Feel free to post any cringey content (text posts, images, etc) from the Lolita Amino community.
>sweet/steam punk coord
She also claims to be into Lolita for 11 damn years
>tits out in lolita
This will never not make me angry. In my opinion, all necklines for lolita should be no lower than the hollow of the throat and clothes shouldn't be cut in a way that emphasizes the breasts (such as underbust jsks) because this fashion is not meant to be sexy and people shouldn't try and sex it up
I'm pretty sure she isn't actually intending for her petti to sit that low, but seriously how does she think that it looks good?
Also kek because she wants to use the waist bow of the dress as a headbow, hope she looks like a helicopter
>implying a fashion inspired by rococo can only have tasteful cleavage showing in ero
holy fuck this girl is a gold mine and also a complete liar
>tries to claim that petit is hanging out like that because it's hanging up
>petti is still hanging out when she's wearing it
Question but what's the general on using a waist bow on the back of the head instead of the front or side? Is it okay as long as your hair/wig is styled properly for that or is it still considered to be a little too big to look good?
Agreed. Part of why I love lolita is because it's not sexy, so I hate it when people try to make it sexy. And when people say shit about it "not being sexy enough." If lolita is not sexy enough for you, don't fucking wear it.
It really just depends on the size of the bow, the stiffness of it, and the overall quality of the bow.
Generally speaking, bodyline is a great example of dresses with shitty waist bows, and a lot of newbies think that they can use the bow on their head.
(aside from classic lolita) most headbows are standing, so it often looks ridiculous when people use a flat bow on their head.
I like lower necklines and underbust cuts sometimes, but only on small-chested girls. There should definitely never be cleavage.
>tfw cosplay friend wants to do steampunk lolita
>wants to have her tits out because wearing a cheap corset and having your tits flop out over it is apparently an essential steampunk aesthetic
>bra strap showing
>mfw her headpiece is something you use to hold your hair back in the bathroom while washing your face
what the actual hell
and all these spreepicky posts she's making. i cry for newfags who are uneducated about taobao resellers.
ita thread isnt really active so ill post this here
Different anon but i've literally never seen an instance where "tasteful cleavage" has ever been accepted in lolita. If it's THAT heavily inspired by rococo it's more history wear than anything else. I really hope it's just one anon trolling with these responses. The general consensus was always that it was inspired by victorian childrens clothing. There's just a general aesthetic and shape/feel to lolita that really can't be acheived with a bear neckline, it just wouldn't look "balanced."
New substyle: hobo lolita
Seriously though, it'd be hilarious for meets to have signage that says you aren't permitted to participate without shoes and a petti.
That Walmart black chandelier fabric. that can't look good worn. I used that fabric for temp curtains till the ones I wanted came in stock. it's thin cheap cotton and can't be flattering at all.
As a pretty new user, it's got it's good and bad side.
It unfortunately attracts a lot of itas and generally cringey people who like to combine their shitty anime with the fashion. On the other hand, there is a good handful of really nice experienced people there. It's also more active and coherent than FB groups.
on the surface it looks shitty, but the draw of Amino is the good people there. i've made actual friendships with a small group and it's really nice! so i'd' recommend using it as a platform to really try and talk to people. the experienced/sane ones are easy to pick out.
also some of the newbie posts are just kinda funny
I saw this in LA and just made me gag. Please for the love of mana wash your dirty ass socks. How the hell did she think this was acceptable to photograph? It's obvious the socks where worn and not washed yet with how the one is bunched. Gross.
They where all like that. I honestly think she just rinses them in water when she gets home. No soap just water to get the obvious crusties off.
>She also claims to be into Lolita for 11 damn years
I believe it. when i first started lolita i was into it for 6 years, but dressed like shit when i first started. just because they've been interested in it for a long time doesn't mean they followed it closely or know what the hell they're doing.
She will learn. You can either take the comments here witha grain of salt or you can get hurt and cry. But the comments on here where just harsh criticisms that she could use to improve her look in the future. Not down right bitterness that sometimes people get here.
oh hey, she just BAWWW''leted her post
she's probably watching this thread rn. she's a nice girl, but posting about it instead of taking it with grace is really indicative of her maturity level. most of us who wear the fashion get posted, either positively or negatively. this is no big thing.
Exactly. I've been posted here multiple times, and even when it was positive, I've still received constructive comments from other gulls on how I can improve.
If she's only interested in complaining that people don't like her shitty coords, then she clearly has no intention of improving. It's sad that amino is all ass-pats and hand-holding, but it seems like newbies are too sensitive to take any comments that aren't positive.
It's obvious she's watching the thread or else she wouldn't have made the post. Grace is something you learn in this fashion. The best way to deal with it is to laugh about it then move on. You can't please everyone especially here. Don't talk about and don't call attention to it then it will fizzle out to nothing.
I was posted a lot in my earlier years of Lolita. It hurt at first but I did learn from the anons that offered proper crit to help improve. Now I have seen my CoF posts get posted in the inspiration threads. It wouldn't have happened if I sat there upset in my early years.
Cat ears = Literally this, just placed really, really strangely with the ears all the way back?
I'd also make it "no exposed shoulders" since itas are hell bent on skipping blouses (never ever okay in my opinion, if it's hot, either wear an op or skirt/blouse combo or just don't wear lolita that day)
Not so much any more. There's actually a lot of fairly experienced lolitas on the amino. It's just the young teens are the ones posting all the time. The older ones tend to stay on adult lolita and watch the hilarity ensue. But with lor being on there that could be why we have a lot of stupid posts since people like to lick her ass for attention. Same with raine Dragon. She always gets likes because raine dragon.
I've met a lot of really helpful people in the Adult Lolita chat. Their always good at offering advice without coming across as rude. It is a good forum to meet people and to grow in the fashion.
I went looking for it and found this hot mess.
From the description
>"Every time you wear this dress we want you to sing "It's My Party" at the top of your lungs. Go ahead, cry if you want to."
From the cosplay amino... but while we're on the Melanie Martinez cringe train...
I hate the fact that MM has ruined lolita and mafe the mainstream opinion of it even worse
I wouldn't mind if a celebrity wore lolita if:
They did it correctly and tastefully (covering tattoos and taking out piercings, no wild colored hair, etc)
They did not mix their weird sexy baby stuff with it/try to sex it up
Didn't spread misinformation
Didn't try to be edgy-desu like MM is
IDK how I feel about this. But it used to be a thing to cosplay jpop/jrock artists. Back in the day, there were a lot of Ayumi Hamasakis, Manas, <insert long list of other jrock artists here>. But MM?
Absolutely everything is wring with this, I want to die, and why did they get Justin Bieber to model "lolita" shit?
I agree with this so much. If she did it correctly then no problem, but using it as her "I'm so different" signature look and completely disregarding the fashion is fucking nauseating. At least most people don't even know what the fuck lolita is, so may not associate her style with it.
>i'm fat, poor, and immature
i dunno, but a married lady with two kids shouldn't be posting her lolita manifesto on an app made for preteens. she should go attempt to better her sewing skills or eat a salad or something instead of complaining about how ill-received her craft store lolita is.
I've always had an issue with this 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder' thing because, as youre in an alt. Fashion, you are acknowledging that a particular look and style is what you are going for. You wouldnt say a mall goth awful preteen is on the same level as a Morticia goth queen.
On the same note, even if youre not in a fashion or you cosplay or whatever, you will know if something looks good and of someone made an effort. If you look cheap, you look cheap. Not much else to do but get better.
God she basically checked off every typical and lame-ass excuse itas use to try to justify their shitty style.
I also think that if she's so dirt poor that it just gives all the more reason to not be in this expensive fashion so she can give that needed money to her family.
I have no issue with real trans people, but these are all cis women looking for ass-pats for beings ~so brave and speshul~
>tfw I have the exact same hairband in my Amazon cart right now together with an oil-based cleanser
Don't forget her cringe bio, it goes great with her shitty attitude.
>Wow. You mean I actually have to take responsibility for getting knocked up and married?! I have to make sacrifices and make my life about others more than myself?! I can't afford lolita, but I love lolita. I should be able to wear my window blinds and call it lolita if I want because it isn't my fault I had children and got married.
I viscerally hate this woman.
She literally has the audacity to call the community "privileged" for being able to afford clothing that her poor welfare-ass can't afford, like maybe she should consider that it's not our problem that she's too poor to afford it? I'm not privileged because I work hard enough to afford brand.
I really hope more comments pour in on that post, everyone's been calling her fat ass out and it's great.
Video focuses a little on architecture towards the end but you can easily see the statements extend beyond that scope and can be applied to this too.
When using "beauty is in the eye if the beholder" you throw away all standards. This is so that you can still try to call something that took a lot less effort, money, and skill to make on par with what is popularly seen as beautiful.
I had a feeling it was her who created this Amino
The Alternative Fashion group is really something else.
I know there is some cringy people/posts, but I'm actually loving this app. It's kinda like having EGL back. I have no idea where people ask for questions any more, I only know of COF and LU on FB.
>People understand before you are a preteen, you are unable to give convent because of how easily manipulated your mind is and how you lack the maturity and responsibility to fully understand your actions that may follow you for life
>But you're totally mature enough to not be heavily influenced by tumblr safe spaces and responsible enough to make the decision to inhibit your own body's development
REALLY MAKES YOU THINK.
Not advocating child consent, I'm against it; but for those same reasons I'm against giving a child the driving seat to other serious life decisions. Maybe I'm jaded from seeing so many "trans" people give actual trans people a bad name because they wanna be special tumblr snowflakes. I'd hate to see these kids turn 20 and regret their decisions.
I legit just threw up a bit in my mouth Jesus Christ.
Elegant. Simply magnificent. Beauty is in the eye if the beholder.
Nope. Disabled from the comm, she was causing too much drama. She made a new "Breaking Rules Lolita Amino" just so she can be in her on little world of Simplicy Ita patterns. Sucks it's Invite Only
I think making your own is fine, but this bitch is using legit Walmart fabric. Exhibit A: her profile cover photos
>tfw you use hello kitty ears used for cosplay/halloween/etc. to wash your face with cause you got nothing else cute to wash your impurities with.
I like how this swamp monster doesn't care for the rules of lolita, yet she has no problem with using a picture of a coord for her group's background that would seemingly follow those fashion rules, and be so "elitist" as she's claimed. She's a hypocrite.
It's possible to get good stuff for cheaper if you know where to look, but even then I'd make more money working overtime than I would save by making a JSK myself instead of buying it. For the materials and time put into lolita clothing, it's actually almost cheap.
why do people get involved with lolita and then get pissed about the rules? I like the fashion but I'd never actually wear it because i know I can't be assed to care about everything being exactly right. These people know what they're getting into.
I don't understand it either. They like the label and the "feeling" of it but they don't actually like the aesthetic? Or putting an effort into their appearance? Why even bother at all? The fact they insist on clinging onto the label "lolita" is what limits them, not "the rules".
Melanie doesn't wear lolita style anything though? I've never put what she wears in the same category as lolita and I think anyone who does probably has no idea what lolita is anyway.
There's nothing wrong with making your own clothes. The old school harajuku bridge meetup was actually girls making their own stuff and trading things with friends.
The only issue is that you have to be prepared to invest more time in it than just operating a sewing machine on a piece of curtain cutoff. You see in places like Harajuku many of the small brand store owners spent a year or two at a fashion college before starting their own brands. Getting a good fabric hookup is part of the process too.
But what that woman has on in the picture just looks like baggy shit and ill fitted. There's no more fashion style to that than wearing rags.
I know I shouldn't have high expectations for anyone living in Idaho but I'm still disapointed
>Joined an ATLA amino
>start talking about merch
>start talking about cosplay
>they ask me for the prices of my merch and cosplay
>everyone side eyes me for being a merchfag
I'm an adult, with a job. the fact that I got side eyed for spending $130 on a cosplay (not that much) and $40 on a figurine of the series in a group dedicated to the series still baffles me.
Amino is full of teenagers and poorfags. I don't know about other aminos, but I'm hoping that we can eventually flood the lolita amino with good lolitas and burando so that the poorfag itas either shape up or make their own poorfag ita amino somewhere else.
Hasn't the cosplay amino been around for a while? What's it like? I'm not into cosplay myself, but I'm interested for the sake of my seagull sisters.
cheap IS poorly made in this fashion you retard, 'budget' is the term for shit poorfags can afford
>norse inspired name
>colour preference hasn't changed since age 9
excuse me while I throw up
there's plenty of asspats and advice groups on fb, try big sisters of lolita or the mentor group
>what's it like
If you're someone like me who's an above average (aka highschool closet cosplay) cosplayer but not skilled enough to make your own cosplay or be e-famous, the cosplay amino group is a definite booster. If you have good pics they'll put you on the front page and you'll get at least 150 likes and a couple of comments. It's not as good for it as Sakio+ which is full of even worse weebs and thirsty men but even the most basic of cute cosplay selfies can get you a flood of likes/comments there.
Quality wise? It's like every other Amino.. full of cheap teens and weebs who can't afford Taobao costumes and refuse to wear wigs.
People take that interview out of context a lot. She was referring to the clothes she wears onstage for crybaby as "adult baby" but the only time she ever mentioned lolita she mentioned it by name, as Japanese lolita fashion. I don't know who started this misinformation. I don't even like her shit but at least I have my facts straight. This argument is stale af
She had worn sissy stuff in the past and has only referred to those specific clothes as 'adult baby'. >>9277939 is right on this one.
>pic related, this is the shit she was talking about
I don't want to defend her or anything, but she's done a pretty good job not mentioning lolita or misconstruing it when she did rarely wear some AP pieces in the past. She doesn't even wear them anymore, as far as I know.
I realize this is an amino cringe thread and not an amino general thread, but I had a question about the Adult EGL group. I'd love some happy medium between the salt of cgl and the ass-pats of FB, and it seems like that group might do it. I have 3 proof coords, but I'm only been in the fashion for about 10 months. Is that going to be held against me? Am I "newbie" by those standards?
as long as you are A) over 18 B) have at least three outfits with three main pieces you are accepted. Being in it for 2 months or even 15 years is irrelevant to what the group is for. It's just a group where we can get away from the cringe 14 year olds and their edgy " I'm lolita because I am special" mentality.
She just straight up looks like Anne in that photo.
People really try to make that a thing?
What I don't understand is how she says they work, has a husband, etc and yet makes less than $900 a month. That's a part time job. Get another part time job in the household, because clearly only one of them is working or shut the fuck up and go home. It would double her income. But then they wouldn't qualify for welfare I guess.
Also part time kids, kek. True trailor trash.
>join multi-crafting amino for decoden stuff
>get a lot of nice comments
>get one illiterate comment
>"Wut beads did u use"
>tell her they're pearls
>"Really like this?"
>shows me pic related
>Politely tell her no, those are perler beads
>"Ya their perler bead minis"
>Again explain that no, that's not what I said I used, mine are pearls
>"Oh ok thnks"
I know she wasn't trying to be rude or anything but it's kind of cringy that you're not literate enough to tell the difference between 'pearl' and 'perler'.
And I dropped my pic. This isn't hers, just an example.
It's beautiful when lolitas band together and shame a furry
I used to use the Crafty Amino for posting my Decoden things too, and I've had my fair share of bad comments too. I've had girls ask if they can use REAL Whipped cream mixed with glue for Decoden, and even some idiot kids thinking that making cell cases first and sending them BEFORE payment is how people sell things online
>I'm just starting out, so I'll be dressed as a god damn animal.
yeah! the mods as a whole are friendly and competent, especially since they picked up more people and added new rules
it's a friendly environment that can still facilitate honesty and concrit and i like that a lot
Along with the others, it doesnt matter. I've only been active in the fashion since August and I only recently turned 18 in September, but I had three coords and I was fine lmao. The Adult EGL amino is definitely a great way to get a break from the cringefest that is LA a lot of the times lol
In spite of that, it's hard to avoid her coming up as a topic at meetups among the younger members sometimes. Idk why her aesthetic attracts a younger crowd; they seem to worship her.
Is it common in other comms?
goddamn, the schadenfreude from reading this
please look at this post and laugh
i would screenshot it but lazy, if another anon is willing would be appreciated
>lolita is bodyshaming
>cosplay lolita is real
>asking for concrit is antifeminist
>meetups are stupid and vain, also i think museums are uninteresting
>ebay is better than second hand
>i have 0 followers yet here i am, talking shit to no one
>Oh yeah, I also should probably state that i’ve been into gothic lolita for a good few years now.
i like how she says this as if it gives her some kind of credibility when it's just obvious she's lying or eternally ita
oh god and shes reblogged it from herself on all her Lolita blogs to seemingly signal boost it. im glad tumblr wasnt around when i got into the fashion. all we had was live journal to post this type of cringe.
I just realized where i recognise this girl, OP is pic related.
oh my god, you're right
and iirc the dates match up to around the time she was put on blast for being ita garbage? i'll have to check
and bedsheets-chan has been harassing (i use this term loosely bc they're just childish insults) my friend on insta even though bedsheets-chan's full name is connected to her profile. idiot.
actually brands have made cat, bunny and bear ear headbands for the fashion. It's just how you wear them that makes them horrible.
i think she's either insane or lying about her age because she acts like a whiny preteen
then again there are MOMS on LA who cry about being ita so i guess i shouldn't be surprised
good on you for purging your groups of people like her
>mfw she can't differentiate between cute burando animal ear accessories and dollar store cat ears
there is no hope
>h-how dare people go to places they want to whilst wearing the clothes they like!1!!
All the itas in my comm love her and keep asking to have her music play during tea parties. I wouldn't hate her as much if they didn't keep bringing her up and insisting she's totally lolita.
>asking for coord crit means you are dressing for a man
seriously this chick has something wrong with her but this post is a fucking goldmine thanks anon
i understandwhat point shes trying to make but its not about feminism. Asking for crit doesn't mean you are asking for others approval. It's just you asking for ways to make another outfit later and have more use for it.
To be fair, a lot of fashion choices and movements throughout history are often affiliated with or explicitly endorse political messages. But until someone can actually provide hard evidence that Japanese lolitas in the 80's and 90's thought of the fashion as a feminist movement, I'm not buying it. People just want to think it's feminist because they get off on the idea that they're "smashing the patriarchy" by wearing funny-looking clothes.
>real whipped cream mixed with glue
Holy shit there was a tutorial posted here a while back to laugh at where someone used shaving cream and glue. It was awful. Thankfully aside from that girl everyone else has been super nice but it does make me feel bad that I'm too busy with finals and Christmas to make anything else to post because a few people seemed genuinely interested and there's very few other people I know that do this kind of deco because of how time consuming it is. The last phone case I did took me well over six hours to make.
And on the subject of cringy Amino content..
>join biggest lesbian group looking for women my own age with the same interests in weeb stuff
>scroll down front page, everyone looks 12
>click on chat groups listing
>"Seeking Girlfriends: 13 - 15!!"
>exit the fuck out of there
>tfw think a lot of things/people are cute
>tfw been on cgl for only a week
>tfw already nitpicking things/people
>tfw stuff is starting to look worse
I feel terrible
it only gets worse before you realize you dont give a fuck and come here without that feeling of badness. eventually you run out of salt and just enjoy the boards for people who are salty for the sake of being salty
It's probably more so the fact that these are pretty bad cases honestly, I still find mostly everything cute. I only feel like it'll just get worse.
I think I'm on the fast track to it then because I just started really looking into this place last Sunday, and already I'm seeing things that I couldn't see before. It's not that it's even BAD but it's enough for me to start picking at everything.
There's a difference with seeing flaws in things, maybe commenting on them, and going full on autistic rage mode "oh god her -body part- is 0.2 cms too big for this fashion WHAT AN ITA reeeeeee". I wouldn't say the former is a bad mindset to have, it just makes you critical.
You probably think you're on the fast track to the latter because you're not used to yourself picking things apart?
I once considered getting a 1/3 front only face mask, cat like, to cover my face since I always derp in photos. But I wanted it to be small, not cartoonish, and softly colored like the animals in Mossbadgger's brooches.
Kinda glad my commissioned artist fucked me over or i might have gotten kicked out like this chick.
That's my comm too and there's nobody in our comm that's obnoxious like that in regards to kimono. If someone posted about wearing kimono to a meet then people would tell them not to.
It just means you're starting to learn things. When I first staring looking into cosplay and fashion, I stumbled upon cringe blogs first and I'm glad for it because I'm much more critical of myself. I try not to be so critical of other people but it's hard not to cringe sometimes
shes offended on lolita humour because cosplay lolita is not a joke guizzzz!!!!!!
When they're official mascot/brand collaborations or those two specific Japanese women, you mean? Because aside from that tiny handful of exceptions, furries in lolita always look awful.
The Japanese lolita with the bunny suit (I dont know her name but her pics are everywhere) works because of the light colour scheme and how cutesy it looks. neon pink cartoon wolves with black ears are never going to be cute or elegant enough for lolita. When will furries understand this
Pic related, her and that cyclops chick, which I personally think is pretty interesting. Not amazing but not horrible to look at either
let us all remember when kylie asked "WHERE'S MOOT??????" in reaction to her getting blasted
i think it's funny too, we're here for the amino cringe anyway and once they selfpost it gets amplified 100x over
it looks like she's trying to delete the comments that aren't hers as she goes, but they still show up on her blog
what a wretch
OH LMAO DIS BITCH
she got upset when I told her that her hello kitty dress wasn't rori lolita and she didn't know why so maybe this is partially my fault
someone has to tell her she's a grown ass woman she should be able to take it
girl she hasn't ruined shit, she just wears her adult baby shit, and then lolita and most people won't recognize the difference between the two if they aren't familiar with the basics of lolita
So when people see us they naturally compare us to her fashion because they DONT know the difference and go off this "adult baby" shit that the fashion already has a bad rep for because people are already drawing that conclusion from sweet styles and misinformation
THAT'S what people are upset about
Looks like it's from walking around on the grass/dirty floor.
It's now clear about the semi child custody going on. Only narcissists could live their life like this and not think of their children's life that they have to live within a dump, and a woman too obsessed to use scraped up money to post selfies online.
Pretty positive she is a troll, at least to some extent. Like, her bad coords/bad handmade are probably legit attempts, but when people didn't start sucking her dick right away she turned around and started trying to be what newbies seem to think a typical cgl lolita is. Intentionally trying to ruffle feathers just so people will talk to/about her.
But this way she gets all the attention and all the credit. It's not super common in lolita but you see this kind of dumb shit in other, usually male-dominated hobbies desu
Because "hurr I'm so above the community and people can't tell me shit because I've made up my mind about everything"
>I'm far too kind for this world
jesus christ dude shut up, don't be a fag
that's not a troll. that's good old-fashioned butthurt.
I don't see anything wrong with this. I mean, she's just a newbie asking to know more about the rules of the fashion. I don't see the harm in this. On one hand someone can say she should lurk more until she doesn't have to ask something so easily answered, but the fact that she asked at all instead of posting "HERE'S MY BEE POLLINATING A RAPE FIELD COORD" and fighting anyone who says it isn't lolita.
