Time to get back to non-Halloween coords.
Love this colorway
That bow is not helping, go with something smaller. Flourescent bathroom lighting is not flattering and not the most desirable location, go for natural lighting instead.
Super cute for casual, the tights feel a little noisy, I might replace them with something a bit more calm like a flat cream that matches the blouse underneath.
feels very ageplay
I love this coord, but man that face ruins it. I think it's just the problem of the photo being taken at an awkward time, she probably looks fine most of the time.
Another coord I love but the face ruins it... the eye makeup is awkward and makes her eyes look droopy.
Is there a term for when people do this weird flat-but-stiff bows in the hair like this? It looks so bad. It needs to be propped up by hair, or folded more so that it looks natural. I think she has potential, but needs to sort out her eyebrows and get a better place for photos, too...
This is hideous. Flat hair, frumpy cardigan (maybe unbutton a few and it'd be better?) clashy tights and wtf is the shoes? I feel like someone with better style could turn the basics of this into something cute.
people often think the CoF thread is for shit-talking itas, so when >>8702998 commented (with a comment that can be read two ways*), >>8703026 thought the other anon meant way #2 rather than way #1.
*the wording is ambiguous depending on context.
>I feel like so many of these are just sub-par or nitpicky. Did Halloween fuck with peoples sense?
>I feel like so many of the coords posted to CoF, and subsequently shared here, are pretty meh. Did the costume festival make it hard for everyone to dress well?
>The coords you all are posting here are merely subpar, and therefore not worth discussing. Can you not tell the difference between a good and bad coord after Halloween?
given that we know newfags often mistake CoF for a specific type of ita thread, and the original anon's comment had wording that would fit what such a newfag would say, the second interpretation is not far off.
I almost like this but I don't care for the fandom elements or the earrings. But that's a nitpick.
Maybe for feedback on how to improve them before they're complete? This one looks pretty cute (I like the colors!) though it seems the JSK doesn't fit her bust too well. It might look better with a bolero on top.
Great now all I can see is a butt plug on her head since you said that. I don't like any of it. The flowers the shoes something seems off about how the skirt is resting cheap petti maybe, and too short too.
Yikes. She made it a point to put a bunch of fucking pumpkins on her head but can't even be bothered to wear a real lolita skirt? If I passed her on the street I wouldn't have thought she was going for lolita at all.
I have been laughing for 20 years
Gonna dump a few recent coordinates that I liked.
And that's it. I haven't been following these threads too closely and a lot of stuff I'd saved to dump were dupes, sorry about that.
I'm not that person who first complained, anon. I just gave you my opinion on why I think it's unbalanced. You can take that in and agree or disagree with it. Or you can get defensive and attack me personally.
There wasn't anything defensive about the post you're replying to, it's fair to be annoyed by the knee-jerk "I hate flower crowns and underskirts and everything else trendy right now" reaction because it's so prevalent in these threads (even when the hated accessory actually makes some degree of sense).
Yes, but she didn't say "she should get rid of the crown because it's trendy." She backed it up with her opinion why it shouldn't be in the coord (it makes it unbalanced, which I agree with). >>8704145's response makes it seem she was criticizing the crown for the sake of being trendy, which wasn't even mentioned in >>8704142.
I mean, it's fair to complain all around, but going 'hurr durr u just dun like trends' in response to an opinion that doesn't even mention the word 'trend' whatsoever is silly.
I love how she's trying to lie about the length. It doesn't matter what angle it's taken from, that jsk does NOT reach the top of your knees girl. That bish is about 4 inches above, you ain't fooling noone.
I like her face too. I have lips like this too, naturally, so thin lipped-chans can take their salt elsewhere we can't help it. And I thought the slightly droopy eye is a lolita makeup thing. I think she's fabulous and cute.
I really don't care for anything but the JSK in this coord.
She has a better picture, which I'll post next
I'm sorry but her friend...really isn't too good at making hats.
CoF is not a mori comm. Did she post there by mistake?
Why post when you don't even have a proper coord shot?
This girl was a Cosplayer first and then went lolita very recently. Her coords have greatly improved from the ita shit she was doing but I agree with the comments above. Her makeup is almost too much and her smile reminds me of a cartoon. Her boyfriend usually takes her photos and I believe recently taking the coms photos but I believe quite a bit of shoop is used. Hopefully they will dial it back a bit. I know she is a seagull too so she probably is lurking.
this looks like some sort of mori/lolita crossover and it isn't very nice.
i think i have those exact leggings.....they're not for ouji.....
This is cute! not super lolita in my mind but i really like it~
Isn't one of the rules of cof that you need to have a full coord shot?
I really don't care for her hair and she needs more poof I think
A lot of cosplayers that migrate to or try out lolita almost always overdo it on the makeup (and fake looking wigs) because they're so used to it, since cons are more about photoshoots now than in-person interaction. It's one thing to be used to doing makeup to look good on camera but they have to realize that it's still a streetfashion, so photoshoot-ready makeup isn't really appropriate for what's generally daily fashion. Even event makeup is generally a little less OTT than camera-ready photoshoot makeup.
I feel like cosplayers that migrated to lolita before the cosplay community became the way it is these days don't have this problem as much because makeup was less photoshoot oriented in the earlier 2000's. You can see it when you look at old con photos.
Has she given up on the drake thing?
This is super adorable; that print is so great and she looks so happy and comfortable in it. The coord definitely needs work, but it at least fits and she she has an okay start.
>needs to add blouse, tights, better shoes, some more details on the arms like a bracelet or cute rings/nailpolish.
Honest question... does she have a mental disability or is she really that oblivious to how unattractive her coords/photos are?
I dunno. She is slowly improving. And she's trying to mimic the poses that other girls use on CoF. I'd say she's aware of it, and genuinely wants to get better, and handles it better than most people (meaning, I haven't seen her dissolve into a rant about meanies and h8rs like the majority of people who get critiqued).
I didn't know, if you know her, let her know that she doesn't need all of the shoop and the harsh make up! I'm sure she's adorable without the smoke and mirrors, her coords are cute.
Oh I don't know her personally at all but I follow her. I really think she's getting good concrit on cof and on her pages she's improved so much since the beginning was really bad... I don't feel comfortable giving her any but, I really think she is improving alot.
She isn't arguing it, I think she's asking questions to better understand. She's being very agreeable - any catty feeling (i.e. the "so you are saying I can't wear pink strawberry socks with a dress that has pink and strawberries on it?") comments are most likely a translation error.
I'm the one wearing the Musee Du Chocolat. Thanks for the feedback and I'll be sure to keep them in mind. I've only been in lolita for a year so my wardrobe is still small, so hopefully I'll be able to get more creative in the future as my wardrobe expands.
Even if she has a mental disability, she is still one of those lolitas who are seriously trying to improve and understand concrit even if it's a slow way. She still has to practice in facial expressions and posing but as long as she becomes good at coording in the end, she will look good and just need to learn how to pose.
Otome is not casual loli.
There's a separate comm for otome anyways.
Dear God she is fucking insufferable...
>inb4 you're jelly accusations (for everyone, because she bothers everyone)
Did anyone ever find out of she got officially booted via AP USA? I know it definitely doesn't matter with that whole MTO thing, but no one ever confirmed it. Either way, she can't coord for shit and looks just as obnoxious as she acts in every fucking photo. If she wasn't so challenged in English, she'd be acting just like Kate.
Sorry if these have already been posted.
Anyway, back on topic.
Haha seriously though, when did "I'm a model" become a colloquial term for "I think I'm attractive so I can judge"? We've got hideous, fat, and physically deformed women modeling these days. It means literally nothing.
I sent a request to join this group weeks ago because I recently made a new fb just for lolita, and they still haven't accepted. Anyone else have this issue? It's not like my fb page is blank or something
I'm rooting for this girl, I've been watching her improve and take concrit like a champ. She always listens to suggestions, and never gets bitchy.
I want her to become beautiful one day like the Princess Diaries or something.
lol, must not have wanted that ~*ultimate dream dress desu*~ anymore after it became available to more people. Had to hop on that navy so she can avoid removing her head from her ass.
God she has such an ugly face. She definitely needs a wig or to learn how to style her hair better (and a new haircut probably), learn to do makeup, and lose the glasses or get a mode lolita appropriate pair
Until you get below the hem, and take the photoshoot prop away. Really, it's just okay.
People are too fooled by what is really a 'good photoshoot shot' as opposed to a 'good coord'.
I know this is bait, but you probably weigh at least 1.5x her weight, like 2x. She looks close to underweight, lol. Whenever people say this, they're always people projecting their own insecurities. Doesn't it make you feel bad to call thin people whose size you will never reach fat?
>lolol salty salty salty
Unless she's using that lantern to find her way home Halloween night, a prop is not part of an outfit. It's part of a costume. A bag is an item you wear for a utilitarian purpose- to hold things. It's part of an outfit/coord.
Her tights are fine but the boots go with nothing, and her wig looks like a mess. It is far from a 'perfect' coord and the only reason it looks 'amazing' to you is because it's a good photo of a decent outfit on a pretty girl.
The wig works for me? The front is tidy and the back looks like it was teased to look like that. Just because it's not your cup of tea doesn't make it a bad coord. It works as a whole. Lol Halloween coords are literally the only time costumey lolita coords are okay with me so idk why you're so upset about it.
I never said it was a bad coord. I said it wasn't a perfect coord and stated the reasons I think so, only one of which you've addressed, and clearly we don't agree on.
You keep saying I'm upset and salty, but it's a COF coord discussion thread and I'm discussing a posted coord. The only one who seems upset here is you.
This looks a lot better than when she had that high waist skirt, but I can't figure out what is going on with her top area
Well for one the blouse doesn't fit and she looks like she's about to bust out, but the proportions are just all wrong. Generally the ideal balance of lolita silhouette goes
>large-medium head area
>small chest/waist area
>large again at the skirt
>small at the legs
>large-medium at the feet
So the fact that her torso area is equal in balance to her skirt while both dwarf her foot/head area makes her look like a huge solid block. If she had a bigger, voluminous wig/hair accessory and maybe some clunkier boots, I think it would help relieve the imbalance.
She's just got huge tits, but it's not the most unflattering coord she could have put together. You can still see her silhouette, so props to that for avoiding becoming a total blob like others have.
jesus christ she looks possessed in the pic on the left.
all i can think of when i see her smiling like that.
I think it's actually on the wand (?) she is holding. The wand-thing she's holding kind of blends in, so that skull looks like it's just... Floating there.
The hat also doesn't really match, but eh
Take away the hat, skull, and weird choker-- I think it would look much better.
These are so weirdly specific. I know we nit-pick here, but really? Maybe drop the peace sign, but it still fits. Very dolly.
She looks fucking amazing. But as >>8706624 mentioned, definitely in need of a better place for pictures. Hope she finds one because, honestly, I can never find good places for pictures myself.
>tfw no one to take pictures of you
>tfw you have a nice, giant mirror in your room
>tfw you look bad taking selfies in the mirror because of lighting + messy room background
I feel like she tried to add too many things to this coord. It looks really messy
I know I'm really late to the party in this dying thread, but you're both totally right. Unfortunately my house is small and poorly lit, so it's tough taking photos, especially when my boyfriend is the only one to help (he needs work, but is getting better). But still, no excuses, I'll keep this in mind and try to do much better with my next coord. Thank you both!
I saw this irl too and I can't say I agree with the "ageplayer" comment. I do think she could add more to her coords though since it seems like she'll buy a main piece but nothing else to coordinate it with. The head piece she wore was the choker to the OP, and it looks really tacky used as a head piece. Also, I feel like the make up is too harsh for lolita and looks sort of show-girl esque.
This is my coord, and I have since added full coordinates to my wardrobe instead of just main pieces. I only wore unfinished/rushed outfits for meetups and my personal fb, not for sharing online though thank you for the salt. I agree about the headpiece, but I was taking concrit and this was also a coord I made with what I already had on hand, I've already since ordered something more suitable in the mail. The makeup only looks so harsh because as you know if you saw me we were at an outdoor picnic meetup with harsh morning light.
Why don't you address the people saying your coord is ageplay, too? Seems like that's the less constructive criticism in this boat and seems more deserving of your "thanks for the salt" comment.
because if people want to post stupid things and have untrue opinions I don't want to address it. Ill take actual con crit though. I said thanks for the salt because its obvious if they have seen my other outfits when I only wore them to small meetups with friends or for casual things around town and didn't call them finished coordinates , especially when If you are on my personal media you obviously could use some work as a lolita as well, because everyone in the comm has nitpicks and concrit.
> I don't mind even harsh con-crit from actually experienced lolita's with who have nice taste, but this was for a lowkey meetup in florida in the summer, and I've already stated that I would do things differently (wig, bow, tights), ? This was just the only good shot of my ouji's first full coordinate and a cute couples photo to be shared, I didn't think this coord was great by any means, but to nitpick it to death when I've already stated I would have changed things, and concrit my wardrobe and coord skills on my personal fb and for private meetups when I never outfit shared is where I stop caring about what you think.
You should really learn how to use greentext, it makes it really obvious to tell which posts are yours since you have no idea what you're doing when you use it. Maybe next time you try to imitate a person you should make sure your speech habits aren't the same, disorganized pattern.
