My brother asked me for my rib roast recipe. I don't really have one. I leave it out, I rub, I sear, I cook. Take the temp. Always great. Anyone got a link to a good recipe online that I can refer him to?
just tell him how to put together whatever spice rub you use, and what temp you cook it at, and explain that the time will vary depending on the size of meat. c'mon bro this ain't rocket surgery
I have some leftover crablegs that I want to reheat. Should I reboil them or will a microwave suffice?
Time for some oc cooking guys
These are all the ingredients were gonna need
What's your favorite urban snack food? Do you have any personal connection to urban snack foods?
When I was in jr high (almost 13 years ago, yikes!) Flamin Hot Cheetos were the most popular snack food with the black and Mexican kids. If you brought Flamin Hot Cheetos you would be swarmed by black kids who would say things like "Lemme get a Flamin Hot Cheeto cuz"
I work in an urban school in Miami. Hot chips are always popular but the hot fries are favored over hot cheetos nowadays.
Hot sausage, Ritz soda, Arizonas, honey buns, sour candies, and spicy doritos (personal favorite) are all staples.
Is this a meme now?
What the fuck is wrong with the picture? Do you have an HTC Evo 3-D? I remember seeing threads a long time ago when that phone came out that too pictures much like the one you posted.
So I work in an office building. I make good money, food at the house but sometimes I walk by trash cans and see great stuff left. Just today the garbage can by the door had what looked like a hefty BK bag and wouldn't you know there was a medium fry, most of a nugget 10 piece and an unopened honey mustard. Score!
I've gotten all kind of stuff just out of my office, chinese food, chicken wings, halves of burgers. I'm thinking of expanding out into public but I don't want people to see me, any tips?
The five second rule is bullshit because the moment something hit the floor, it's covered in germs.
You are now eating something that someone may have eaten with literal shitty hands (watch how many people don't wash their hands coming out of the bathroom, it's terrifying) and may have had their mouth on (the mouth is a cesspit of germs even before they are sick)
This plus whatever germs are in the fucking can.
Did you win your free 6-pack of Crystal Pepsi?
Does /ck/ approve of tai pei entrees?
Bought some dirt-cheap noodles at the store.
They're allegedly meat-flavored.
What can I do to spice them up.
Things I do:
toss some frozen broccoli in while it boils
crack an egg into it during the last minute or so
drain and dump a small can of chicken in after its done
put some baby spinach in the bowl, which I then pour the broth and noodles over which will wilt the spinach
Its not gourmet or anything but it'll make an actual meal out of your ramen
A few days ago I saw the best cooking advice I've ever read on /ck/ and think it deserves a thread of its own
Here's what you're gonna do OP. Listen carefully because this is very important advice. Lots of people think cooking is all about complicated recipes, big cookbooks and arduous effort. Really it's more of an innate thing.
Learning to cook is much more simple, so pay close attention to what I'm going to say. Are you listening?
Fry an egg and experiment with various seasoning. This will give you an idea of what flavours go well...
Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Except that was stupid. Learning what tastes good with eggs is not going to help you with what tastes good with the infinite amount of other foods you will need to be pairing those same things with.
>heck you're from /fit/
Can you crack an egg one handed? What other neat but not necessarily required tricks and techniques are there?
I always get egg all over my hand as if I just angrily crushed it.
Cracking with one hand is easy. Its something they teach at McDonalds to make you work fater at breakfast time. Just crack it and pull it apart with your thumb and little finger. Done.
Not very quickly at all; but then again, I'm a home cook, not someone who works in a restaurant.
I can crack an egg one handed though. It only took about a dozen tries for me to figure it out.
Don't let stock come to a boil
Got some oc for you cu/ck/s. Today we finna cure some salmon.
Pic related is the little guy. I got him for free, and theres no way I can eat a whole salmon before it goes off, and anyway, cured salmon is better than cooked salmon.
Its use by date was today. And I thought this would be nice.
Anyway. I cut his little head off. It was at this point I realised most of my knives are at my gfs house since we recently moved, so I had to make do with some of my older, more shitty knives.
Has /ck/ ever tried this? How does it taste?
That's why Welsh Dragon Sausage was banned in Wales -- that the name was considered misleading because it doesn't actually contain real dragon meat.
You can get it elsewhere, though.
pruins, aka, the "brown" fruit, aka, yummy shit primers
Prunes are awesome. I don't even have pooping issues and I eat prunes frequently. They're so sweet and chewy and delicious.
Also, FYI, you can use prune puree instead of oil or butter in baking recipes (you use half as much prune puree as butter/oil). Makes for a really rich, chewy cookie or brownie, and good in things like spice cakes and quick breads.
