I've been having a problem with my rice. I recently bought a new stove and I've been cooking my white long grain, simply-as-fuck newfag rice on it with the simple method of "put twice as much water (by volume) in a pan as you want to use (by volume) of rice, bring this water to boil while you wash your rice with cold water, then add your rice to the pan and cover, reduce heat to low and simmer for around 12 minutes, then serve it".

My problem however is that when I'm wanting to serve the...

1) what the fuck is risotto actually
2) how do I make that sticky rice every aZn restaurant has?
2b) do I just need a different type of rice?
>>
>>8140463

You're using too much water
Also, I'm guessing you are using a thin shitty pot that tends to hotspot which is why you have rice stuck to the bottom of it.

Au jus is a French culinary term meaning "with juice". It refers to meat dishes prepared or served together with a light gravy made from the juices given off by the meat as it is cooked.

What's your budget like?

I've used many over the years and honestly even the cheapass ones do a pretty good job. The only complaint I ever had with one is that the removable "crumb tray" at the bottom was so shallow that it was nearly impossible to remove it without creating a bigger mess than it was supposed to help with.

The reason I ask about your budget is that ideally you'd get one with a convection mode built in. The Kitchenaid KCO222 is a great choice in my opinion; has...

Of course it's possible. Most meat you buy at the supermarket was already frozen when it was shipped to the store.

Freezing rarely affects taste, but what it does affect is texture. Expect some drip loss, but it should taste fine (assuming it's not freezer burned)

plenty of maple syrup and just a touch of horseradish

I add frozen green peas to mine. Don't do like I did the first time and add the water before the peas. You'll end up with water above the line and it will boil over. Add the green peas, THEN fill it with water to the line, and place in the microwave for 3.5 minutes. Velveeta is good, but Easy Mac Triple Cheese is a little bit better, I think.

Now that you've got a delicious serving of macaroni and peas, you can stir in a can of tuna or chicken.

You could also fry some ground beef and freeze it. Break off maybe 1-2 tablespoons, and do the same thing as with the peas. Then when it's finished cooking, add some chili powder. Instant chili mac, bro.

As long as you keep them refrigerated and eat them within a month, there's a statistically insignificant chance of you becoming ill from those eggs.

Moreover, if you filter and boil the brine, I see no reason why you couldn't reuse it for another batch.

I'm currenty living in a pretty old apartment and I can't stand the kitchen anymore. Especially the electric stove (made before 1989 I think, as it's made in West-Germany) is driving me nuts.
It has the usual problems. Takes ages to heat up, stays warm forever and it's so freaking uneven and also quite hard to clean. If I don't drown the pan in oil, half of it isn't covered at all and I'm done with that.

I'm from Germany, so sadly I can't just get most of the standard recommendations.
