Made orange beef for my housemates, and they fucking loved it. Didn't have a rice cooker yet so I just looked up how to cook it with a pot. I've never done rice without a cooker before, so this was a new thing to me. It turned out fluffy on top, but really dry around the sides and bottom lightly burned.
>Soak with 2in of water over rice for 20 minutes
>Drain, then place 1:1 ratio of water rice
>Raise to boil then cover, then on low heat for 15 minutes

Put in how much rice you want
Put in double that amount of water
Boil till water done
1 cup rice to 2 cups water
Works for me and many people have eaten my rice. That is just the basics but I usually add stuff after
What do I put on my burger besides beetroot to make it "Australian" burger?
What did you have for breakfast/brunch, /ck/?
I had a really simple brunch. Grilled cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, parmesan, American) sandwich with bacon and fried egg.
what are the best deviled eggs?
the ones I toss in the garbage for smelling like NEET farts and mayo
Is it just me, or is this shit delicious?
>cucking the original name for MUH INTERNATIONALITY
Last night, I was checking out pizza hut's menu, and noticed the wings seemed cheaper than usual; So, I took a screenshot of their price($4.80).
Well, just now I was browsing their site and look how much they want for the same 8 wings...
This is why I fucking hate online pricing. Amazon does this shit too.
>"It's because they know autists..."
Funny you say that- I got a free pizza last time I went because they gave one of my 10-topping abominations away. Delivery+tip is too expensive, cheapness>autism.
I made some OC. Also, Ramen General.
Let me know what you think.
First step: Before browning all of my pork bones I add cold water, bring it up to a boil, then remove the bones.
I clean the bones under running ice cold water until nothing red or dark remains. I clean my pot.
a quintessential 4chan title to put on the mood:
I wish I had more money, would have bought a whole bird and some more pork meat. Broth still turned out decent.
After cleaning our bones I put the pot on the stove, add in some vegetable oil and brown my bones.
Usually I do it in the oven, but I wanted to try this method since I like my tonkotsu broth very fatty.
While waiting for our bones to brown we can cut up some of our veg.
I opted for leeks and sweet onion since I got a really good deal on it, it was already a few days old. I hate letting things go to waste so I had to buy it.
I also added in some mushrooms because they add a savory flavor to the broth. Just regular champignons.
Sorry for the shitty quality of the previous photo, I uploaded the wrong one.
Continuing on, I chop up some ginger and then char it with a torch. I used this technique for Pho and figured it would translate well to Ramen.
Cream cheese is disgusting. It ruins everything it touches. Bagels, sandwiches, sushi... Who the fuck ever thought these things would be improved with the addition of cream cheese. Just looking at this photo makes me sick.
Cream cheese has its uses. In small amounts on a bagel? Fine. In cheesecake? Fine. In sushi? God no.
I can't for the life of me figure out how anyone can enjoy cream cheese in sushi. The flavour combination just doesn't work, I can barely stomach it. Worst part is wherever I go (never been to Japan) the sushi has fucking cream cheese in it, as if it's some sort of culinary masterpiece.
Gelatinized cok au vin on rice cooker rice crescent moon /ck/. Post your best plating
Back in my university days the local supermarket had a cooking sauce that was amazing.
But I can't find it anymore, it was an South East Asian Chilli and Coconut sauce (I think it was Indonesian or Malay) for curries. Does anyone have a clue what it could be, and what the authentic name is for it. It's been years and I can't find it.
Does anyone in the US care about antibiotic abuse in the meat industry, or is that just a European thing?
I was reminded of this issue in the kobe beef thread when someone said they trust American meat more than Chinese meat.
Fuck this fucking stupid pansy feel-good "no antibiotics" shit. They give antibiotics to aniamsl because the animals are SICK. It makes them HEAL and makes them BETTER. I'd rather eat meat from a healthy animal than a sick animal. Stick that up your ass, along with your fucking "gluten" bullshit.
Nope, I'm just sick of food fads used to drive up food prices for imaginary reasons. Scare the customers into paying more for so-called "healthy" food. https://skeptoid.com/episodes/4517
What is the perfect pizza toppings combo?
What does /ck/ think about pizzas in general
Homemade > restaurant imo
Is it cooked enough ?
My workhorse chef's knife is getting too dull even after honing. The problem is most reasonable quality sharpening tools/setups cost more than the knife itself. What do? I don't want to throw away the knife and buy a new one, but it doesn't really make sense to sink so much money into a sharpener.
$32 for a razor edge on every knife you have isn't bad
How do I make my own spicy tendies?
Just bought 2 jars of pic related, probably gonna make some skirt steak marinated in it, or just use for dipping. First chimichurri sauce I've bought. Amazon reviews are all over the place on it, so was wondering if any body had tried it. Inb4 make your own you lazy fag. Also good all purpose sauce general.
it's good enough, your own would be better because freshness counts but I'm sure you'll be happy. I usually just use chimi as a sauce for bare cooked steak but you can definitely use it as a marinade, I just prefer to control how much flavor I get from it
Nope, do your own dude, those canned chimichurri are pig disgusting and nothing like the real one (argie here). But to make the real chimi the most important you need is "aji molido/triturado" it's an argentinian dry and crushed red chili. Check you local "latin" store. The rest of ingridients are everywhere.
Real talk: is there any worse chocolate than white chocolate?
It just tastes like fat and sugar. Leaves an unpleasant aftertaste and doesn't have the same versatility as cocoa chocolate.
What's the best Italian meat /ck/?
What do you guys eat post-workout?
>pic related is Garnet Yam purée, Scottish Salmon, roasted tomatoes and Brussels sprouts. Topped with a lemon vinaigrette.
What sort of pastries do you like?
My favorite has to be a cheese Danish. The pairing of fresh cream and flaky bread is delectable
Cinnamon buns are alright, but they're so goddam rich and sugary. Overwhelmingly so. I can only eat them once every couple months.
Mine would be the Napoleon. Flaky pastry layered with cream, and a nice icing on top. Simple and delicious.
Who truly has the spiciest food?
Rate my dinner/night ck.
So, any of you already tried to mix your Gin and Tonic with a bag of Earl Grey? If you didn't you should.
Also, what's your favourite brand of gin?
I haven't tried many gins, usually go for Hendricks but I tried pic related the other day because it was cheaper, not bad.
been wanting to try infusing earl grey into gin though, gonna do it soon.
Any tweaks to make box mac and cheese better?
>inb4 add s&p
I have around 1kg of chicken schnitzel but nothing else as far as meats go. What should I do with it?
I was thinking of just frying some potatoes and making my own onion rings but turns out I have no eggs too, and it's the middle of the night during a holiday so no one is open.
What do /ck/?
Can /ck/ post an actual fucking diagram that shows me how ketosis/paleo diets work?
The two have nothing to do with each other.
Paleo explained in a nutshell:
>>Durr, modern diets are bad so we should only eat what cavemen ate.
If you cut out carbs from your diet entirely then your body is forced to use a different mechanism to generate energy. That method (ketosis) is less efficient than digesting carbs, therefore it results in weight loss. A side benefit of the Keto diet is that it's honestly hard to eat a lot of calories from fat and...

you cut out Carbs, the body stops receiving easy to break down energy, the body is then forced to use fat as energy, which is harder to break down, and doesn't pass through the blood brain barrier without some weird process where the body breaks down lipids into some other molecule
so the body exerts more energy, by using existing fat reserves, it fucking sucks
like the first week you get super delirious, and irritable.
Over all, worth it
Ok fags, the first location of this place opened in my country opened a few months ago, is it any good?
Can't believe it was in NSW too, ungrateful fucking turds.
We have Hardees in the middle east and they do the best chargrilled burgers. I recommend getting their superstar burger with curly fries.
Hardee's is top tier of the shitty national/global chains. So yes, keeping in mind that it's american fast food so quality is not exactly the highest metric for them, it's ok. I like their burgers, their fries are shit (except curly fries which the ones near me don't sell anymore), their chicken tendies are decent too.
On the flip side they're also on the more expensive side of the fast food equation. A similar meal at McDonalds is probably 2/3rds or less.

What are your thoughts on Peruvian food?
How do they make it taste SO FUCKING GOOD
Place I worked has what me and the manager call a "white girl sandwich" hand pressed baguette, turkey, brie, green apple slices and fig spread, warmed in an oven, shit tasted like sugary anus
why didn't you jabroni's tell me how great it is going to restaurants alone?
>go to any place you feel like, at any time
>order immediately, no waiting around for some finicky bitch to finally decide she wants her usual
>food is served in a fraction of the time, staff brings it out as soon as its ready
>staff is more inclined to throw in a free drink (pic related) or something--either because they pity you being alone or they know there wont be a horde of other people also expecting a handout
>no reason to worry about table manners, stare at your phone the whole meal, eat like a slob, who cares?
>sit at any table you like, no need to miss out on the nice weather because "its too hot outside waaaah"
>no taboo argument over who takes the bill, pay for your own shit and be adored by the staff for leaving bigger tips than you normally would if you were paying for 3+ people
>leave as soon as youre done eating, dont have to wait on anyone
im actually going to make a habit of this, i havent enjoyed a meal that much in a long time.
looks like someone took a shit on that tray, mocrowaved the mac and cheese, fries and biscuit, and then threw in some token vegetables to give the appearance of a healthy meal.
disgusting. anon you can do better
