Comfy Midnight Snack Thread: Grandmas House Edition
Keebler MeMe cookies and Grandma's Homemade banana nut muffins.
Earlier today was:
Rice and Bratwurst
All made from scratch. Already has beef stew in the crock pot. Will be up at 4am to prep the rest of Sunday dinner and have it on the table after church but before football. Nearly 80 too.
Go visit Grandma Anon. She wants to see you.
I've got a shitload of empty canning jars.
What should I can? I have access to a farmers market,a pressure canner and pickling supplies. It's Spring where I am btw.
I think it's about time I make some stuffed peppers.
Should I mix the rice with the ground beef or have them on the side?
Stuffed peppers with the filling on the side...
What the Hell is the point, then? I'm confused now.
I'd like to know too. And do I really need to boil the bell peppers before stuffing and placing them in the oven? I got some bell peppers that I wanted to stuff with leftover chicken fried rice but I don't know the steps to make a good batch. What has everyone else tried?
So this week I move into my new place. Renovated 900sq ft small house downtown, pretty simple and spare. The location is killer, but its SMALL!
This is the "kitchen area" in the front room. I have permission from the landlord to do anything I want.
Any suggestions /ck/? Aside from kill myself, because then I wouldn't be able to cook any more.
I'm thinking a backsplash and maybe an island. Already have a new side by side refrigerator coming in since this one can't seem to make ice, much less keep frozen foods frozen.
Replace electric stove with gas (if gas line is available)
Put chopping station at end of counter on right side for more table space
Put small island table in middle of kitchen for more room to prep and cook on
No gas line unfortunately. I do have a good portable gas burner I use for my wok and other tasks where an element doesn't really cut it, but counter space will be tight.
It will be cramped either way, but I think it will be worth it. At the least there's just not enough counter space . . . if I have a cutting board, food processor, and cooling rack out I'll be using every last bit.
do you eat your veggies, /ck/?
what do you call a potato with legs
>there are actual human beings living on earth who enjoy putting sugar in their grits
feck ouff wit yer shitty instnt grets
Millers Buffet in Lancaster, PA is the best Buffet in the United States. Show me one that is better.
Makin some croque monsieurs. Short thread but eh
Spread some sour cream, ham, sour cream, Swiss cheese (grated) and a little bit of beaten egg yellow
Doesn't seem to get mentioned often in recipes, but do you do anything special to prepare your oil when you fry or deep fry things?
Chinese restaurants deep fry spices and aromats to makes batches of cooking oil, Edna Lewis' fried chicken recipe uses country ham and butter fried in lard, supposedly the best carnitas places benefit from using a rolling vat of lard.
Look at this retard's shitty ass fucking fast food tier list. Everybody please comment on how stupid he is and how he should promptly end his life. Un fucking believable
Is homemade pasta worth the effort
No, dry pasta is much more convenient and just as tasty. If what you're seeking is the satisfaction that comes from putting effort into a good pasta dish, try following a recipe for stuffed shells, lasagna, or any pasta dish that requires more than boiling + adding a sauce.
>bursting with flavor
I know how long you're SUPPOSED to keep leftovers, but how long do most of you actually keep your leftovers in the fridge?
WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH MY MAC N CHEESE SAUCE
does /ck/ have a favorite fictional food/drink?
OK, I've only visited NJ twice and never tried the infamous pork roll. Is it as nasty as it looks? It kind of looks like that dirt cheap lunch meat you see in discount grocery stores.
It better be good after all the posting I have seen on here.
>apple skin razor blades cutting my gums in between every tooth
not even once
Hey guys, I'm a canuck and I'm looking for refined avocado oil.
It's not really for eating, so it doesn't have to be a 50$ 8oz vial from Whole Foods in a fancy box. I simply need a lot of cheap, high smoke point avocado oil. Picture unrelated.
I'm not sure what the story is to be honest.
I did find this stuff, seems to be a good price but I'd really want some big bulk gallon jugs though.
Whats you favorite flavor Ramen?
I'm surprised with how decent Oriental is every time I have it. Haven't really tried many flavors though, it's good while you're eating it but doesn't really satisfy or digest well for me.
Why are these things so fucking good?
How can I replicate them at home?
Brine chicken drumettes in hot sauce and buttermilk.
Make pic related but add 1tsp chilli powder and 1tsp cayenne.
Made for the wife's kids last night but in tendie form and before adding hot stuff.
Why do people blot their za with a napkin? Do they know they look autistic doing that?
The solution is to not order shitty, oily pizza.
Also "looking autistic" is not an argument. If I had to eat an oily pizza then I might soak up some of the oil with a napkin because it's healthier. But of course I'd rather eat something else instead.
thoughts on the sparkling water fad, /ck/?
Would you ever eat a vegan cupcake?
What is this used for
What's the best dry pasta brand ?
>thanks for the bear
>oh you mean lager, anon
why do americans always do this?
Who here pays it forward at drive thrus or has had someone do it for them? We need more of this in the world.
I've done both. It's always an awesome surprise when someone does it for you though.
>when you break the chain
I've had it happen to me once. I didn't know I was supposed to keep it going, lol.
Why do japaneses put raw yolks on their soup?
oh no, /ck/
