So most of us have dream dresses but some designs out there are ugly, tacky and absolutely despicable. Show me those dresses which really make you want to puke all over them.
I hate the top of this one so much. It's just so ugly.
It's like Innocent World made a knockoff taobao version of itself. The print looks so cheap, flat, and low-budget. Will never understand why people like this dress.
Agree so much. I have so many IW prints I absolutely loathe, mostly the city prints. They're just so flat and ugly...
I also hate the dollhouse print with a passion.
This is Milanoo tier. Seriously, imagine it with less poof and you have it.
AatP Joker's Trump Party.
The other colourways of this are gorgeous, but for some reason they decided to release this garish monstrosity.
I saw this dress in other colorways look half decent on a magazine or something... But it still looks like square dancing and it's awful and I hate it.
God, does anyone have a grandma that had clown dolls/figures/cake toppers (??) in her house in the 90s? The texture of those ribbons reminds me EXACTLY of those and I can't even put my finger on what they used to look like.
This dress is so stupid and screams efame whore to me. But the pink and wine are somewhat tolerable.
I can admire nicely made dresses but I find this tacky. Also JetJ's painting dresses. They don't look lolita to me, just painted printed onto a skirt with a basic bodice. Worst offender for me was the Bosch dress because I love Bosch and I hated the placement of the image and how the seams didn't even try to line up in some way.
So... This just happened.
I think it's funny how much this lace is hated. I don't remember where I know this sort of design from. Moitie or VM?
Hey, maybe that means I'll get it for cheap but I'm sure there's gonna be plenty of demand anyway regardless of what /cgl/ thinks.
I think there's so much hate for it because of all the terrible dresses and terrible babbys first lolita crafts that exist with shitty rashel lace. Frankly, the higher quality stuff can be nicer, but it's not my personal preference.
The color palette for this series is absolutely atrocious, and yet.... somehow, I still kind of want it.
>tfw I love all of meta's crazy prints
>even the leopard prints look cute to me
Even though we always joke about Meta, you gotta admit that they are still pretty original when it comes to prints and not following trends much.
This print. I'm a poorfag, so I'm usually all about lucky pack dresses, but I hate this one. It just looks off to me.
The blue version looks particularly garish in non stock photos. I couldn't pick which cut is the worst but the star buttons look particularly bad on this. It has wings in the back, why. If it matched the theme it could be cute, but nope.
This print looks so cheap compared to Imai Kira's usual work.
This could have been cute, but why crosses? Looks stupid and out of place.
Ok but the black print is gorgeous. The other colors are questionable or downright bad (dat hot pink) but the black looks so classy and sparkly. Also what the fuck is with the low-waist cut.
But anyway, I feel like it's possible just to dislike most of APs prints if they're not your style. None of those are nightmare dresses, you just don't like them.
Menuet Boquet? That's a nightmare dress.
I also love Meta for the same reasons.
I've always seen them as the Sega Dreamcast of the lolita brands. Weird and experimental, and a little out of touch and overboard sometimes, which can cause either a spectacular failure or a cult following, or both. I think that's why I love them.
This coord made me change my mind about that dress.
There's always going to be someone who hates any given dress. Also, note how those are mostly popular dresses. When people see things they already don't like everywhere, it's going to male them feel the need to point out their distaste for it more.
I can only handle the skirt from this set, since any more print is a little much for my eyes. That said, I wish whoever's been looking at non-pastel (or is it the crosses that are setting them off?) AP prints and going ~EDGEWORTH DESU~ would relax. Aside from being busy, this print isn't even out there.
I hate this print sooo much. I think it looks cheap and fugly, like some shit you'd find on etsy that's made out of a child's bed sheet.
I can deal with the darker colorway a little bit better.. but pretty much all of fortune tarot is not my cup of tea.
>but I like this dress :^)
No one cares, you are being inane. Please stop. That's not what this thread is about. You liking it doesn't invalidate the fact that it's someone's nightmare dress.
I saw this dress on my feed and I can't find it anywhere. Anyone have the deats on this dress? I want it so bad!
The blue can look cool with black, though. A bit more mature than the pastel colors.
I know 100% what you mean. I was asking because I can never remember what it's called and I want everything from the series so bad.
This reminds me of those Disney princess dress up costumes little girls get. Like you know the ones where there is a charm of the princess the costume is of somewhere near the neck line... I hated those damn things growing up why would Bell have a picture of herself on her ball gown?
I must be older than you because the ones i had didn't ever have the little charm. They were also a lot plainer and cheaper material than the ones I see being sold at the Disney Store now though. Even the basic ones are so fancy now!
This is one of the ugliest god damn dresses I have ever had the misfortune of laying eyes on.
I can see this being cute when worn, but somehow it just looks off to me when it's laid out like this. I can definitely see why you think it looks like bedsheets.
This is one of those dresses where you either look amazing or like a literal pile of shit. You'd need some serious coording skills to pull this off without looking hideous but it could be done.
That thing is damn unfortunate. It looks really nicely made too, what a shame. Good for mallgoth's first lolita, I guess?
It looks like a child's dress, but aren't these collabs literally made for children? I never understood why anyone over the age of 12 or 13 would wear this or Rapunzel one. It would look cute on a little girl though.
Literally anything JetJ have released in the last few years
I don't like the OP but I love this print. I have the JSK in my wardrobe. The lavender colorway is so pretty
Literally anything by Triple Fortune. I don't understand why people like their dresses. Their bonnets are gorgeous, but holy fuck are their designs ugly as hell. Busy or clashy, dresses are at a really awkward length, and then there was that one review going over the shitty construction.
I once say a girl wearing this shit. I thought it looked so cheap I asked if she made it herself. Honestly it never crossed my mind it could be brand with those ribbon straps and green blanket print.
> Loves most things by Triple Fortune
> Can't justify the prices though
They're so OTT and busy that I find them super interesting. Also I think it'll be either them or Meta that will finally give me a non-butterfly insect print.
I actually like their designs, especially pic related which they posted on instagram recently but would never pay a high price for it because I know the construction is so shitty.
This would be perfect if you were making a coord themed around an old-timey drifter.
I'm actually curious to see what their bonnets look like up close. From what I remember from photographs, the lace they use for the inner ruffle looked questionable and I remember someone mentioning seeing an exposed serged edge. Can anyone attest to the construction of 3F bonnets?
i think this is the ugliest brand dress which is sad because purple is my favorite color
In Little Bears Cafe's defense though, there ahve been instances of it being coorded cutely.
>tfw its one of the first dresses I fell in love with when I got into lolita
>Own the skirt but want the op too
>Would prefer the jsk but it wouldn't fit my bust.
admittedly I don't even coord it very well, its just something about super tacky pompom trim and printed ric rac that gets me.
>Mfw all my favourite colours in one dress
>Mfw super soft spot of gingham
>Mfw I don't even hate it.
I love this too.
and this as well.
I may just have shitty taste.
damn, how can they turn such a nice painting into shit it's beyond me. So much potential wasted. I'm also kind of disappointed that they didn't chose the hell part of that triptych instead. That would have transated better as a print on a dress imo.
>disappointed that they didn't chose the hell part of that triptych instead
That was exactly my thought when I first saw it. Or better yet, both (not on the same dress though, as a two-part collection of sorts). Though I'm not a huge fan of the cut and design of the dress itself, to be honest.
lol, when this print came out egl mostly hated it. Trust me, this print is popularly unpopular.
It's also commonly quoted alongside Ashley Embroidery as the turning point when replicas were no longer about having a cheap version of a dream dress the burandos don't care enough about to re-release to their fans, and more about the replica-makers just replicating anything they can get their hands on, because both the original and the replicas were so unpopular both of them stuck around in the shops for such a long time, no one can actually figure out why this print out of everything else was being replicated. You'd think even the replica-makers would have some sense not to replicate the prints nobody likes.
i know most people hate this ageplay-chan dress, but i love it. i really really do. one day i plan to get my hands on the yellow op. one day!
i hate it so much, the puke colored yellow version is the worst... so why do i want it so bad?
i love this dress! although i can understand why most people dont.
>tfw one of my dream dresses
My fav is music etched into someones backside.
They could have picked something and stuck it on the bodice like they did with the Jesus dress, they could have picked a more muted painting, they could have made it into a border print somehow or at least altered the cut of the dress so it looked more mediaeval and more suited to the paintings. This shit is awful, how does someone look at the finished product and decide to sell it?
AatP's Sweet Devil. It's an embodiment of some of AatP's clusterfuck design and fabric choices. I don't get why it sells for so high an amount. It's got so much going on, and ends up looking cheap and tacky. It's a fabric monster. The same goes for some of their questionable fabric/trim choice vests and coats, such as the ones with weird curtain tassel trim along the bottom.
This disgusting mess. Triple fortune in general is bad imo though.
I think Sweet Devil is lovely honestly, it has a lot going on but all the elements work together nicely.
AP has some real fabric monsters, looking at this makes me want to throw up a bit.
Wow this is so ugly. I need one.
I hated the 2014 Wrapping Ribbon. It looks so garish and cheap imo.
AP should've stuck with the colorways from the 2010 release.
I don't mind the mint colourway in the jsk cut.
This AP dress looks like cheap Milanoo-shit. Especially the sax colorway. But maybe it´s just an unlucky photo.
I love prints that allow me to blend in with the wallpaper at Gran's house.
This cut and the details on top of the print are just so super busy, the rest of your outfit would need to be fairly plain and unembellished. I would wear it tho.
