking frumpy. Thanks!
Typing in brand names usually works on Aliexpress, so like Liz Lisa, Katie etc.
Ebay you would probably have to be a bit more specific to the item you are trying to find and just use the filters to narrow it down.
Unless you're wearing flannel lined pants then don't talk to me. Please bitches be going around here in regular jeans in those temps and they think I'm the cold one in my wool tights.
I'm from the US, anon, but I've ordered from them before. Back in like... 2008? 2010? When I ordered from them, I did get hit with customs fees. Like, $20 I think? But I've ordered from them multiple times since and haven't had a problem. Obviously ymmv since UK customs are completely different, but yeah...
I updated my list a little, but I'm thinking that I'm just going to pick up these pieces when I'm in Japan. I'm staying near Ikebukuro and there's a Mon Lily there, apparently. I just feel gross about paying fucking $80 for shipping.
Yup. It's still a work in progress. I'm the creator and I haven't had much time to work on it since last weekend. I'll try to add more when I can but I don't have much computer access right now.
Yeah we were questioning both of those. We moved one spo to the Larme list for now since they seem to be going more that way from their most recent stuff, but their other seasons have definitely been more borderline. I'll look into it more.
Other than cherries, flowers and pom pons what i have to choose as hair accessories and jewellry for larme? I'm a total noob about the style, i have already at home items that would be larme-able (fuzzy antique pink cardigan, pink and frilly turtleneck, lace fabric blouse with a collar in off white, cherry hairclips) but of couse that is not a larme wardrobe yet. I want a capsule larme wardrobe.
Hair bows, hairbands, berets, ribbons, etc.
I found simple tiny bow elastics in paste/red colors at Aliexpress, small pompom elastics too. I would like flowers or shells but they are too summer-y. Heart accessories are ok?I don't use any hat or beret usually. My hair are also similar to the girl in pic (but shorter), my choices are a bit limited in hair styling i admit.
Tights are allowed into larme looks?Usually i see simple knee, otk or ankle socks.
Well it is to be used mostly by me as a tool to shop around and not to get distracted. It is based on what is popular right now, so it probably won't be relevant at all in 2 years, but it could be useful in terms of basics and keep updating with some trendy pieces?
Oh I am not including exact pieces to purchase, just an idea, more of a larme kei inspiration board, really.
Okay here it is.
I made a list of pieces along with some vague images, and my plan is to get all the pieces in my basics, as well as some accent colours.
I left out sweaters since that is a bit basic and I am kinda covered with turtlenecks.
I can't stand them so I left them out, even though I can tell at one point I will give in and buy a pair of shoes with them.
I kind of feel like I left out headbands but just how important are they?
Nice, concise and easy to digest, thanks anon.
I think it works for an exaggerated, stylised look, in print at least. I think it would be a bit awkward in person however.
That said, I think it's refreshing to see fuller lips on Japanese models, it's actually quite unconventional and somewhat 'out there' by regular Japanese beauty standards.
Did Risa not used to have more of a gyaru style or did I imagine it?
(pic related) Risa has had a lot of styles. She models for a wide range of looks so her style changes a lot.
that makes sense but didn't the gyaru thing also reflect her personal style? Not a criticism, I just find it interesting.
I also can't help but think that a lot of larme, aside from the make-up perhaps, looks a lot like western feminine hipster type fashion. I feel like people would have a fit if you called larme 'Japanese hipster' though.
I'll post some larme coords with dark clothes. I'm sorry if some are already posted, I have terrible memory.
Some are only the items and not quite coords, sorry about that.
I love darker colours in larme, i've been trying to put together some autumn-friendly outfits out of stuff I already own/am planning to get (I might just be completely off the mark though)
any feedback gulls? really undecided about the bag
I like it, not a fan of the shoes in this though, I know larme looks use chunky shoes but with the laces, I don't think they're feminine looking enough - as it stands they make the whole ensemble look more grungy.
Dress and chunky boots alone are very kinderwhore, a la courtney love
The dress itself looks quite 1960s, or even otome.
I mean I'm sure it could work for larme, I have a hard time discerning the style, but if I just look at the outfit aesthetically right now it doesn't look good. That pin looks cheap and doesn't really go, plus the socks are rather plain. Maybe ruffly ones/ ones with more texture could be nicer? Not a fan of the notes bag either. Sorry I'm not very helpful...
Yeah the dress is really nice, I really like it (where's it from?), it's just my personal style would lean more towards retro 60s or otome so I'm not sure how to make it 'larme' when I'm confused about the definition as is.
I'll have another go, guess I can't rely on normalfag shops for shoes
Yeah I get you, when it's based more on a 'feel' than a specific silhouette you can't really tick a number of boxes and go yeah this is larme. For what it's worth most western coords I've seen seem to have a much smaller variety of colours/cuts than ie. what you see in the magazine
Item: 381398052478 on ebay, just paste it into the search bar and it should come up.
If you switch it for a cropped sweater and you throw a coat on top, it could work just fine for winter.
Do you gulls think this dress fits under the Larme aesthetic? I was considering it for a winter coord but I'm not sure.
I can't find any picture examples of very short hair but I have seen quite short, above the chin bobs appear in larme here and there. In my opinion, it might me good to take inspiration from feminine icons such as Audrey Hepburn as I really think aspects of her style could lend itself well to larme.
Bow hair bands and small bow side clips look really great with pixies too, as well as all sorts of hats and berets.
you just kind of have to think of the general keywords and hope to find things under that "chiffon" "tulle" "a-line" etc. Use those and then you'll have to do quite a bit of digging. Might be easier on taobao to find specific shops dedicated to it, but right now it's just going to be a hunt
Where i can find bags like this for cheap?I saw a Monlily one but the pink color was sold out, taobao replicas... not sure about quality.
you could maake one quite easily if you can sew, find an old cushion/pillow in a thrift shop and put straps on it
if you want the embroidery you could get a plain one and diy or get some patches
I want to make a tumblr posting inspirations/links (esp to aliexpress/taobao along with 'official' brands)
Here's an example, do I have the general feel down right? I'd hate to add to the pile of garbage on tumblr/insta.
was debating between this top and the original one. I just wanted to go with a chunky soft sweater since the skirt was short
it looks different in other colors, but i grabbed the picture with no bg.
im super tall so i try to find the shops that list the length of the skirt
at the bottom it has a size chart and shows you the length.
>Free Size -Waist-66CM-90CM/26.0"-35.4" Hips-110CM/43.3" Length- 70CM/27.6".
this way you have a sure bet. but since you're short the length should be fairly accurate to you since asian sizes run smaller, and they are generally shorter
Well i would like to spend like 30 $ maybe a bit more not 100$.
Eh, if i would sew that is a good alternative.
That is a good idea anon!I buy often from AE, but finding larme-able items is a challenge.
I checked their shop, no heart pillow bags anymore. I found some cute bags like the bunny furry backpack or bright colored bags not for Larme.
Update from frilly heart bag anon: i found a bag on Yumetenbo it's in the Dear my love department!
Anyone has experience with yumetenbo bags? I only bought a coat and a cutsew i had to sell them (bad quality fabric) but how are their bags??
If anyone want this bag there is in black, pink and white.
Not from Halloween (It's from the Usagi party) but still cute.
Any aliexpress, ebay or taobao links for heart cut out tops like this would be greatly appreciated. Try as I might I just can't find any except for on storenvy, who must be buying it from somewhere.
this is all i could find but it's really cute
I don't think there are, unless you get lucky and find something Larme-able on Closet Child or something.
Honestly though, the best thing you can do is go to the thrift store and find some items in your size to customize, if you're going the secondhand route. Buy a skirt and cut out some hearts in the bottom, add some ribbon to the collar of a shirt, buy an old ruffley pillow and make it into a bag... Hell, this shirt from Mon Lily (pic related) would be so easy to replicate if you got a lace shirt for a few bucks and added a pom-pom and neck detail!
I'm not the most DIY inclined, but even I could probably throw together this stuff with a few minutes spare time. Probably your best bet!
Most people resell Larme brands on mercari or fril.jp. Very rarely do I see them come up on yahoo auctions or mbok. It's hard to find ss will use owe sites but they do exist. I know of kairai and the wife of the guy who runs no country for tall men will do it.
I think natural-looking wigs are ok, so long as they don't look completely off. But no wig is definitely preferred.
Ahhh that wig is so nice, it's exactly what I meant by really good! I'm referencing mainly that girl in the baby don't cry thread who tried larme with the obvious blonde cosplay wig. It just looks really synthetic and jarring.
Even Kate's wig isn't /that/ bad in comparison
This was the closest i could find
Dude, I agree no wigs or really fucking natural ones, but let's keep in mind it's a slippery slope until we're as rigid as those lolitas arguing about plain tights being too plain for their printed dresses or vice versa.
thats why i said natural looking wigs should be alright. like if you normally sport a mohawk you probably should put a wig on.
there's just a lot of people like who are wearing wigs that look really really bad and really really fake. their coords are a different story, but they would all probably fit the style slightly more if they werent wearing awful wigs.
Might not be exactly Larme, but I thought it worked well enough with the Larme styled Halloween costumes.
Too much skin to be larme , I think, the balance is off. Her legs, arm, and chest are showing. Even if she's a honey cinnamon model that doesn't mean everything she wears is larme...
Dream-holic probably has the closest things to larme appropriate wigs here
>If I had posted this with no commentary you wouldn't have said a thing.
This. I hate when people just want to argue because they think they know more about ~*nippon fashion*~ than others.
I've been getting into Larme kei lately and I had already been looking into changing up the decor in my room so I was hoping to do something that would fit with Larme. So something not too cutesy and a little melancholic. Anyone have any ideas on how to achieve that? I'm thinking of having a dusty pastels color palette mixed with black or grays.
If any of you are looking for shoes, Dolls Kill has a shit ton of Larme-able footwear.
This is a reupload, I don't know why that user stole it. It has come up in threads before. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vBhUFPZFYSA
>LARME is intended for girls from 18 to 25 (interviewer says she's 26 and asks if she can still wear it, editor says yes)
>she made it because she likes the atmosphere of photobooks and picture books and there wasn't a magazine that really focused on that aesthetic at the time
>says "larme" means tears in French and she named the magazine this way because she wanted to create something that could take girls away from their troubles and cheer them up in times of sadness
>wants LARME to be read by girls with a desire to change themselves and become cuter
She also notes that the motifs change from issue to issue and are largely dictated by whatever her interests are at the moment, which I think is good to dissuade the mentality of "you have to use pompoms/shells/etc." It's definitely about capturing the right mood above all else.
My Japanese is shit but she does say it takes some inspiration from the 1997 Lolita film with its use of cherry prints etc right?
I think it might be uncomfortable to hear but the 'coquettishly cute' image that Larme seems to focus on certainly seems to have a bit of the 'other' lolita thing about it, and this kinda just confirms it to me.
I'm not suggesting that Larme wants us to swan about pretending to be under-age nymphets but let's not try to pretend these elements aren't there.
I guess this just amuses me as the amount of hate and derision western 'nymphet fashion' gets on places like tumblr is immense.
She said that specific issue was inspired by the Lolita film. In the Kawaii International feature, she talked about how her readers don't tend to like things that are too perfectly happy, so she aims for an aesthetic that's sweet, romantic and girly but has a tinge of darkness or melancholia to it (and Risa Nakamura said the same thing about liking cute but not childish fashion with a poisonous taste). The feel of the "other" Lolita fits that approach exactly, I think; lots of people love the aesthetic of the fashion in that film but it's ultimately not a very happy story.
Thank you anon, your explanation makes a lot of sense. I still wonder how many lolitas that get into this fashion though, will try to turn themselves inside out trying to unnecessary justify a fashion that has had its 'other' lolita influences actually spelled out in its media on a number of occasions.
No problem. I think lolitas can be weird about this stuff because they always have to fight against the misconception of their style as something that's sexually deviant in nature, but yeah, it can get annoying. Larme admits to being a pretty coquettish style, so I feel like they shouldn't bother getting into it if that makes them uncomfortable.
Re: the Lolita-inspired feature in the magazine, they describe her as "mischievous, willful and alluring" so I think they were playing up to that kind of romanticized image of the character.
Hey, is this an alright outfit for larme? concrit is welcome!
black heart buttons down the front the cardigan thing would look really good I think, plus maybe slightly more delicate or sheer looking ankle socks - hard to tell but tbh they look a bit cheap / childish in the photo.
Dumb question but when is the next larme out, would it be some time in January? Does anyone know roughly what date in the month the releases are too?
I think the skirt design is from a private boutique called Very Brain in Osaka, and the skirt in particular may be by Very Brain × CANNABIS LADIES (hmm yeah, I know). Cannabis ladies have a store in Harajuku. From what I can tell, the skirt sold out pretty quick and you had to make reservations for it.
The theme of the stores seems to be girly and sensual/coquettish, with sometimes light kink, pin-up or bondage stylings and themes. You can buy Alberto Vargas pin-up merchandise there too for instance.
I like the fact that larme doesn’t shy away from sensuality and embraces adult themes, if only in a rather playful and quite classy way. It's certainly refreshing compared to the 'pure maiden' type image of more childish fashions that are still worn by older teens and younger grown women.
I you want to see more of the 'girlish sensual/sexy' side to the style I recommend checking out the instagram of larme model Monaca Nishi (pic related).
I'm new to larme kei and I have a question of sorts
my natural hair is basically a small Afro because I'm black, but I recently dyed it red. but just learned about larme kei the other day, would it still be larme kei if I wore a wig (I have lock shops sweetheart wig in black since I'm also a lolita) and recreated the aesthetic but with just dark colors because my normie clothes could easily be adjusted to that type of style, but it would have more gothic motifs.
would that be lingering into a different style, or would it be fine even when I do my makeup the same way?
(sorry it's a long post, didn't realize that)
Well I think you should do whatever you want since larme isn't a fixed style and more of an aesthetic with some overlapping themes. However, if you're really set on capturing current larme looks, I would suggest a very natural looking wig (not the typical lolita or cosplay looking kind) in a dark brown colour. The sweetheart wig you mentioned is decent but it still ultimately looks like a wig in my opinion.
Something like pic related could work well I think, plus they can be trimmed and styled with heat if needed. Also if you wanted to work with a more afro look, I think afro puff type styles could be really fitting to larme, I'd love to see it actually.
my hair is way too short to do something this cute, I am currently growing it out now, so this would be great for when it's longer! I would probably do a very dark brown, because it would clash with my skin tone to do a lighter brown.
>photo relevant to my skin tone and hair color
Hey anon, you can get afro puff hair pieces if you want to try out that look >>8689815 top left in this picture are actually round 'afro puff ball' hair pieces. Also >>8689814 bottom wig comes in dark brown and black, I just couldn't find the relevant stock photo in a darker shade.
You can find the wig on ebay using the search 'New Women Fashion Heat Resistant Short Curly Hair' - the seller is 'chao0307zhili'. Pic related also comes in dark brown and black.
That's a really cute hair color btw, although I agree maybe not quite larme.
man i have such a personal issue with these shirts. i dont want to see someones tits, regardless of if its their actual ones or ones printed on there. something very gauche about it.
Here's a thought; somebody in this thread or another couldnt see the correlation between cult party kei and Larme styles (I think we should be using plural for obvious reasons). Larme magazine pretty much arose in 2013 during the time when cute cult pary styles via the Virgin Mary and Keisuke Kanda where prevalent in Japanese street fashion. It's a known fact that Larme is a style book that riffs off of the vibes (if you will) of what's big in sweet and girly on the streets at the time. I see so many cult party elements in Larme; anyone else? I have been tumblring/wearing Larme style for 2 years now along with cult party in harmony. Cult party is alot more textured, layered, antique doll, and so forth but the basics that style set down (lace, vintage, ballerina aesthetics, dolls, sweet girly with an edge) are definitely present in Larme in many ways.
saramari made this post today. What do you guys think? I don't really love the swankiss style myself and think it's way over the top most of the time, but it's still been featured in Larme. Kokokim and Miauler Mew not so much. I think Larme in general is moving away from Swankiss, so maybe it won't be considered a Larme brand for much longer.
I'd agree with the feel of the pictures and on the right being off for Larme kei; the middle two are just straight up not Larme, the top picture goes against the magazine itself which guideline has a statement against bright coloured hair "in lieu of calmer colours) so I see what she's going for here. the bottom picture on the right is the most Larme out of the right hand bunch but if you compare it to the actual Larme pictures on the left you can see it lacks. I'd have liked for her to go into a bit more detail. Swankiss is definitely a Larme featured brand but is her post saying those pastelly kawaii fluffy fairy/mahou kei type looks aren't very Larme? not necessarily that Swankiss isn't Larme? If so I would agree. Swankiss have featured more Larme-centric clothing and outfits in their Line (pic related) than the ones that seem most popular with Tumblr though so that bears thinking about.
Yeah, I think that makes a lot of sense. Here's some Risa in swankiss from Larme 009. Much more toned down than swankiss staff photos. I'm not sure what I would call their "usual" styling.
Do you gulls think that there is a certain body type to suit this fashion. I'm very interested in adding additional some larme like elements in my style, mainly midi skirts and turtlenecks but I don't want to jump in it if I'm working against myself.
I think the bottom two outfits/clothing items could look larme but they haven't been styled in a larme way - they're too much going on, too many hair sccesories, too much bright color in places etc. I actually think sara was spot on, to the point of giving examples that are similar but not the same. I'm not expert of course but I own a few copies of larme now as well as a whole bunch of scans etc and I'd like to think I now have a better sense of the look.
I especially love the slightly darker lame looks that have hints of gothic, as well as the black and off white/cream or pastels color blocking looks.
I don't think there is a certain body type, because there isn't a specific silhouette. Just stick to general fashion guidelines, for example I wouldn't recommend turtlenecks if you have big boobs or midi skirts if you are particularly short and have stubby calves.
so i started the blog with a couple of collages, going to redo this original post, cause i still like that outfit a lot. http://lachrymose-mode.tumblr.com/
the blog is pretty plain but i think it works with the larme style. is the collage thing a good idea? I mean i can link individual items, but that just seems more of like a shopping blog rather than an inspiration blog. anyway any feedback will be taken in, thanks
Apparently some people think there's only a certain body type that fits Larme though. Saramari got this ask recently. I think it's the same bitch going around lolcow saying that Sara Mari's "face nor body suit Larme."
Fuck if Sara Mari doesn't suit Larme then I guess the rest of us Westerners are out of luck.
Whilst I agree Saramari can pull of larme extremely well, you have to admit her face is abnormally long and horsey. I don't think there's any denying she'd look better if her face were shaped a little differently. Not that I'm saying she should change styles or anything like that, but 'cmon. She gets away with it based on her skill at coordinating, if she were bad at it everyone would be ripping into her face as well.
