On one hand, I think it may be a symptom of my special brand of retardation, but on the other hand, I feel like it might be something that most people go through sometimes, even if only in small amounts.

Avoid common mistakes like using egg/breadcrumbs as a binder or adding vegetables. If you want, add spices and/or herbs. Cayenne, paprika, ground thyme, ground coriander, garlic powder, salt, pepper, it all works. I wouldn't recommend adding fresh herbs/vegetables. Depends on what you are going to do in it. Mostly used to sear meats, get a sear on veggies then go into oven or deep fry in. If you are going to keep a seasoning on it it's best not to mix sweet things and savory things.

I'd say a larger pan for savory and a small pan for cobblers and little pies would be best. Not sure about price difference but I found mine by a dumpster, deep cleaned and re seasoned it and use it all the time. Fry bacon and eggs in it most mornings and use it to fry chicken and potatoes all the time. I think price has something to do with...

Go with carbon steel.

Lighter than cast iron, but can be tossed in an oven / open flame and take stupid high heats just like cast iron.

Does anyone here have any experience using lard as a butter replacement? Butter is expensive as hell in my country. The normal alternative would be using margarine, but wouldn't lard be a lot healthier?

I have a disgusting, shameful habit of going on sugar binges. I'll literally eat an entire box of fruit chews in one sitting, maybe even add some cookies.

If I do this during the day, I fall asleep shortly after. I assume this is true at night but it's not a noticeable symptom because I'm about to go to bed anyway.

Can someone tell me what about the sugar is causing me to fall asleep - and what other things might it be doing to my body besides making me a lardass and increasing my risk for diabetes.

So I cooked an egg as I usually do this morning, ive just recently tried to break out of NEETdom and am learning how to cook things for myself, the eggs ive been making thus far have been going good for the past few days but this morning my egg refused to get rid of that liquidy substance atop the egg. pic related

Idk, I suppose the butter may go rancid if it sits out for long enough. It is fat though, and due to its molecular structure, it won't rot like meat or vegetables will if it sits out. It is why preservation techniques like confit work (though I believe confit is canned)
